4 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Good!!!

Pros: -Excellent airflow! Two front intake fans installed and two top and one rear exhaust fans.

-can take 8 HDD, plus you can just Velcro down an SSD on the bottom of the 5.3d inch bay.

-Cheap! Only $49, but the build quality is at least in the $70-80 range. There are no sharp edges, something usually found in more expensive cases.

-Despite no soundproofing, there are no rattles or buzzes. It's surprisingly quiet, with just the fan noise being heard.

-surprisingly there is some cable management room on the backside, with cable cutouts in all the appropriate places

Cons: -I wish it was just a touch longer, maybe an inch or two. The reason for this is I would have liked to use the bottom fan intake, but once you plug up a normal sized PSU, there is no room.

-Installing the fans is a little tricky, since to screw in the intake fans, you must remove the front cover. BE CAREFUL, or you will rip out the wires for the header on the motherboard, including the power button. Luckily I expected that because I have read reviews as well as user comments here. Also note that the audio and USB (3.0 and 2.0) plugins connect through the frame to the top of the case front.

The 8 HDD's all fit in, and allow great airflow between them since there is no actual cage...however: although the locking clips do in fact work, if you don't want your HDD's to self destruct from moving around, you'll need to put a screw into each one from the backside to truly lock each one down.

-With the HDD orientation, good luck fitting a decent GPU in here if it's somewhat lengthy. Luckily I didn't have to (see Other Thoughts below).

-No filters, but at this price, not really a con. I improvised by slapping on Silverstone magnetic mesh filters in 120mm and 140mm size, and fashioning some screen door material for the PSU intake.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to move my WHS 2011 unit into. I have an SSD and 8 internal HDD in it. I decided to claim the more expensive Fractal R4 as my own, reasoning it was better suited to my use than as a lowly server hooked up in a back room.

For that function, it is functioning well. I had to add Silverstone magnetic fine mesh filters on all the intakes, and cut up some screen material for the PSU intake.

Overall, I am IMRESSED! My server is operating with only gentle fan noise, with plenty of great airflow in an amazingly solid case. I found this to be the steal of the century as far as cases go. I DO recommend this to anyone on a budget!

1 out of 5 eggsdissapointing

Pros: probably good case for most uses

Cons: bought it because the pics and description imply that the new h110 I ordered would fit, it didn't so I had to order a different case. With the cost of shipping and re-stocking, it made more sense to keep this one but I doubt it will be used any time soon

2 out of 5 eggsMake sure to have spare parts!

Pros: Very lightweight. Good look.

Cons: Never in over twenty years of custom building PC's have I ever handled a case with such poor machining on the motherboard plate. I had to try several sets of risers and screws before I found ones that would thread, and even then I had to be fairly forceful to get them to drive into the metal.

Other Thoughts: In the end, you get what you pay for. A very lightweight case, but the price is obvious when it comes to finish and installation.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

5 out of 5 eggsNice modest case

Pros: Cable management - Amazing cable management system that allows you to fit excess cables behind the motherboard. The cable tie holes are nice too. Plenty of room beside the hard drive bays for all those extra Molex and SATA power plugs. The PSU main power cable bundle will fit anywhere behind the motherboard with some manipulation.
Cooling - The bottom mounted PSU and multiple fan locations are nice.
Space - Plenty of room for everything. More than enough expansion slots and drive bays.
Rugged - This thing is heavy and solid.

Cons: The wire to the power light behind the power switch broke off when I was working on cable management beside the drive bays. Then the HDD activity light wire broke too. Be careful as the wires are only secured behind the switches with what looks like hot glue. I was able to solder and repair the connections and secured everything with Gorilla Glue. Everything works fine now, however I feel this shouldn't have been an issue in the first place if the wires were secured better.

Other Thoughts: Other than the issue in the cons section this is a great case. If you want pure functionality and no bling look no further. The fans that came with the case are a little noisy running on 12V but nothing horrendous. They will start and run fine on 5V if you want to sacrifice a little air flow. I still gave 5 eggs because it's a good quality case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value for the price!

Pros: Lots of airflow options
Lots of room to upgrade

Cons: None that I can see.

Other Thoughts: It sits there and holds everything in my computer that makes it go vrooooom. Functional and looks good doing it. Other than the massive amount of airflow available, the case itself doesn't have an impact on how the computer runs.

You like black stealthy lookin things....buy this.

4 out of 5 eggsLovely case

Pros: Lovely case.

Decent for wiring, not amazing but good enough.

Cons: USB ports on front side are upside down. not a huge deal

Other Thoughts: I wish the storage slot part could be taken out for more air flow, but it was $50 so can't complain much.
