5 out of 5 eggsSleek and Efficient

Pros: At first, I was very skeptical about this case, it looked like it was all just plastic and flash. But after unpacking it, you can see how it is a slick and functional case, the fan controller is actually quite handy and allows you to immediately controller the speed of your fans. This case feels pretty sturdy as well, and inside is very modular with its tool-less kit and has plenty of space to work with. Overall, I am blown away and would recommend this case to anyone looking to build a rig.

Cons: It doesn't have any filters, but that is not worth removing an egg over and if you intend to install a 140mm fan in the front, the bottom right screw thread is a bit off, but not it's not such a bad thing that it rattles or hinders performance.

5 out of 5 eggsNZXT Phantom 410 Black ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: Excellent cooling with room for up to 8 fans. The 3 fans included with the case are very quiet and move plenty of air. The top 140mm fan has blue LED's and adds a very classy look.

The overall design is well thought out and looks incredible. Very sleek and sexy. The functionality combined with its impeccable aesthetics and very reasonable price make it a perfect choice.

Expansion capabilities are to be expected, but make no mistake, this baby is big. She's almost the size of a full tower. Lots of drive trays, ample room for custom cooling set ups, and with the removable drive bay removed, enough clearance to comfortably fit the most gargantuan GPU on the market.

The cable management is top notch. Okay, the rubber grommets are a little flimsy and pop out of the slots easily, but this is easily countered by using one hand to hold the grommet as the other hand feeds the cable through. No problem. It was a breeze to work with and this was my first PC build.

The no tool design is is easy to work with and still very secure. Be prepared to use a phillips head screw driver to loosen the bolts for the first time. They come relatively tight from the factory. The stand off screws come with a small adapter that makes them very easy to install correctly and securely. A very nice touch.

The front panel USB ports are great for most needs and the 3 speed fan controller is a nice functional bonus.

Cons: As stated previously, the rubber grommets surrounding the cable management ports. Not a problem at all. Still very easy to work with. Not even a con. No eggs will be removed for this in any way.

This is a 5 egg case through and through.

Other Thoughts: The perfect mix of extravagant style, classy refinement, and intuitive functionality.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Mid-tower case

Pros: Good construction quality.
Plenty of room for a mid-tower.
Lots of room for cable management behind the back panel.
Enough room for a 2x SLI set up with modern 11.5' cards.
The peaked "attic" above the metal case frame is great for 120mm cooling solutions.
Attractive design that isn't over-the-top.
Fan mounts galore for a case this size.

Cons: Plastic bits are kinda flimsy.
Power button is prone to getting stuck due to its angled design with the necessary press depth vs. the depth of the plastic surrounding it.
Fingerprints! - Build your rig, clean it, and never touch it without gloves again! :)
Could use the fan control dock from the NZXT H440 instead of individual cables.

Other Thoughts: This case has lots of pros, and a few nitpicking cons. Overall, this is a well thought out, attractive design with a good price point for a mid-tower gaming case. For a single or dual GPU setup that doesn't need a custom liquid cooling setup, this is the one for you!

Side note - Despite what the literature says, this case WILL fit a 140mm NZXT Kraken X40 with a full ATX MB but only in a single fan configuration, not with a push/pull dual fan. The only acceptable location (that I found with 1 1/2 hours of fiddling) is to put the radiator inside the case at the top mount nearest to the front panel. Then move both top fans to the "attic" of the case in whatever config you like (I keep both of mine in pull). It's a bit louder this way, but it keeps my 4770K at 60C with BF4 settings all at the ultra/high.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Low price

Side panels easy to remove and put back on

front and top pieces are easy to remove and put back on as well

Elevated from desk so PSU/bottom intake fan can get proper air

extra HDD slots can be removed

sturdy. very sturdy.

Comes with sorted/labeled screws

HDD slots can fit SSD's as well

Cons: Rubber grommets do not stay in. once out they are tough to get back in

Stock fans can easily rattle if not on a flat surface. They also dont push as much air as you would think for their size

fingerprints. fingerprints EVERYWHERE

I just don't understand the logic for the front door. why not just use a magnet? I have a feeling it's going to break pretty soon.

HDD bays are facing the wrong side in my opinion. The right door is holding all of the cabling in and if you have alot of thick cables back there like I do then it's a pain to re-position everything to switch out hard drives. If they had just put the drives facing the other way it would have been great. **on a side not, i bet you could just flip them around yourself but i havent tried yet**

Other Thoughts: Great case for the price. I will most likely buy their 800 series next time I need a case. I feel like even though this company does not have it 100% right yet, they are about as close as you can get in todays world

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Build Quality & Customer Support

Pros: Lots of space, sufficient cable management for most builds, high air flow. Overall, I was pleased with the product while it functioned correctly.

Cons: After almost two years ownership the power button started getting stuck every single time I tried to turn the machine on/off. This resulted in the machine rebooting itself over and over until I can force the button lose.

I contacted NZXT, since the product is still under warranty for another 25 days, and they refused to replace the case. They said they would send me a new top and power assembly to do the repair myself. I repeatedly told them I did NOT want to do this repair and wanted a replacement case that functioned correctly. After a while of very rude customer support, I was told they would send me the parts and that is all of the help I would be getting.

Other Thoughts: Be cautious when purchasing NZXT products. They will find shady loopholes around having to replace a case and only want to send replacement parts and force you to do the repair yourself. I mean, what is the point of having a warranty if I have to do all of the repairs myself?

I am not the only person with this issue. After a little research this seems to be a common problem. NZXT will admit to it being a common problem in their support chat, but they will refuse to replace the case.

I asked to at least get instructions for replacing the power assembly and their technical support was unable to provide me with any. I just got the response: "You will have everything you need for the repair". While I am technically inclined, I have honestly never had to replace a faulty power assembly in a case before. Especially one under warranty.

If a warranty or long-term stability of a product is not important to you then this case will be nice until it breaks. However, after it breaks, don't expect any support from NZXT other than a few replacement parts and a proverbial "good luck" when it comes to fixing the issue.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Michael,

We're sorry for the inconvenience our RMA procedures and the miscommunication that may have occurred.

For your specific issue of the power button sticking, a replacement power button and a new top panel will restore the case to its proper condition. The parts are sent to customers free of charge under warranty, and would only need a simple screwdriver to replace the defective components. This is the quickest option to solving the issue, and can be done in the least amount of time. We provide all replacements for the removable parts in the case, which we found solves about 90% of damaged components issues (defective fan controller, or damaged panels through shipping, etc.). The warranty covers the parts for the length of 2 years for the Phantom 410.

However we DO offer customers the final option of returning the case and having it exchanged for a new one. Please understand that the exchange process does take some time, which is why this option is not usually offered to customers encountering the same issue of a sticky power button. If you'd like to pursue this option, simply let one of our customer service representatives know on our online Helpdesk at URL: http://nzxt.com/support/. We are available via Live Chat or the Submit A Ticket feature from 9:30-5:30pm PST M-F.

Please let us know how else we can help.

Sincerely,
NZXT. Support

5 out of 5 eggsSupport that made a difference!

Pros: Visually striking (gloss black version) with plenty of expansion space for long video cars (any dual gpu cards). Dust filters, 3 speed fan controller, USB2.0/3.0 ports, and latching door to cover front expansion bays.

Cons: Glossy finish means finger prints and the latch for the front door can fail at random. -See additional comments-

Other Thoughts: As of December 2013 (purchased Nov 2012), my latch failed and completely came apart. I contacted NZXT via their support page. I had to create a profile listing what I had and when I purchased it to submit a question as to how I get another latch without having to buy another case. I uploaded some pictures to explain what happened. I got the standard automated answers to my question that only stated they received my question. 2-3 weeks later, I get a package with a BRAND new front bezel that replaced the entire front of the case completely resolving my issue... Didn’t cost me a dime!!! I am VERY surprised and VERY satisfied... When it comes to building another case, I know who I am going to trust to support me long after the purchase. The 410 is still a classy well put-together case. Great JOB NZXT!!!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good case

Pros: This is a very nice case. It is a good value. I really like the cable management system going behind the motherboard, however, it won't work for shorter fan cables and the like. The included fans are nice, and push out a decent amount of air. The manual fan controls are easy to use (just one switch). The case is sufficiently wide enough for larger CPU coolers, like the CoolMaster Hyper 212 Evo; I have this one and can confirm it fits perfectly. There are spaces to add additional fans, however, the stock fans will suffice for the vast majority of users' needs.

Cons: The built-in case fans can become quite loud when the fan controller is switched to max RPM. To that I say: What did you expect from three 120mm fans? I thought I had a fan rattling or a controller issue, but it turned out the be the fan on the CPU cooler. There is some evidence online of an issue affecting some Phantom cases. Search for "Phantom 410 fan noise" if you are curious. My case is OK so far...
