2 out of 5 eggsPower button broke

Pros: Case metal and assembly is very sturdy.

Cons: Initially the case seemed very well made, now after owning it for about a year...the power switch has busted and lost the springiness that would make it pop back out by itself. Two of the case fan bearing burned out. If I plug in the included fan speed control it will short out the power supply and reboot the computer. Replacing this case soon.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsnice design and color options

Pros: nice design, nice color options, usb 3.0 front panel connectors, includes 3 large fans and fan controller

Cons: gap on front panel plastic is somewhat big, fan grills don't have good dust filter.

Other Thoughts: it could use even more color options. top of the case is not flat so can't place items on it. also i get noise through front panel audio out connector that i haven't diagnosed as software, mobo, front panel problem.

3 out of 5 eggsMediocre

Pros: As the second less expensive Phantom series . It does a great job on its quality. The color looks very good and outstanding. It obviously doesn't look as shining like the picture on the website. Front drive bay door is very good looking that you barely will notice it.

Cons: Bay door seems to be a bit hard to close. The spring works really well when you open it. I guess that's the reason why it 's a bit hard to close it. NZXT. really should make all the HDD cage being able to be removed not just that particular middle one.

Other Thoughts: Function-wise, I believe you can find better case at the exact same price tag. This case looks gaming, if you don't like the style of it. This case is probably a really bad one to you. On the other hand. I myself like the style which turns out to be a good option to me. Overall, it's really just a mediocre case which I won't recommend. But like I said, worth or not really depends on how much you credit the look of it.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Very spacious for a mid tower case, the middle HDD cage can even be removed for more room. The cable management is decent as well.

Cons: The rubber grommets just fall out, either attempt to replace them or remove them entirely.

Other Thoughts: A great case with only 1 true con for me. Personally though I'd prefer a blue LED fan since that is my comp's theme, but just a very minor personal opinion for a great mid tower.

5 out of 5 eggsWho really looks at their case while gaming

Pros: It's a really great case for its price. Roomy with the optional removable HDD rack (which I removed), an inbuilt fan controller, three fans included, and a sleek look. I added two more fans (NZXT FN series)--a 140 mm on the top and a 120 mm in the front. Though honestly I was probably going for uniformity rather than any practical purpose. Don't get me wrong, it does serve to provide more cooling/venting, but my justification was aesthetics (well probably factor in a little OCD:) I have a i5-4670K on a hyper 212 plus with a GTX 760, SSD and HDD and temps all around have stayed relatively stable under load (Google "average load temperatures for 4670K and GTX 760"). When I test the heat of the airflow on the back exhaust when I have used the PC under load for say 4+ hours, the air is warm (30-40 Celsius max--an estimate). Basically, I have no worries of cooking/overheating any of my components. If it helps anyone, my fan configuration is as follows: two 120 mm fans in the front as intake, two 140 mm fans on the top as exhaust, and included 120 mm fan back fan as exhaust. I also have a Seasonic M12II or MII12 (not really sure--I'm at work) 620W PSU. I forgot to mention wiring--really roomy behind the motherboard. I routed all my wires from behind the motherboard it all fits without having to force them. They also provide great liquid cooling options with plenty of tube access points (is this what you call them???) Really have no need for going the liquid cooling route, but it's nice to know that it's a very viable option if I ever choose to do so.

Cons: Probably the most striking "con" would be the rubber grommets that like the wiring holes (the biggest ones--think there are 3/4). None of them actually stayed in its position while I fiddled around with the wiring. When one initially came off, I went ahead and remove all of them. But what does not make this particular shortcoming a "con" is that hole edges are somewhat beveled and not a sharp edge, so there is some protection. Moreover, I was not really concerned because all my cables are sleeved. Another disappointment would be that the front LED is not working, but then again I never look at my case while gaming, so it's just a waste of time being a stickler in this case (pun unintended).

This is more of a customer service issue (I think), but not for lack of trying, I cannot find out the model number of the fans that came with the case. I wanted to get more matching fans (white fan blades against a gunmetal background is really striking), but had to settle for the FN series from NZXT. A little pricey, but worth the cost.

Other Thoughts: The overall build is perfect. No unfinished edges, the optical drive tooling might take a little getting used to, but once I installed my drive, I didn't think twice about. I placed my SSD and HDD in the bottom of the case and removed the removable HDD cage (which gives lots of working room).

One might complain about the possibility of the removable front and top cover becoming loose over time, but honestly, how often are you going to be removing them even if you do upgrade in the future (only instance would be when you do regular maintenance--liquid cooling:) I don't do dust my components because my airflow in consistent and there really is no way for dust to build up--I used my PC everyday.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: Looks awesome. Air flow is perfect. Lots of room for cable management.

Cons: Manuel isn't overly helpful.

Other Thoughts: If you want an awesome looking mid-tower case that won't completely run your wallet dry, then get this case.

5 out of 5 eggsNZXT Phantom Mid

Pros: Where to start? I only have good things to say about this case.

There is plenty of space for cable management.
Cooling options are very versatile, especially for a mid tower.
Overall I find this case to be very sexy.
Vanity window and fan side mount.
The fan controller is great.

Cons: I literally have no cons for this case or this company.

Other Thoughts: So i went ahead and bought a refurbished one from Newegg, and i have to say that I don't even know the difference. I have finally found a tower manufacture worth keeping.

2 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect, has problems

Pros: Good layout, nice use of space, plenty of fans, looks nice

Cons: Rubber grommets to hold/mount hard drives fall apart, do not mount securely, holes do not line up with my drives. Front door latch does not operate smoothly.

Other Thoughts: Reminds me of a very good forgery of a rollex watch. Looks nice, works nice, almost hard to tell it isn't real - but a few pieces they cut corners on keep falling off or not working. They did 99% of the work to build the best case I've seen, but the other 1% is such a horrible disaster I regret buying this.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Would you be able to contact our Support team via the online Helpdesk at URL: We are available from 9:30-5:00pm PST M-F and can provide you with support for fitting the hard drive rails to use for your drive.
