5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is great, it's very spacious for tons of cable management. It has many PCI expansion slots, as well as many mounts for different sized fans, not to mention you're given the ability to be able to control them directly, which is to say it helps save space on the motherboard for more important pwm fans like a radiator.

Cons: Depending on your preferences this case is extremely large, I had to buy a new computer desk to compensate and accommodate for its massive size. Also, it is very heavy by itself, and one you finish adding all your components it ends up being very, very heavy (I'd say anywhere from 35-50lbs depending on how what you're adding.

5 out of 5 eggsWelcome to my fantasy

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is so beautiful. When you look up the word aesthetics you are inevitably presented at some point with pictured of beautiful lithe women. The case is huge, but it has curves in all the write places. Assembling your components is so easy and fun to boot because for once there was no squeezing in to cramped places. No tight spots that a lot of cases have and end up with you cursing under your breath. Instead, for me at least, it was how beautiful can I make the cables and wiring. The fans that are included are already hooked up and ready to go. In fact they give you more extra wires for fans than there are spots to hold them. I had been researching cases for months, and like almost everything I buy for my computer I read, and read until I know the product inside and out. I was moving out of an NZXT Apollo metallic chrome case that was six years old. It is a pretty case, but no cable management at all. It is also a midsized case, and the Cooler master hyper 212 Evo I purchased after dropping in a new AMD fx-8350 because the sound of the stock fan was driving me crazy just barely fit. It fit with some creative Dremmel work. When I had the evo on the older case it was much quitter and kept temps down to 51-52 C. This new case was built to make sure people like me never have to worry about issues like this. In fact, with cables out of the way and a cougar in the first slot on the bottom blowing up and the tilt-able device with another cougar angled up it seems like it was designed just for me. Playing any game all out or running Prime 95 makes no discernable difference in sound, and the temp never goes over 38 C, but I read that the Intel burn in was the real test. That I could expect 20 C degrees more in heat running this savage program. So I got it set up and could only put on the setting right under max since I only have 16 GB of ram. Once again, sound wise you would never know the machine was under load, and better it topped out at 45 C and wouldn’t budge after that. This is all thanks to the airflow dynamics of this case. The HUE color system is wonderful, and I have the fans maxed out. I would turn them up if I could since they are so quiet. Inspired I have begun my quest of perfecting it. Bought some Red cables to match the Crosshair V Formula Z motherboard, but I am having a problem finding some 140 mm red bladed fans. Juts not sure I want to go red led. I can’t find any color changing led fans either.

Cons: I haven't had anything break on me, and I just found out I can order a fuller windowed side panel from NZXT for only $30.

Other Thoughts: I get a warm happy feeling just looking at the monster sitting on top of my desk on the corner. I put a small 2x4 inch magnet of Frankenstein's monster on the side panel. It says it all.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case Minor Flaws

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of space. Borderline excessive amounts of space. I love it. Great for anyone doing a water-cooled set up.

LEDs turn on and off, which is great to preserve their lifespan and conducive to sleep!

Highly customizable. Watch the video provided by Newegg!

Looks amazing.

Great cable management

Aside from a shoddy paint job, it is excellently made it definitely worth the money

Cons: Has a door. Doors on computers are like spoilers on a Grand Am, completely functionless and typically look pretty stupid.

Front intake fan is raised in order to accommodate space for radiator. This in turn limits the amount of air being pulled into the case.

This may seem trivial but this is an extremely annoying issue with the case. If you have this behemoth-sized case on a desk, as I do, you need to stand your lazy behind up before you unplug or plug ANYTHING into the front headphone jacks. This is because the power and reset buttons are right there and they are EXTREMELY touchy. I accidentally turned off my computer minutes before writing this review.

This is a largely steel case so it is obviously coated in paint. The paint job is not the best. While it looks nice, it very easily chips off.

Other Thoughts: This thing is enormous. Fully loaded it will easily weighs over 40lbs. Due to the size and weight it's a two man job to move this thing any kind of distance measured in feet rather than inches.

Top fan came oriented as an intake fan? May want to consider buying some extra fans and changing the airflow set up.

Although the door is stupid as-all-get-out, this one is nicely made. Uses magnets and has no stupid plastic parts that click together (like the Phantom 410). Doesn't slam shut either.

Fan controller isn't very useful (unless you have all variable speed fans).

All-in-all I highly recommend this case

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a BEAST!

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: What a beast! Let me tell you what I have in this case. Push/Pull 360mm rad on top and a push/pull 240 rad on the bottom, quad rad hanging off the rear fan cage (NICE mounting locations where the fans can move up and down to do this without putting holes in the case). Asus Formula VI Mobo /w 4770K XSPC block, 2x290x in XFire water cooled, Dual Bay twin pump rad and much more. This thing fits is all like a beast. Love the fan controller for getting all my extra rad fans. Threw an extra 200mm fan on the top so it's the "pull" of my top rad. Case is very well made. I am upgrading from Thermaltake and Lian-Li Full towers. To the guy who said it doesn't fit a Corsair without modding the top part. yes it will as I had one for about a week before I went full water block. PS, the cable management in this thing is insanely good with all the cubbieholes and grommets.

Cons: None really except that the outer case paint scratches VERY easily so be very careful. I put cheap black rubber washers on everything that was mounted against the outer paint so it doesn't scuff the paint.

Other Thoughts: BUY IT NOW!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case, exploding fan.

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: 1) This case is HUGE, plenty of room for all the things that I wanted to do, with much more cable management area than my previous case, a white/black Raidmax Agusta.
2) This case is quite a looker. Three spotless finishes, interior AND exterior hue-change lighting, rear I/O light and a small side panel window to show off some of those internals. The color change is a neat feature, during the day I can set it to a mean green to match my Razer peripherals, and at night I can set it to a fierce red to match all the AMD internals.
3) This case has a lot of wiggle room an options externally as well, with an astonishing 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports (giving me a ridiculous total of 10 2.0 and 6 3.0 ports with the rear ports-quite overkill), a SD card slot in the front, your HD audio outs, as well as a sophisticated 15 watt-per-channel fan controller right on the front/top of the case.
4) 4 external 5.25 inch bays (what I consider to be the perfect number, because 2 is too few if you want a nicer fan controller or external drives, and any more than 5 and it starts to look outlandish) cleverly hidden by a magnetic door, all following the original Phantom design..
5) Airflow. This case provides insane amounts of airflow with an optional 4 200 mm fans and 3 140/120 mm fans, all with accompanying radiator mounts, and the mounts are elongated to provide wiggle-room with positioning. I honestly almost mounted a 120mm radiator on the angular fan mount, just because you can in this case. I didn't, because that would be silly, but you could if you wanted to.

Cons: The only con that I have is that my side mounted 200mm fan, which came stock with the case, just exploded in a 4 finned- massacre. Thankfully nothing else was damaged from this, but upon inspection the dust-screen for the fan was mounted upside-down, putting the plastic grill toward the fins; it was only a matter of time before the plastic flexed enough (from warming up and from the natural flex these grills have) before it hit the fans.
No biggie this time, NZXT, it was just the fan. But be extra careful in the future, okay? (haha, as if they are going to read this.)

Other Thoughts: I keep seeing people post things as cons like "it's heavy" or 'it's too big" waaah. NO DUH PEOPLE. If you did anything short of inpulse buying this case-I will admit it is hard and that is pretty much what I did- you would see the specs. Solid metal with some plastic asthetics, the case alone ways in at what, 37 pounds or something? It lists ALL THE SPECS right on the page. It tells you "Hey, pal, I'm huge." It is almost your own fault if you got it and it didn't fit. Don't let the size prevent you from buying this amazing case, just double check first, do some homework and see if it is right for you, because if it is, there isn't much better you could do...maybe the Rosewill THOR.. maybe. An arguable case to say the least, pun not intended. Worth the buy, if it is what you are looking for.

4 out of 5 eggsNZXT Phantom 820 Series

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: It has 4 fans that come with it. It has a many features that are very interesting. Modifying the fan speed to the very touch of your hand is quite nice. It also is very quiet even when having a loud heatsink inside. It also has dust filters so that less dust can get into your hardware. Great Case, and would Highly Recommend.

Cons: It i a very large case.
