5 out of 5 eggsBig Trunk For Your JUNK

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: IT's big. it's beautiful, it's heav- I work out so no no its not heavy. I Just love this case plenty of room for cooling capabilities and expansions. The lighting I really like its goes great with my CPU cooler from Thermal-take Water 3.0 Riing RGB 360. I installed 2 EVGA GTX 980ti Hybrids and everything fits perfect with plenty options for mounting spots.

Awesome Case looks great from every angle. and very well ventilated.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsawesome case

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Just bought this case and it is well worth it. Tons or room inside. Plenty of cable management. Also plenty of fans to keep it cool.

Cons: none at the moment.

Other Thoughts: The only thing I found when I received the case is that there was a pinched wire by the usb hub but no big deal just took off plastic on top and moved the wire. Something who ever assembled the case could have taken two seconds to fix. I would recommend this case to anyone. Hopefully my review helps.

2 out of 5 eggslarge case lots of options

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Where do i start the case is large, with many attachments and support fro 120 and 140 mm fans and radiators, to include graphics cards with Radiators and fans. Love the fan contoller thingy.

Cons: The case is roomy and heavy when installed, but the plastic parts are extrememly brittle, when will companys learned to make detachable plastic parts with metal clips or something, i hate to say it but taking the front and top plastic chassis covers will become painfully obvious that it was not desiigned to resiliently endure multiple removal, the on/off round buttons will pop off in not perfectly allighned. also the plastic clips will break off as they arent designed to handle it, I spent $200+ on this case and dont feel like it warrents a repurchase, because aside from the brittle plastic my 200mm fans are sooo noisy when they speed up even slightly that the rattle. noise they make is unbearable.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case and the original 280 Kraken and in both cases have been disappointed by the quality of the products, not to mention the lack of Customer support....

5 out of 5 eggsNever Need Another Case

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: I don't know where to start, from room for cabling to flexibility and overall internal options this case has everything anyone could want. The outside is so clean I didn't even put any badges on it.

I have mine on the floor so I have easy access to al the top mounted usb ports, headphone and mic jacks, and the fan options (for case fan speed) is AWESOME!!!

The case lighting options leave it so you have no need for any lighted fans. The hue options allow AMD red to Intel Blue (and a pretty cool green too) users to show-off their love even more.

If you are looking to "One time" purchase case ... This is it.

Cons: I was prepared for it but if it has a con this would be the only one ... BIG ... make room the 900 lb. gorilla.

Other Thoughts: If I think of some I'll let you know.

4 out of 5 eggsNZXT Phantom 820 Review

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Awesome case plenty of room great cable management well thought out design. Very impressed with structural quality of case. Just a note it is HUGE Built in fan controller is great I have all fans except my RAD fans running off it. 4 200mm and 4 140 mm

Cons: 1. When I was installing mother board I found that the mounting screws was missing. What I thought to be the screws was not same thread type but grounded out my board and PC would not start. Changed screws after looking closely at manual fortunately I had extra MB screws from other builds.
2. After build and got system up and running tried card reader and built in LED functions and nothing. Double checked all connections and power connection for LED still nothing. Contacted NZXT and they are sending me a whole new box of screws and the circuit board and controller for LED lighting. but could take 2 weeks before they are shipped.. When you spend this kind of money for a case everything should work. .

Other Thoughts: I knocked off 1 egg for the LED controller not working. It's not Neweggs fault they always give me fantastic customer service. Not sure if they test before boxing and shipping or if UPS caused damage . box was not damaged when I received it. I think 2 weeks is a little long to have to wait for replacement part

5 out of 5 eggsMe likey!

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great Case! It's nice and roomy with plenty of space to configure your wiring.

Cons: Flimsy HDD bays but once you get the HDD mounted they're not bad. I used a 3 1/2 drive bay adapter for my SSD card so it was sturdy.

I put a second

Other Thoughts: I first ordered this case from NZXT directly and looked up the FedEx tracking number and it kept saying, "Shipment information sent to FedEx" for 6 days. I finally called NZXT to see what was going on and they said they were sold out and wouldn't get anymore in until mid May. I was a little disappointed, they could've called or emailed me this information. I cancelled my order and was refunded within two days.

I should've just ordered it first from Newegg. I Won't make that mistake again. (Sorry Newegg!)

2 out of 5 eggsCase great - Support awful!

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: The case is big enough to support practically every build. Although parts are plastic and the price tag high, I am over all pleased. I took off the front panel that goes over the front external drive bays.

Cons: I have had a few washers break, 4 to be precise. I have been in contact and arguing with them to replace them for almost a week. Still not luck - did you notice that I am asking for four (4!) washers to be replaced. For those of you who expect top rate support, don't expect it. It could be an isolated case, but I can only speak to my experience.
However, I have asked for support a couple times on this case and both (unhelpful) responses took days for reply.

Beware, if you want the SD Card slot, the USB 2.0 slots on top you will need 3 USB 2.0 headers which my motherboard did not support nor will many others. However there is a solution, NXZT makes a USB 2.0 expansion header, of which I installed and is working great.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello , Valued NZXT Customer .

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience please if you can visit support.nzxt.com and at the top right you would need to submit a request. With that being said you will need to put in your invoice along with the request. Once we get that we can assist with a parts replacement for the case, also if you have any troubles inputting the request please feel free to contact us at Tel. +1-800-228-9395 .

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

4 out of 5 eggsBig and--Big

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Big and roomy
Sturdy
Lots of grommets
Comes with fans top, back, front and side.

Cons: Drive bays

Other Thoughts: This is a big roomy full tower that is not seems as heavy as other towers of it's size. This could be because the only metal on the exterior are the side panels. It comes with 4 stock fans and so far they are quiet. The most intensive program I have ran so far is Star Citizen and Dragon Age: Inq games and I did not hear the fans. I do hear a slight steady hum, just enough to let me know they are working.
Lots of space, there is room for everything and then some.

I do have only 1 gripe, and that is the awful drive bays!
They are so flimsy that when I grab one it feels like I can crack or break one by applying only a little pressure. Also, SSDs have to be attached with screws.
The way the bays slide in is terrible too. The bays do not have a way to be stopped when sliding in. You can easily push them past the stopping point and too far back. That happened to me while installing windows. I was looking at the way the SSD was sitting and accidentally pushed it and it popped out of the other side of the case--needless to say Windows failed at installing because SSD got tossed around.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 820 Series CA-PH820-G1 Gunmetal Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is a cable management dream. With the built in LEDs the ability to make the inside look clean and tight is important. The rubber cable leads are amazing for getting excess hidden. The case itself is very durable; I've moved houses with it and transported it in a car several times to LANs. The air intake filters are also quite nice.

Cons: This thing is huge! It isn't the largest tower that you can buy but it is certainly the largest I've ever seen in person. I have a fairly nice computer desk that has a built in computer tower cabinet. The cabinet isn't even close to housing this thing so it sits next to my desk. Moving it to do cable management is a slight pain. Suggestion: cut out a piece of cardboard just big enough for this thing to sit on and place it underneath. I painted a design on my cardboard so it doesn't look ghetto.

Other Thoughts: Like many of you I've built dozens of computers with a large range of cases and there is nothing that really compares to the overall quality of the Phantom. It is similar in some aspects to other high end cases but the Phantom assembles the features better than the rest. As a stationary desktop case I would buy it again. For a LAN rig I'd likely look for a LANBOY.
