Phantom 630
Introducing the Phantom 630 Windowed Edition

You have been asking for this for a while and we've delivered...

NZXT presents the Phantom 630 Windowed Edition - the same revolutionary, award-winning chassis that took bold innovation to the next level with a large side panel window.

In 2010, the original Phantom shook the industry with its daring, timeless design. The following year, NZXT brought the well-received Phantom design to a mid-sized tower with the Phantom 410. In 2012, the Phantom 820, again, raised the bar for an entire industry, with its integrated HUE lighting system and limitless cooling potential. NZXT released the Phantom 630 in 2013 to rave reviews with only one complaint, the window.

Phantom 630

Now, NZXT brings the same innovation of the completely redesigned interior of the Phantom 630 to the exterior with the new Windowed Edition.

Engineered to satisfy any enthusiast's desires, the Phantom 630 features fully modular internal drive bays that can be reorganized to your heart's content. With all hard drive bays in place, the Phantom 630 is still able to achieve high performance liquid cooling with 360mm radiator and 240mm radiator support.

By rearranging your drive bay setup to fit with your specific needs, the Phantom 630 is able to support a countless number of creative, custom cooling configurations out of the box.

Phantom 630

If you choose to remove all drive bays to accommodate extra radiators or a large reservoir, the Phantom 630 comes with two SSD mounts located behind the motherboard tray for a minimalistic setup with maximum cooling and cable management capability.

Along with an integrated 30W single channel fan controller, the Phantom 630 also features a dual-level motherboard tray, offering unrivaled cable management and airflow capabilities. Further minimizing cable clutter, the Phantom 630 is equipped with a rear-mounted multi-port fan hub for a simple and clean fan controller setup.

2 out of 5 eggsExtremely poor quality control

Pros: Looks good on paper, Comes with lots of dust filters, Modular drive cages and lots of radiator mounts. Cable management was not too difficult either with big rubber grommets and fan hub.

Cons: When you actually start working on this case, It instantly turns into a nightmare.
1. The front panel is extremely difficult to remove, Those plastic prongs are supposed to come off when you pull from the bottom, Instead you can snap your entire front panel in two during the process. They either messed up the measurement or just poor workmanship. I wish I can skip this process, Unfortunately you HAVE to open to front panel first before you remove the top panel. They really should attempt to remove the front panel themselves before selling it to the mass.
2. The top panel is also a huge pain to remove and requires excess amount of force that you think you might just break something again. Did I say again? So good luck installing a radiator there.
3. Once the CD drive / Front panel water cooling reservoir is installed, You can no longer open up the front panel without breaking it. Now good luck reaching that dust filter.
4. Just as others mentioned, There was a layer of dust around the case corners after it was opened.
5. With all the modular hard drive cages removed, The entire case can actually bend showing how weak the structure is.

4 out of 5 eggsI like it but it's not perfect

Pros: 1. Big with lots of features
2. A good selection of bolts/screws in individual bags
3. Others complained but I'm happy with the included fans
4. I like the look (see Cons)

Cons: 1. I/O Panel LED went out after a month (others have reported the same)
2. The top and front panes are hard to get off
3. Wife doesn't like the look (see Pros)

Other Thoughts: I'm ambiguous on the effectiveness of the User Manual. Could have been more helpful for the average user (which I think I am); could be confusing for newbies

3 out of 5 eggsMixed Feelings

Pros: Big..Very first gaming build..lots of room..

Cons: top and front made of plastic..broke 2 connectors trying to get them off body...led on top of case to tell you its on constantly flickers..annoying..AND one of the 200mm fans came broken..i installed a radiator on top so I right now I don't need it...wish they would replace it

Other Thoughts: would I buy it again?Probably because I know what to look for now..minus one egg for broken fan and minus one egg for how tough it is getting outside covers off

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

Pros: The case came very quickly for a large item with free shipping. Very well packaged. Case is nice and painted a beautiful flat black, it's exactly what I was expecting. Lots of room and options. Very pleased! Nice job NZXT and Newegg!

Cons: None...I looked it over carefully and started building. No scratches or dings.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

Pros: LARGE! Lots of room, great cable management options, very good drive options, and nice features.

Cons: -Upon unpacking, the inside of the case was full of dust!
-The instructions are abysmal. Mostly just pictures.
-Paint chips easily. Put in a screw, take it out, paint gone...
-Access hole for tilt fan off-center, so useless.
-No place for side fan! What the heck???
-Drive racks including front are flimsy. Front drives are not flush with mesh (remove-able) covers. So, if you use 3 of the 4 bays, it looks bad due to the gap. And the holder system is weak. I also do not like the all. Inconvenient as heck.
-Too much plastic.

Other Thoughts: New build: W7 64 bit, Asus Z87 Mobo, i7 4770k, GTX 770, Corsair HX850, Samsung 256gb SSD, 2TB HDD, ya know, all the good stuff...

5 out of 5 eggsBattleship tower case

Pros: Top-of-case fan speed control, and plenty of fan provisioning. Very quiet. Tool-less installation for 5.5 and 3.5 inch drives. Wire routing provisions keep wiring out of the way of the motherboard for a very neat installation. Door over 5.5 drive bay should cut down dust entry to optical drives. White LEDs over both connector panels - no flashlight needed to connect up!

Cons: Large, heavy (38 pounds without power supply)

Other Thoughts: Very quick/easy easy installation for MB and all peripherals. You will run out of SATA connectors before you run out of drive spaces. Large quiet fans, and provisions for adding liquid coolers. Top of case USB 3.0 sockets are nice.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Value Case with Plenty of Room

Pros: *Plenty of interior room for anything you want to put inside it.
*Able to utilize watercooling if wanted
*3 Modular cages with space for up to 6 HDDs allow you to use the amount of space you need and you can take the rest out
*Fits up to XL-ATX motherboard.
*Plenty of space for PCI devices
*Up to four spaces for CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives
* 2 trays for SSDs on the back of the motherboard tray.
*Plenty of room for cable management under the motherboard tray and includes zip ties and lots of screws
*Stock fans are quiet and keep case very cool
*2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 available on top
*Card Reader available on front
*LED light toggle for back I/O Panel

Cons: *Hard to reach the 8 Pin power connecter at the top of the motherboard from the bottom mounted position of the PSU
*Case is massive be ready for the size
*Quite a bit made of plastic but thus far very sturdy

Other Thoughts: The case was much larger than I anticipated but have had no issues with it. Held my i7 build with XL-ATX motherboard and two graphics cards without issue. I have been impressed with the stock fans and the fan controls on the outside. The light to be able to see what you are plugging in to is an ingenious design. Overall a great case I am not seeking to replace.

4 out of 5 eggsAnother great case from NZXT

Pros: Lots of room in front and cable routing in the back. Looks sexy and feels sturdy, when it's all put together. TONS of extra hardware for every build scenario. Side window is rad. Awesome all-around case.

Cons: Doesn't come with a full array of fans and is a little on the expensive side. Also the plastic front and top covers may be a deal breaker for some, but it doesn't affect the look of the case. Just don't fling them around or anything. Same goes for the somewhat "bendy" side panels.

Other Thoughts: It's certainly an upgrade over the original Phantom, in almost every way. Having owned both I can easily recommend this one.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case!!!

Pros: You don't really have to own this case long enough to write a review. I just moved everything over from my Thor V2 gaming case, which came broken when I bought my system build back in December and Rosewill refused to RMA it without me paying another $100 for it so I wanted to buy another case. I have a Kraken X60 Watercooler and since I love NZXT for their superor built products and customer service, I went with this case. I didn't even read anything about it, just saw it and it wasn't the lowest nor the highest price range and bought it. I love the shape, the huge window on the side panel, the 10 port fan hub, the 2 200mm fans and the 140mm fan that comes with it already preinstalled, the cable management system incorporated into the build. NZXT really thought this through. It was simple to just throw my motherboard in there with the preinstalled motherboard pegs which fit perfectly, all my PCI cards/video cards, put the Kraken x60 in there without any problems with room since there is still a whole lot more room for another radiator and fans, and my harddrives were a snap (literally) to install. Cleaned off my fingerprints, put her back together and booted up! It is a very quiet system and well built.

Cons: Nothing. You can say "you haven't had the case long enough to know" but once you put your system together, you really aren't going to be messing with it much more than you should anyways. It never fell apart, came with more than enough screws, and everything works!

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a case, give this one another look if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed.
