5 out of 5 eggsMy honest review on the source 530

Pros: The pros: Cable management was amazingly awesome, I mean I don't even have a modular power supply yet*; and cable management was a breeze. So much space compared to my old colermaster cosmos 2 se or my thermaltake MSI commander snow eddition; better cable management. The HDD bays all modular, it even has a secret hide out for an ssd. It can take up to 9 fans, which is awesome. The airflow in this case is superb. It also has dust filters, which i love. Like premium cases stand offs come installed. Every screw comes very organized, and tons of zip ties. I didn't use any zip ties though, because I'm waiting on a PSU I reordered. The price of $90 bucks? Too good to be true. Working on this case was so smooth. It may be affordable, but it is high quality. I'll recommend it to anyone any day. I paid $170 for the cosmos, and thought it was an okay case, now the source 530 is worth every penny.

Cons: Cons: the case isn't the best looking in the market, and the hard drive bays could've been better. This case only brings two case fans. Sadly no top filters. See other thoughts.

5 out of 5 eggsRetracting previous review - the mobo jumpers are already installed!

Pros: Looks like a great case. It's actually a lot fatter than I expected, it barely fits into a desk in which I previously had a slimmer ATX tower.

Cons: Not sure yet. Need to figure out how to hook up the front USB ports to the motherboard. (They're not working right now.)

Other Thoughts: 9 of the 11 motherboard jumpers are already installed in the case. The instruction manual says there are 11, and I jumped to conclusions when I saw the bag only had 2 jumpers.

5 out of 5 eggsnice looking case for build with room

Pros: this case has plenty of room and is a verynice looking case. it has room for 9 fans 2 in bottom, 2 in front (either 2 120 or 2 140 or just 1 200mm) in the roof there is room for 3 fans ( either 120 or 140) 2 in bottom (140) and 1 off of hard drive cage (120 or 140) there is room for 6 harddrives in cages ( can be taken out they are 3 parts one that holds 1 drive, one that holds 2 drives and one that hold 3 drives they can be regular hdd or ssd mounts on trays) tool less for optical drives nice lookin case as well lots of ventilation. seams to be put together well.

Cons: none as of yet, no wire gromets (got from nzxt for cheap)

2 out of 5 eggsNZXT Source 530 CA-SO530-M1 Matte Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Overall, it is a good computer case there is enough space for SLI and cable management. Air flow is great.

Cons: The front USB 3.0 is so fragile that breaks first time when I plug my usb device into it.

And also, the other one that looks good, but it doesn't work. I double checked the wire connection is made to the motherboard per manual.

Other Thoughts: I will speak with newegg customer support to see what they can do about the case. I spent couple of hours to get all the stuff installed. I really don't want to take everything out and do again.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost a great case.

Pros: Nice finish, LED lights at the IO shield and over the PCI slots. Good for us old fogies. Cable management is a breeze with all the tie downs. I'm not one to use them too much, but they almost cry "USE ME!" there are just so many. The two system fans were so quiet I almost didn't think they were on the first time I did a test POST.

Cons: Some of the holes don't line up with some equipment. My optical drive had one screw that was not quite a mm off, but just enough that I would have stripped the thread if I tried. Three out of four isn't bad. I thought it may have been the optical, but I test installed it in my old case and the holes lined up.

Befitting an old tradition for an old man, the Ghost in the Machine claimed his allotment of blood. Careful, not EVERY surface is bezelled or bevelled or somesuch word. I think both, actually.

The removable cages didn't have mounting holes to reverse the cage orientation. I would have preferred to mount them from the front and access them from the back without having to contend with the tray flanges.

Other Thoughts: Solid contender, I would have given it 5 out of 5 if there hadn't been a couple of offset holes. Nothing to send it back over, but annoying. Would I buy it again? Yea, the LEDs on the IO and PCI backpanel compensate for the other shortcomings.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality for a Good Price

Pros: This case has a lot going for it.

First thing to mention is build quality. In this price range, it is hard to find something this sturdy. Everything from the front I/O to the hard drive bays feel great.

As mentioned above, this case has several hard drive bays that allow for quick swapping of hard drives and easy installation. The bays are metal. There is a very solid locking mechanism as well.

Good size and great airflow. This case gives enough room for simple cable management.

Great looks as well. Looks clean and professional without being boring.

Cons: None I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case for my build for a family member. I wish I got this case for myself.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I got pretty much what I expected from the items page. Its a big case with good cable management and removable HDD bays, and lots of room for fans.

Cons: Not worth taking a hit to the ratings but it came with two fans installed, and they had been bolted (Newegg didn't like scr?wed for some reason) on tight enough to mar the paint underneath the screws on the case. Just having the fans with the case would have been a little better.

Other Thoughts: Not really a con but I was hoping to fit 2 '76 bonneville heatercores in here for water cooling and with the external bays in its just about a half inch shy of fitting it on the front intakes.
