Optimized for efficient cooling, and created with a sleek, professional style, the Rosewill 600 series computer case is cool in both senses of the word. Using air ducts on the front for drawing cool air in, and pushing hot air out the side and the back of the case, the 600 series is ideal for cooling any system. The front ducts are adjustable so when less air intake is needed, the ducts can be closed keeping dust out. In addition the front filter traps dust before it can reach the inside of the case. A removable hard drive cage allows for easy installation for multiple hard drives.

The top of the case is designed for optical drives which include sliding rails for an easy install, and when you need to replace an old device just slide it out and pop in a new one. Next to the power button you will find 2 USB ports and 2 audio ports as well as a flip top to hide them. All that and a 450w power supply and you're set for a great building experience. The model R604TBLK is finished in black. Black is cool, right?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!!!!

Pros: This case has a good amount of space and had no trouble installing computer components. This was my first build and I am EXTREMELY satified with my purchase. The three fans keep the case cool and run quietly.

Cons: One of the sockets that the rear thumbscrews goes into was bent in. But the screw still worked so I'm happy.

Other Thoughts: Was great for a beginner build and I'm saying that as a 16 year old. Newegg has some great prices!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsAverage Case

Pros: Case is priced appropriately and includes a 450w power supply. Front panel connections are plenty long. Includes 3 120mm case fans. Plenty of room inside the case and fits my 260 GTX with ease.

Toolless design works well enough. I'm not quite sure why people have so many problems with it, I didnt have any trouble at all. Some of mine were in the "locked" position initially so perhaps that is why people had problems? There are instructions on the locks on how to lock and unlock them.

Cons: Airflow in this case is pretty poor despite the 3 120mm fans. The fans aren't that powerful but the biggest problem is the intake fan flow is all but blocked by the hard drive cage. Couple that with a large graphics card and the intake path is effectively sealed off in the bottom part of the case. Good for the GPU, bad for everything else. This is probably true for a lot of mid-size cases however.

As everyone else mentioned, the power supply cables are way too short for the lower reaches of the hard drive cage.

Steel is a bit thinner than other cases so it doesn't feel quite as solid.

If you are using the 450w power supply, there are not a lot of SATA connections and only 1 6 pin PCI-e graphics connector.

Hard drive cage requires screws which partially defeats the toolless design of the rest of the bays as I had to get a screwdriver anyways.

Other Thoughts: Case was a bit tweaked when it arrived (front panel doesn't align 100%) but not enough for me to send it back. 2 of the front 5.5" drive bay covers are flip down style (which I don't like) but one was broken. Since I don't like them anyways, I'm not RMA'ing and just mounted the drive flush with the front. I can't use the toolless design this way but there are other screw holes that line up so you don't need to remove the toolless knobs.

Side panels are a bit hard to put on if all the toolless knobs are not locked down. Since there is 1 section I can't use them for, it makes putting on the side a little harder but is still easily do-able.

I used the power supply in my old system and put a better power supply in this one and everything reaches fine. The 450w one wasn't going to cut it with a Phenom II 940 and 260 GTX but works fine for my old system.

Blue power light is BRIGHT!!! Not good for a PC in a bedroom you want to sleep in.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Case With A Couple Exceptions

Pros: 120mm fans are quiet and allow computer to be in open.
Toolless design works great. They have over the years modified the toolless design from using plastic clips on the case to using screws. I haven't decided which design I like better.
Plenty of room for MicroATX motherboards.
No sharp edges that I have found yet.

Cons: The front drive covers are a real pain. You have to make sure you apply no pressure to them or they will pop-out. The CD ROM bays are also flimsy and have ended up missing on the two oldest cases.

The Power Supply would be the other issue with these. They seem cheap compared to other PSUs I have had. One PSU died the first time we turned it on (NewEgg gave me a credit and I purchased another one for the case). I lost a second PSU after a 20 months.

The other PSU issue is the length of the cables. These are almost too short to use on the lower hard drive bays.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased 3 of these over the last year and half. I am very pleased with the overall look, but had to give it 3 eggs because of the cons.

There is a version without the PSU and I would recommend getting that with another PSU.

2 out of 5 eggsDead powersupply

Pros: Solid case, easy open.

Cons: Powersupply died within one month of use. Not really a ton of heavy apps was just WoW + webbrowsing with a AMD X2 and 8800GT. Ended up getting a 500w thermaltake to replace it.

2 out of 5 eggsPower Supply is Useless

Pros: Case construction is excellent. Very solid feel and rounded edges to keep from getting those annoying cuts.

Cons: Power supply popped as soon as I pressed the power button with a nice cloud of smoke.

Other Thoughts: Contacted newegg and was advised to contact the manufacturer. After contacting them was told I would need to mail them the part and then pay shipping both ways essentially costing me the same price of just a new power supply unit anyway and with a minimum of a 10 business wait. This is the last Rosewill power supply unit I will own.

1 out of 5 eggsSpend the extra money and buy something better!

Pros: Looks nice!

Cons: 1. The SATA power cable from the included supply is much too short to reach your drives in the bottom drive cage.
2. They sent me adapters, which took weeks to receive, to go from the standard IDE power connector to SATA power connector. Problem was they were the wrong gender. You would think since they build them they would know what the proper gender should be.
3. When removing the front cover I discovered that the bottom two pegs which lock into the case were cracked and they came off completely. They have yet to answer me back about replacing it.
4. I have been having a problem with the front USB jacks in that when you touch them, it causes my computer to reset. Obviously a grounding problem. I know a little about this since I work in the electronics field.

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and buy a better case from a different manufacturer with a better reputation and one that knows their product. Also, when they sent the adapters they used a standard letter envelope which arrived ripped open from the adapters. I would think a company like them could afford a proper shipping envelope or box.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value

Pros: 450 watt ps with sturdy case for $60. Can't beat it. No tools (mostly) required.

Cons: Wires a bit short. Had to run mb power tight against board and up against my CPU cooler to make it reach. SATA power leads required relocating HD and DVD. Inconvenient, but not a show stopper.

Other Thoughts: Intel E8400 and 9800GTX. Power seems sufficient. Big CPU cooler will require removal of side air cowl. Buy an extra fan for the side when you order it so you won't have to do it later, like me. Would buy another one.
