The Rosewill R5717 BK is full of features that make it a cinch to build in, and make your new system look good! There's plenty of room for expansion with five external drive bays (four 5.25" and one 3.5") and four internal 3.5" drive bays. 7 expansion slots on the back give room for add on cards, and mount your drives without pain with tool-less rails for hard drives and optical drives.

Recognizing that your system needs air to run right, Rosewill included plenty of ways to keep your system running cool, including a 120mm fan and a dedicated duct for the CPU fan. Side vents by the expansion slots and drive cage help all of the components running cool in the hottest situations. The front vent has an easily cleaned filter to keep the dust down.

The distinctive black case adds a distinguished look to your office without being gaudy. A small folding door above the power and reset buttons keeps the 3.5" bay and front USB and audio ports hidden and dust free when not in use. Build the system you need in the case that'll keep it happy and safe!

5 out of 5 eggsbest case I've owned

Pros: The hard drives face towards you when you open the case.
The case is squat.
It has plenty of room for devices and cables, even though it's small.
CD-ROMs and hard drives require no tools to install.
The drive mounts don't vibrate much.
The factory fan is quiet.

Cons: The air filter never needs cleaning, so I don't think it does anything.

Other Thoughts: I can't find a comparable case for a similar price. Rosewill's newer cases seem cheap.

3 out of 5 eggsHad its good and bad

Pros: Good airflow, good steel, nice finish, plenty of room, easy and accurate power/reset buttons.

Cons: First issue was in the removal of the optical drive covers. It took breaking it to get it out. I studied that problem for an hour till I had no other option but a forceful push. Of course it cut me during the breakage.

Second, It may be tool free to work with once finished, but there were a few screws that needed a driver for the build.

The tool free setup for the optical drives wasn't well planned out. Unless you have three hands. So those got screws also.

The biggest con was the top mounted fan. I had to relocate it forward a 1/4 inch in order for the PS to fit.

Other Thoughts: For a mid class case it needs more than 2 front USB ports, JMHO

Plus the CPU inlet doesn't come close to lining up with the CPU, but that seems to be the norm with AMD boards at least.

Power LED up front is the typical 'blinding blue', but that should fade in time

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price

Pros: This is a great case. Has some serious airflow features not seen on higher end cases.

Cons: The Thumbscrew on the drive cage was WAY too tight and required the use of a screwdriver to remove.

5 out of 5 eggsSturdy, slick looking black case

Pros: Just got this case today and am very impressed with it so far. Easy to install my components, came with 4 fans, front and CPU intake filters. One of the first things I noticed was that the case itself was actually rather sturdy, I expected less for this price. panels can be removed from both sides of the computer for easy mounting and access to the other fan. The HD tray can be slid out and be mounted so your cables face the side or back of your case. Overall I was very impressed with this case and will not be sketchy about buying from Rosewill ever again.

Cons: Only comes with one card cover in the back, the rest are kinda soldered on there, you just gotta remove what you need, I suggest doing this before installing your motherboard and making the mistake I did. Not entirely sure I like the top fan, didn't really notice it before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: I will most likely be getting another 120mm fan for the side panel along with a filter, seems to me like theres alot more exhaust fans on this thing than their are intakes, wouldn't hurt to help keep the case clean.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent case, good value

Pros: • Came with 4 fans
• Nice removable hard drive cage
• Low price

Cons: • Case is taller than the height in specs
• Steel is thin and flexible
• Case itself and hard drive cage were not square

Other Thoughts: On the positive side, the pictures and description do not show it, but the case came with 2 front fans, 1 rear fan, and 1 "blowhole" top fan. I like the choice to put the hard drive cage in two different orientations.

On the negative side, the steel the case is made from is cheap and thin (just as I expected for the price). The case wasn't quite square out-of-the-box, only three feet touched the ground at once. But because the steel is thin I was able to easily tweak the case into shape just leaning on it. The hard drive cage gets warped when hard drives are installed, so you have to mess with it a bit to get it back into place. Also, the connector wires coming from the very front fan are too short to plug into the fan header on my motherboard.

I'm not disappointed, I think that this is a good case for the low, low price.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed

Pros: I was completely satisfied when i opened the box and saw what was inside. Well constructed, Awsome venting and it comes with 4 fans one back one topone side to vent the hard drives and one front. Has a filter and a spot for one more fan on the other side

Cons: Just like any other box bad instructions but not realy a con.

Other Thoughts: For $35 You can not go wrong. If you want lights and all that stuff this is not the one for you its just plain jane but a great box for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the money

Pros: Inexpensive, plenty of room, drive bays and good air flow. Very sturdy for the price. 120 mm fan relatively quiet.

Cons: Fan doesn't have motherboard header, so always running full speed unless you have a fan speed controller.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: has lasted about a year no problems

Cons: the little filter piece on the side sort of broke when i took it out no day, no big deal to me though

Other Thoughts: the "scoop" looking piece that would sit where your cpu is only gets in the way, i took mine off and replaced it with a red led light strip....but it burnt out forever ago

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap

I was weary of the tool-free idea, but it works just fine. Nothing has broken in my case for over a year of use. So I'd say these guys are reliable.

Cons: I have a suspicion that the front USB ports kill USB devices. I have had two USB devices stop functioning when they have been plugged into the front ports when they worked fine with other computers before. Thankfully I got them replaced.

The rear ports are fine.

Other Thoughts: I gave it four eggs because of the front USB ports giving me dangerous problems (I could've lost valuable data!). However, I can't complain much for the price. Plus my old tech school has uses Rosewill cases and their front ports work fine, so I just got a rare dud.

I would buy if I built another cheap system.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience, and will be more than happy to handle this for you. Please contact rma@rosewill.com for your front replacement replacement at our cost. We look forward to hear from you.

Best Regards,
Rosewill

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome! Great Product!!!!

Pros: Lots of room inside. Came with 4 fan, that's 4 FANS installed. This case is very clean looking, I ordered 10 for an insurance company I am doing an all new build for and I was very surprised at the quality. I expect good results from Rosewill, but this is far above expectations.

Cons: None so far, but I have only thoroughly looked at 5 of the 10 that I ordered so far, if there is an update I will change my review.
