The Rosewill 600 series computer case was designed with an eye toward heat dissipation. This 604 case uses air ducts on the front for drawing cool air in, and pushing hot air out the side and the back of the case, this case is ideal for cooling any system. The front ducts are also adjustable so when less air intake is needed the case allows for the ducts to be closed keeping dust out. In addition the front filter traps dust before it can reach the inside of the case. A removable hard drive cage allows for easy installation for multiple hard drives. The top of the case is designed for optical drives which include sliding rails for an easy install, and when you need to replace an old device just slide it out and pop in a new one. Next to the power button you will find 2 USB ports and 2 audio ports as well as a flip top to hide them. This model, the R604-P SL has a front panel that is finished in silver.

4 out of 5 eggsFor the price

Pros: First off, lets just say that the price is great for what it is. Its design is well made so there is no faceoffs slightly off or the back expansion slots aren't off or the case doesn't seem to "lean" when putting in video card or other devices.

It had plenty of spots to install chasis fans, easy install mounts for screwless installation. Plus you could easily remove the easy mounts.

Cons: Nothing to my taste.

4 out of 5 eggsI really like this case

Pros: Case looks nice. Great airflow. I added a 2nd fan to the front of the case (120mm, although I think a 92mm and 80mm fit as well). Solidly built for the price. I got it for $39 with free shipping.

Cons: Power LED is way too bright, like a night light. I replaced it with a muted green LED from Radio Shack, and it made a huge difference. The DVD/CD face plates are weird. I simply removed the one to install my DVD burner, and it looks much nicer. I could never get my front audio jacks to work.

Other Thoughts: If you can't get your front USB to work, you probably have it wired wrong. For some reason Rosewill separates the top and bottom of the USB plug. Make sure both the red wires are beside each other.

4 out of 5 eggsQuality case

Pros: Nice case, good airflow. Easy set-up for the most part. Decent 120mm fan included. Everything had a good quality feel to it. Price is definitely right.

Cons: The cons are not really deal-breakers but...The side panel could slide on better. I have to monkey with it everytime to get it closed. I had some trouble getting the optical drive in but was able to get it to slide in after filing down a couple plastic posts that stuck out. The fan is a bit noisy. And there was no manual, again not really a big deal, who reads those things anyway. Besides a downloadable PDF is available.

2 out of 5 eggsSo so....

Pros: Not bad for the money.

Cons: Your case panel will be really pressing against the hard drive wires.

4 out of 5 eggsInexpensive and pretty good

Pros: It doesn't cost much, and has a movable fan, front usb ports, and it all works.

Cons: You gotta bend out all the expansion slot covers but one, which is not idea. The tool-less mounting kit is useless, but easy to remove.

Other Thoughts: Got it on a combo deal with a 500W PSU, so it might not be as good a deal now as it was then. First one got crushed in transit by UPS, but newegg sent me a new one, so it's all good.

I'd recommend taking out the case fan and mounting it on the side panel, as that'll keep a graphics card cooler. Might also get a second case fan, just to ensure the air circulation is good.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent, inexpensive case

Pros: Inexpensive, roomy (can fit a huge Xigmatech Rifle cooler in there), lots of storage bays, removable air filter, quiet case fan, nice power button and HD LED. Overall very nice for the price.

Cons: Lots of minor annoyances but no major problems. Overall this case feels cheaper than most of the other Rosewill products I've purchased, including one of their even cheaper/smaller cases. There's simply a lot of plastic used, particularly the integrated "quick" lock rails for the upper bays. I found them difficult to use. The mobo slot covers are hard to remove. I had one thumb screw hole for the case side mis-tapped and is difficult to use.

Other Thoughts: Overall I think the case would have been better if it didn't have the plastic integrated drive rails and simply forced you to use screws. Actually, I think you can unscrew them and use screws if you were so inclined. Note the entire front of the case can be easily removed which aides in drive installation, then easily snapped back into place.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We apologize for the inconvenience, and will be more than happy to handle this for you. Please download R604 Tool Free Installation guide. We hope that can help you.

Best Regards,

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: Tool free 5.25" install bays and 3.5" for floppy drives.

3 -120mm fans can be added. ( -1 that comes with it )

Easy removal of removeable hardrive bay.

Power supply is supported on 2 sides.

Good amount of extra room around motherboard and drive installation area for cables.

Easy front vent control. (Even when closed, due to the holes, it flows quite nicely)

Enough room for cable management, if you take the time.

Everything installed flawlessly, and no case defects.

Cons: 3.5" tool free do not apply to hard drives, they still require screws. (the holes for this are perfectly aligned)

Sharp edges where the removable hard drive bay slides across on both top and bottom.

The case 5.25" faceplates fit loose, but no problem as long as you don't hit them hard, or take them for a ride in your car to a lan party.

The 2 faceplates for the Cd-Drives aren't thought out well, you can open them normally but if you want to use the button on your drive to close them again, it is blocked by the door that swings down, making you push your drive closed. (personally I have always pushed my drive closed so it doesn't bother me)

Other Thoughts: Rig Specs:

Intel Q9550 @ 2.83Ghz (Stock)
Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR
4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Reaper 1066
An Old Nvidia 7900GS 256mb 128bit GDDR3 (Going to upgrade soon, but still works amazingly well at res of 1900x1200. Average 80fps on most games maxed out)
Power Supply: OCZ 700 GXSSLI 700w - 800w Peak
An Old Audigy 2 Sound Blaster ( Just for kicks )
Rosewill 74 in 1 Card reader/writer
Maxtor 750 GB 32mb cache 7200rpm SATA II

3 out of 5 eggsGood case but one problem - service from Newegg!

Pros: Nice case, roomy, quiet fan. Cooler than my old case. Everything went into it easily once those silly tool-less drive assemblies were removed. Really, how hard is it to set in place 4 screws to attach each drive securely?

Cons: Arrived with no connector on the front panel audio I/O. Did not catch this until after the system was together. Despite this being a sub-assembly secured with two screws, Newegg wants me to un-install my system, send the case back and wait for a new case to arrive. Seems simpler to send just this assembly. Will try Rosewill next and hope for a sane response.

Other Thoughts: After many years of dealing with Newegg, this is the first time they have not supported their products. The "customer service" rep emailed that there is no indication there should be a 10 pin connector on the MB end, yet the manual and included drawing clearly show this connector. Maybe just a stubborn rep but I need audio I/O at the front of this machine.....

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We try to provide the most reliable products to our customers. We are not sure why there was no front panel audio on this unit. We would be more than happy, if under warranty, to ship you out a front I/O Port assembly for this unit for you. Please email us at for your replacement. We look forward to hear from you soon.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Buy

Pros: Everything you need for a "basic" configuration for an outstanding price

Cons: Nothing missign that I wouldn't expect to pay more for

Other Thoughts: I've built well over 100 computers. Based on the other reviews, I decided to take a chance on this case (how good could it be at the price & with free shipping???). Extremely pleased with the case for the price. Yes, there are better cases, but not for cost. Just purchased 13 more.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: As soon as I got this case, the first thing that I noticed was how gorgeous it looked. The power button on the front looks awesome, the screws are easy to take off, the expansion slots on the front are easily removable, the case is nice and spacious, and you don't have to screw anything in. you can just lock them in place!

The extra room that this case has is great for PSU's with lots of cords that you don't use and need to tuck out of the way to increase air flow (like the Corsair's TX750W).

Cons: Sides of the case scratch VERY easily. My advice: Be careful when placing them somewhere, be conscience of what you're placing next to it, and don't drag the sides around.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to screw your stuff in anyways. Even though it does have some VERY tight clamps, are you willing to take the risk of having your CD drive or something fall out of place? I don't think so.
