3 out of 5 eggsFINAL UPDATE TO REVIEW

Pros: .

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: I noticed the 3.0 USB slots were a little slow. USB sticks that should be reading 100MB/s is only reading 40MB/s and then gradually slows down to like 15MB/s over the course of a few mins. I bought the Anker® Uspeed PCI-E to USB 3.0 2 Port Express Card, with 1 USB 3.0 20-pin Connector and 5V 4 Pin Male Power Connector and plugged that into my USB 3.0 I/O connector on my motherboard. I also purchased the Anker® 3.5 inch Front Panel USB Hub with 2 USB 3.0 Ports [20 Pin Connector & 2ft Adapter Cable] and that combo gave me 100MB+ sustained reads on the same devices. Just FYI in case your USB 3.0 devices have poor transfer speeds. Don't blame the device makers.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Tower would buy again

Pros: Quiet tower, good fan count and placement, easy dust removal process, easy mobo installation. Easy to take off covers for maintenance... nice, simple look with a good design.

Cons: Issues with front panel 1/8 inch audio input - the unit is poorly installed and lost its usefulness within three months, requires a replacement. There's a back-up audio input in rear so I have been using that.

Other Thoughts: I'm happy with the tower despite the relatively shoddy craftsmanship on the front panel; everything else has been great.

4 out of 5 eggsGood case

Pros: -Well ventilated.
-Fans are quiet
-plenty of docks for hard drives and CD/DVD drives
-provides channeling for cable management.
-SUPER durable and VERY light. I cannot stress how important that is for going to LAN parties.

Cons: -A lot of vents and fans mean a lot dust.
-The front headphone and mic jacks are prone to being hit by knees often when a headphone or mic is plugged in. That makes it easier to break headsets.

Other Thoughts: concerning the dust problem: Either buy additional fan filters (They are cheap to get ) or give it a good cleaning inside at least once every 3 months to keep dust build up to a minimum. Its not hard and its quick to do.

5 out of 5 eggsJust as good as the USB 2.0 version

Pros: If you want a case with a lot of room, then this is the one. I have the USB 2.0 version that I bought 4 years ago and it is still an awesome case but lacks the USB 3.0 support which is the only difference. Excellent wire management, plenty of room for hard disk and other components. This case also has the ports for water cooling.

The construction is very solid unlike some of the other cases I have owned.

Cons: The side panels are a little flimsy but not a big deal.

3 out of 5 eggsMY GIFT TO YOU ALL - SOLUTION FOR USB 3.0 PORTS KEEP COMING LOOSE.

Pros: Update to prior review

Cons: Two eggs off for super poor USB connector/port design and making me have to dish out extra money to fix something that shouldn't have been broken in the first place.

Other Thoughts: As noted by many reviewers, the USB 3.0 ports can come loose. This is due to poor workmanship and horrible design. The clown who came up with this shortcut should be fired. Unlike the USB 2.0 version of this case (which I have ZERO qualms about), this USB 3.0 version has super loose fitting USB ports. As you insert a USB device, notice you can wiggle it up and down. That is because the only thing holding this sucker to the case are two stupid little metal pieces that they've held to the case with some really weak glue.

Instead of tossing the case out the trash, I decided to go on @/\/\@Z0|\| and purchase a superglue called Krazy Glue KG48348MR. Since the USB connector is held by these two dumb metal pieces only (and thus making the USB connector unstable horizontally), I elected to cut off a very tiny square of sturdy but thin cardboard (a tiny little box I got from an Anker product, who BTW has awesome workmanship). I then superglued the cardboard to the bottom of the USB connector, on the flat area. You can't miss it when you take this sucker apart. Next, I put superglue on the other side of the cardboard and a little superglue on the metal pieces. I carefully insert the USB connector into the slot (while using a headlamp to look into the slot from the outside). I position it until the USB connector's two metal pieces find their correct rest spots. I press the USB cable/connector down using my fingers (on the hand that is on the inside of the case) firmly for about a minute. I then taped the outside of the USB port with strong clear shipping tape to somewhat hold it in position for 24 hours. I used the cardboard to stabilize the USB connector, horizontally. So basically the USB connector is superglued to the cardboard, and the cardboard is superglued to the case itself, effectively locking the USB connector to the case. After doing all this, the sucker isn't moving anymore. The other USB port that hadn't fully come off yet (and therefore I haven't fixed yet with this technique) is wiggling like crazy. If you are having this same problem, you can try what I did.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case at a great price

Pros: Lightweight, mostly tool less and easy to work with. USB 3 in front is nice. Good cable manegement

Cons: PCI card slots on the back aren't thumb screws but those can be easily replaced. Only comes with one ssd caddy.

Other Thoughts: I bought this case to replace my Thor V2 case. This weighs less than half of what that case does. SO much easier to handle and manage. Has plenty of room to work in (the main reason I had the Thor before). Can even accept extended atx boards (mine is a mini atx so I have more room).

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: Sturdy, well designed, with plenty of ventilation

Cons: 1.) One USB 3.0 slot in front came loose (like entirely loose) the first time I used it. The other one is wiggling like crazy and will come loose within days I'm sure.
2.) The clown who put in the small case for card readers (or floppies if you still use them) put the cage upside down. The screw slots do not match unless I put my card readers upside down. I tried multiple card readers INCLUDING a ROSEWILL one. What the hill?

Other Thoughts: I bought two Rosewill Challenger USB 2.0 cases in the past. They are flawless and the USB ports have never came loose. Being that I bought this sucker for the USB 3.0 slots, and the slots are friggen worthless, I feel I have to warn anyone WHO WANTS TO USE THE USB 3.0 SLOTS to NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF TRASH. You have been warned.

4 out of 5 eggsCHALLENGER-U3 case

Pros: see 10/4/2014 11:02:32 AM

Cons: Well kept my fingers crossed but maybe should have given front panel problems in reviews more credence. The front panel connectors were a major buying consideration. The ESata socket no longer works. Rosewell does not cross ship so I must order complete case and the return a complete case. Their customer service was prompt and helpful. I will update as needed.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat if power button worked

Pros: Lots of drive bays, quick release for almost all connections, easy to remove and put back side covers. Nice fan placement and light upfront.

Cons: Breakaway front panel connectors are easy to fail. Hard drive light also failed.

Other Thoughts: I like this case especially the drive slots. But, there are two breakaway wires on the front panel without enough slack. Several times I've removed the front panel to get to the 3.5" drive bays and these little wires pop off. It's been easy to get them back on (OK not easy. It's a pain) but now they won't work for the power button. There is plenty of contact but this is a deal breaker for me. The HDD light is also out. I assume for the same reason.

3 out of 5 eggsOnly 1 USB port is functional.

Pros: Well designed case, quiet fans.

Cons: Only one of the USB 3.0 ports on the front is functional. The other simply does not work. Very disappointed.
