Decent case, after some work
- Pros: This case has a nice look to it. It is relatively sturdy and is constructed pretty well for a budget case. I liked the optical drive door - it's nice if you have a white optical drive that would otherwise not match with the case.
- Cons: When I received the case, the power button was off and knocking around in the box. I had to pull the front panel off the case and use a couple of screws with large heads in order to secure it. They should definitely address this - it's something most people would not put up with. I would have sent the case back, but I couldn't as the computer wasn't for me and I was on a time budget.
- Other Thoughts: There are better cases out there, and this case is not worh it unless it's on sale. If you have the money, the Antec 300 is a much nicer case and it's on sale sometimes for what this case sells for normally.
Good 'BUDGET' case
- Pros: Reasonably sturdy, considering the price. Don't compare it to a $100+ case. I wasn't sure if my Rosewill 550w PSU would fit, the wires are a bit tight against the side cover but it works just fine. Came with an ext. for cpu pwr cable. The side panel isn't see through, so it hides the wires for you. Can't say about opt drive cover, don't use em, never will. My 1950 pro fit, though it was a little tricky hooking it and the hdd up.
- Cons: Tool less hdd is center slot only. PSU switch behind panel, but not that big a deal-just pull the plug. Or, if you're working inside, use the the same screw driver you pulled the left side cover off with. Front USB jacks use two 4-pin connectors with an extra gnd connector on 1 of them. No instructions on how to hook them up, could cause damage.
- Other Thoughts: Built this one for my daughter(good excuse to upgrade mine). P5k MB, E2200, 2g ddr 800, 1950 pro, WD 320g SATA & 320g IDE, Sony IDE DVD burner, Rosewill 550w PSU. All fit and all working just fine.
Budget Case
- Pros: Has plenty fan mounts to push plenty air through the case ( only 1 120mm fan included though).
- Cons: The back case cover covers the power supply on/off switch so you will need phillips screw driver to remove the cover then turn off the main power supply switch. Flimsy metal. It can't hold a candle to my Antec case. There is absolutely NO WAY you can hide your wires within this case. Also don't expect a informative instruction sheet if you are new at this.
- Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, just keep that in mind. It could not accomodate my OCZ Powerstream 520W (size) so don't think you will put a large PSU in it. I had to use my old Antec Smartpower 400 but since this is just for a CSS game server it should be fine. Somebody looking to make a extreme overclocking rig avoid this.
