5 out of 5 eggsOne of the greatest bargains on NewEgg

Pros: Absolutely great case. Solid, roomy, plenty of ways to mount fans, easy front access to everything needed. And inexpensive.

Cons: No longer available.

Other Thoughts: This enclosure coupled with a pair of SNT RAID cages (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817993016) is a low cost and very, very effective server case for up to 8 drives with front access for hot swap. I can hardly imagine a better setup for anything near the price. I've had this setup for over a year and it looks to me like it will keep running for another 5 to 10.

4 out of 5 eggsVery flexible server case

Pros: This case can hold a substantial amount of hardware, and in seemingly infinite variety. As another reviewer stated, the motherboard mounting options are quite varied. As I moved my hardware into the case, I slowly realized just how many ways I could change around the case's configuration. The metal bar that goes across the top can be moved between two different locations and/or flipped around, and the hard drive cage and card stabilizers (or whatever you call those) can be moved to any location on that bar or removed. I think if you were willing to put your hard drives very close together, you could fit 14 or more 3.5" drives in this chassis.

This case also includes a power supply bracket, which can be removed to accommodate a larger power supply. I recently had to order one of these for an older case, so it was nice to see this case ready for both sizes.

Cons: The 3.5" drive locations on the very bottom of the front bays become very hard to reach with cables if you put larger 5.25" drives above them, or even 3.5" drives with the front fan in, because they stick out. You could unscrew the drive cages, hook up the cables, and then screw in, but that's not an ideal scenario.

Rails for drive mounting would have been nice.

It's kind of hard to find a good place for the top-bar-mounted drive cage, where it won't interfere with other peripherals. I ended up removing it.

Other Thoughts: Other reviewers mentioned fan noise. I've got an ASUS board in there with QFAN, set to 'Optimal', and I'm not hearing too much noise. I left in the big front fan, but swapped out the 80mm back fan with an old Vantec Stealth, and added another one to the empty bracket beside it. Maybe it was the 80mm fan included that people found so loud?

Also, from the pictures it looks like the drive mounting locations are all welded in place, but actually they're all just held in with a combination of tabs and screws. Unscrewing a few things will let you take out all of the drive cages as you please. Also, the plates covering the fronts of the cages are held in with tabs and screws. On other cases I've used, the metal plates initially in place there have to be snapped off. I suppose this is partially because there are no plastic filler plates to go in the very front.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic 4U rack case, esp. for the price

Pros: Far less expensive than most other cases. Very good quality. Everything needed is in the box (huge bag of hardware). Superbly boxed in an enormous double-thickness corrugated box. Fits ATX mobo perfectly, no issues. Lots of room for mobo, hard drives in front, and a bank of fans in between if desired. Separate slim optical drive opening beneath the left front drive bay.

I also bought two 4-drive SATA backplanes to place in the front (SNT SNT-SAC3141B) which fit perfectly, giving me 8 SATA drives all accessible from the front with good cooling airflow all the way through. And there's still room for more.

Cons: Not much, except that it could have included a second rear fan and a specific way to mount fans in the middle of the box (between drive bays and mobo).

Placement of power switch on front is a little worrisome; too easy to hit accidentally. You could of course just not wire it up if you don't want to hit it accidentally.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am thrilled with this case, and would have paid twice as much. I installed a 120mm fan (included) between drive bays and mobo by drilling one small hole in the fan's mounting bracket.

This is a fantastic light- to medium-duty rackmount case with a lot of room, excellent airflow, and everything needed for a home or small office server. I have it in a separate computer closet with closed doors and the noise is fine also.

4 out of 5 eggsWell Build But LOUD

Pros: * Very solid construction, well built
* Very spacious (obviously since it is a 4U)
* Included fans can be connected to 4-pin MOLEX or to the motherboard "case fan" connectors
* Has a dust filter
* Good air flow

Cons: * VERY heavy, but that is unavoidable with such a big case made with such thick metal
* The included fans running unhindered are obnoxiously loud
* Didn't come with rack-mounting rails
* Doesn't include hot-swap HDD bays

Other Thoughts: Very nice case overall, just need to make sure that you don't keep it anywhere near you or in a sound proof room, unless you switch out the fans for ones that run more quietly or do something to slow down the RPMs of the included ones.

5 out of 5 eggsLarge and In Charge

Pros: Probably the best server case I've ever worked with in this price range. Honestly the case is a steal at $100. Very well thought out design, very sturdy, has mounting holes for every type of motherboard imaginable. Plenty of room for a big power supplys + cabling and easy access to drives, which from what I count, it's possible to hold 14 - 3.5" HDD if one were not to use any optical drives! Expansion card hold down a nice touch. Nice locking front with replaceable filter media. Good airflow throughout the case with included fan design. Newegg included free heavy duty rails as a promo which are also high quality.

Cons: The rack mount handles should be a little bit longer so the chassis is easier to grip when the face is folded up.

Other Thoughts: I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and would recommend the case to others building a fast full ATX machine. I'm using this as the base to my dual SLI i7 build.

The case is LARGE!, doesn't look that big in the pictures but I was shocked to see how large the case actually is when I got it out of it's double boxed shipping arrangement. I've been building 2U machines for awhile, maybe that's why the 4U feels so big. In any event the size is good for a high end dual video card setup.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Case

Pros: This is an amazing case. It holds about 12 drives with the configuration provided, but from the looks of things it can go up to 16 or 17. Is a great case for a main file server system. The design and layout means that unlike most case manufacturers, a good deal of thought went into its design.

Cons: The washers and rubber dampers on the 5.25" cages fall off and I've already lost a washer in the process. Also, you only get 5 5.25" -> 3.5" adapters when you could really use 10 of them. And the plastic thingys that hold down the expansion cards were loose when I took it out of the box and needed reseating. Really though, none of these are major cons, so I still think it's worth 5 eggs

Other Thoughts: I would really like to know from Rosewill if and where I can get 5 more sets of those 5.25" -> 3.5" drive adapters.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This is a very nice case...especially considering the price....if it goes on sale again I'll pick up 2 or 3 more...nice construction as well as fit and finish. it came double boxed and arrived in great shape. The fans do make a LOT of noise but they also move a LOT of air. I replaced the 120mm front fan with something quieter and slowed down the rear 80mm fan.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased with this purchase and hope to see this case on sale again soon!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: see other reviews

Cons: If you want to buy nicer 5.25 to 3.5 adapters to try and dampen some of the drive vibrations, then the front fans will block the drives from being installed. I had to remove the fan bracket and drill some screw holes to make it work. The metal adapters that come with the case work fine, but the case only comes with 5 of them.

Other Thoughts: There are six 5.25 bays that you can use a total of ten 3.5 to 5.25 adapters on. If all of them are filled, then there is no space between the hard drives. They should have only fit 8 of the adapters in the six bays so that there is space between adjacent drives.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Well laid out, great disk and drive management, fan placement and card guides. This case is awesome. Plenty of space and great price. Quality construction, arrived in pristine condition. I like the fold-down face to cover everything when not being used.

Cons: The only con I can see is not enough spots for hard drives. It has a cage to suspend two, but would be nice to have another cage for a couple more. There's definitely room in the case for it.

Other Thoughts: I don't think you'll find a better value out there. Utility + Price on this make it the runaway choice for rackmount cases.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: great case, solid as a rock, redundunt power supplies fit like a glove.

Cons: There was a few missing locations for standoffs for my TYAN S7012GM4NR Dual LGA 1366 Intel 5520 SSI EEB Dual Intel Xeon Processor 5500 Series Server Motherboard, its fine but I had to be carful to support the motherboard when installing memory for the front processor

Other Thoughts: I am using some of the small holes under the right side drive bays to install indicator LEDs for the redundent 500watt power supplies, nice to see the problem from the front without climbing around my server rack.
don't forget to get rails(drawer slides) for installing in rack
