"Engineering, I need more power!" "Cap'n, the engines are near to meltin' now; she canna do it!"
Heat has always been the bane of machinery, and computers are no exception. Even as processors are designed to generate less heat, we users pile on more hard drives, more powerful graphics boards, and try to squeeze as many boards into the case as we can. Rosewill's mid-sized tower has two 120mm intake fans and a 120 mm exhaust fan, and you can add a fourth fan to the side panel if you like.
Designed for the ATX and mini ATX motherboards, with nine 5.25" drive bays and six 3.5" hard drive bays, and seven slots for expansion boards, this steel case lets you cram a lot into a little without breaking a sweat. Is this the case you need? I don't know. But I bet your own Chief Engineer will thank you for it.
Pros: Sturdy, sleek, well constructed, excellent airflow, intelligent interior design. This case surprised me with the quality of materials and construction. It's fairly sturdy and all panels fit back together well without any warp or shift to the case or panels. Panels were not flimsy. Case internal design is well above expectation. This case provides a flexibility with drive management that I have yet to see in another low to mid budget case. HDD, FDD, and Optical drive placement can be customized to fit user needs. Each 3 bay HDD tray can be moved (comes with 2) to position your drives to where they are more convenient. HDD trays are designed to give good airflow, above and below each drive to help reduce heat. 120mm fans are silent, well mounted and provide enough airflow to keep the case interior well cooled especially with good cable management. Cables for the IEEE 1394 port on the front can be removed if not needed. Expansion ports on the top are very sturdy.
Cons: Hardware included only had 7 standoffs so full sized ATX boards measuring 12.0" x 9.6" will need to get extra standoffs. I must agree with other users that mounting HDD's in this case is not an easily accomplished task. I would say that new system builders should get a little experience or should be slightly mechanically inclined before purchasing this case. Fans utilize 3 pin connectors with no adapters. While flexibility to remove the IEEE 1394 cable was included, the audio header cable and the USB header cable are integrated into the same plug so if you remove one you remove both. Case length is not good for long video cards. Some may work but will fit a little snug. The edge of my motherboard (12.0" x 9.6") comes right to the edge of my HDD's. Front 5.25 bay covers are difficult to remove. I found it easiest to remove them from after taking off the front face.
Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this case to any mid level system builder or higher especially if looking for a good HDD cooling solution or that needs the ability to expand to 9 HDDs. This case has a wonderful design. Flexibility more than makes up for the slight extra work involved to mount HDD's. Any highly experienced system builder would appreciate this cases ability to adapt to the needs of the system. Users manual is easy to understand and includes instrucitions for how to change the hinge on the front door to swing the opposite way. Overall I am very happy with this case. Newegg had this on my door within 2 days.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and will be more than happy to handle this for you. Please contact rma@rosewill.com for your standoff replacement at our cost. We look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards, Rosewill

Sturdy case

Pros: Case is really attractive and has excellent airflow. The door can easily be flopped to open the other direction (first thing I did). It's very sturdy and well-built, and easy to install all your components. There is plenty of room for drives, large video card(s), and any extra cards you want to throw in. Everything fits well together, and most of it is tool-free. The side window is thicker than usual plexi, so won't crack like many cheaper ones. It has ventilation holes and spots to add two extra case fans if you want.
Cons: The power switch is right on top and easy to accidentally push if you set something up there (or if your naughty cat likes to inspect). The secondary USB, mic, and audio ports are also on top, and collect dust unless you keep them covered. The hard drive cage is really clunky and difficult to work with, but was fine if you install the hard drive(s) before the motherboard and slide it in from the inside. Use a magnetic screwdriver! I gave it 4 stars because of that. If you swap hard drives a lot, you might want to get a case that's a little easier to work with. If you're putting in a very long video card, don't install the hard drive opposite the PCI-e slot. I wish the door opened a tiny bit wider.
Other Thoughts: I'd recommend this case if you're comfortable with the strange hard drive cage contraption. I didn't have much trouble with it, but it seemed like a lot of extra work for something that's not supposed to be difficult.

Pros: Good airflow, filters for front mesh area, top mounted controls don't feel flimsy, sturdy chassis.
Cons: The included 3-pin fans, which are Silverstone, move air but are a little noisy at their default ~1400 rpm speed, but if you use a fan controller to keep them ~1000-1200 rpm they're quiet. Drive cages can be a pain if you don't have a magnetic screwdriver. This case might be a bit short if you have a long video card.
Other Thoughts: Second time I've used this for a budget build, and it has not disappointed me yet. It keeps the inside components cool and it looks nice w/o being flamboyant.

Pros: - Good looking LEDs - Side window/vent - Great fan placement - Easily remove side panels to gain access to both sides of the case. - Door in front is easily removed or to change sides.
Cons: - The HDD cases are terrible to deal with. Luckily for my first few hard drives I had a magnetic screw driver which made installing them trivial. Adding a third without a magnetic screw driver was a nightmare. - The hard drive cages are rather wide, making room for motherboards, graphics cards (my 8800GTS barely misses my hard drives), and even wiring for the bigger motherboards terribly difficult. - The cords for the power / hdd light / etc are very thin and if accidentally unwrapped, very messy and hard to deal with.
Other Thoughts: Removing the door seems to be the best thing to do with it. I didn't find the front so attractive at first, though having to open the door every time I wished to use the CD drives became a problem.

Darn Good Case...

Pros: Price, 3 Silverstone 3-pin 120mm fans (hey that's worth at least $24 right there), ventilation, roomy interior for most builds, controls and ports on top of case for easy accessibility, durable chassis (survived a 4-ft drop w/o any dents).
Other Thoughts: First Rosewill case I've used for a computer build, but it won't be my last. Installation went fairly smooth minus the issues listed in Cons above. Internal temps were kept in check nicely. I'd like to give this case 4.5 eggs but I can't. If this case had better cable management and a bottom mount for the PSU I'd give it 5 eggs for sure.
