5 out of 5 eggsAwesome HUGE Case

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Well built large interior. I love the tool-less drive bays.
Put in an ASUS 990 Sabretooth fx with an AMD FX-8350
and a Zalman CNPS9900MAX-B cpu cooler
4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance 8gb ram & a Gigabyte GV-N760.
Everything fits! 'Nuff Said.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Don't be discouraged by the few bad reviews. Comparing some of them with my own experiences on this build (my 1st) makes me believe at least some of the reviewers just didn't know what they were doing. The same can be said for some reviews I read on this system's RAM & MB & CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Construction/Quality

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Roomy; many fans on different sides; room makes it easy to route cables and get your hands in to install hardware and plug in wires, harnesses, etc.; several USB ports on top front, at a 45 degree angle (perfect ergonomically, in my opinion); audio jacks on same top external panel; adjustable vents on top.

Cons: None.

If you purchase a full size tower, it will weigh a lot. If you want to complain about the weight, then buy a smaller case and be happy with less space and cramped quarters inside. There is no ideal PC case in which to build a computer. It is a matter of your own preferences. I like room to put whatever I want inside, and room to maneuver hardware and cables.

Other Thoughts: I purchased a companion tower to this one, Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case (black), and was very pleased with it. The computer technicians that saw it when they worked on it were jealous. I have built either myself or through others a lot of custom computers over the past 25 years, and Rosewill has impressed me the most with the quality of their computer cases. I will now ONLY look for Rosewill cases. There may be others out there worth looking at, but my time is valuable and Rosewill is going to get all my business for cases and power supplies.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Has plenty of space and plenty of room for cable management. Also plenty of fans and airflow is perfect. After upgrading my hardware is much cooler.

Cons: A couple of the pins that holds the top and front panels on were broken, but I don't really mind. Enough are left for it to be secure. The front fan with the led's was not working when I received the case, but Rosewill agreed to send me a replacement fan so this isn't really a con.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy with my purchase even with the minor inconveniences.

4 out of 5 eggsVery happy!

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: The cable management is awesome, only the necessary wires are visible and the rest fit in between the motherboard plate and the outer shell.
Overall the case is well built, very sturdy, and very visually pleasing.
The excellent air flow has dropped my GPU temps a clean 5c.

Cons: The only issue I have with this case is that the fan controller buzzes....
I didn't realize that this is a pretty common thing, but regardless I think that should have been avoided in a $140 case.
And fan noise sometimes resonates through the case but only at random at just the right fan speeds...
For those reasons I'm dropping an Egg.

Other Thoughts: Reducing the amount of fans hooked up to the fan controller reduces the noise, so I have the 3 large fans running off the fan controller, and the 1 smaller fan connected to the motherboard. I also added the fan controller and fans from my old case, conveniently locating the speed switches in one of the wire grommet holes on the back panel.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooling, Sweet Design.

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Super spacious, cable management is great but most importantly the cooling; the cooling is awesome, the fans are quite and the fan speed control knobs are extremely useful.

The design of the case is pretty awesome, mainly the reason I got it.

Cons: The size of the case CAN be considered a con if you don't have space for it. Other than that, I feel the front LEDs are a bit lack luster.

4 out of 5 eggsAdequate

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: It is a straight forward Case large enough to accommodate 10 x 13 inch motherboards.

I called it adequate because it contained the necessary drive space and slots to support a Quad SLI Installation.

Cons: Top Plastic case on-off switch needed to be cut away from rest of the plastic up top. The Thermal take 360mm radiator plus 6 fans in push and pull is built on top of the case with spacers plus additional 200mm fan below.

For me it's not a con so much as the cutting away of excess plastic that was present to make everything work. It is not a liquid cooling friendly case.

The two included fan controllers appear inadequate in power capacity, I will be selecting a stronger beefier 5.25 drive bay fan controller for 10 fans or more with a large support for higher wattage/amps. I already am around 20+ Fans. Hindsight tells me that those fan controllers would be helpful but did not realize the extent of the coming fan-madness.

Other Thoughts: I called this case adequate and am happy with the build so far. Coming from 3 Haf-X cases to this to conserve a few dollars I expected to run into challenges related to very large Liquid Cooling Radiators.

When I rebuild this machine someday going towards the year 2020, I am going to have to spend the few hundred dollars that are required of retail cases large enough to both support HTPX and also liquid Cooling radiators up to 480mm. I will not compromise or accept small 240's or 120's just because I am working with a case anymore.

Case builders take note.

There is a change also in the way I build gaming computers or rebuild them related to cases this year. I needed to try this case at least once to see or learn to mod for myself to make the cooling work. Don't let the 4 stars take anything away from this case if you are thinking about regular air cooling.

The Fan controllers are going to be added on. The Case fan controllers with the little knobs will probably be either cut down and removed or given little decorative job powering lights maybe. Nothing important for these.

Part of the reason is the circut board on the fan controller, big center power on off switch and so on has a huge bundle of wires over a inch wide with weight. I am going to have to mod or learn how to establish a strong point so that the power switch does not fail after several thousand boots per year. (And it will, when it does... new case time.)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: Plenty of room, for larger Graphics cards, and larger CPU heatsinks, Very quiet with great cooling, CPU and Graphics card temps down 6-12 dagres, from last case, (Thermaltake Element G). Lots of room for expansion, extra cooling/water cooling. Love the color and LED's.

Cons: Side fan rattled really badly so I'll have to get a new one.

3 out of 5 eggsRe-Review

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: It works.

Doesn't look terrible.

Can change fans/ put more in.

Has a fan controller.

Working as intended.

Cons: Does not have a full black interior as advertised.

Case is a tad too big. I can't route the ATX power through the back, and the CPU power barely fits if you can route it back there too. Trust me, there's more space than you need.

Plastic feels kinda cheap.

Didn't realize it at the time, but I know realize I'm not a big fan of the giant "swing top fins." The slider that opens/closes them is clunky and gets stuck all the time.

Other Thoughts: Writing a re-review.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Perfect

This review is from: Rosewill THOR V2-W White Edition, Gaming ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Supports Up to E-ATX / XL-ATX, Comes with Four Fans

Pros: - Room for everything and the kitchen sink
- Superb air flow
- screwless bays make adding HDDs and optical drives a snap

Cons: - case is just a hair too deep so peripherals barely seat. I had to bend up the flange on my audio card (the one you screw to secure it) to get the front connectors to make contact.
- lever to open top air vents is not easy to operate. Need to push hard and because it's flush with the surface there's not much to push against.

Other Thoughts: While it's a very well designed case, I'm nervous about my peripherals barely seating. I have to occasionally take my rig to a client site and I worry about one loosing contact during transport. This problem could be alleviated with longer standoffs under the motherboard.
