5 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

Pros: The 12x hot swap trays are divided into 3x detachable modules and can be removed, then reused in any 3x 5.25" slot
The hot swap modules can be swapped out for up to 9x 5.25" modules.
Fans are very quiet due to low RPM.
Rugged, this thing is heavy though.
Supports both ATX and server motherboards.
Machining is very accurate, everything is exact fit with room to spare.

Cons: Trays are made of plastic (but are very good quality considering they're plastic).
Swap bays back plane takes up 60% of the available space and undermines the large fans.
Fans don't have much of an effect due to RPM. For those who don't mind noise, I recommend higher RPM fans.
Cannot accommodate 3x GPUs without raiser cables (assuming your last slot is on the very edge of your MB).
5.25" modules are attached via a series of clips, not screws. Vibration could become a problem for those using performance disks.

Other Thoughts: The case knows what its target market (the pro-consumer) and I applaud it for doing mostly the right things for the said segment.

Despite other comments, I didn't have any connectivity problems with the disks even when lazily plugging in my disks.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost!

Pros: Sturdy and Well built. Enclosure is heavy and you can tell it is not cheaply made. due to size, there is plenty of room to install your motherboard of choice. Runs fairly quiet and comes with all the necessary parts for an easy install.

Cons: One of the Hot Swap bays (the middle one) has a slot that is inoperable. It's indicator doesn't turn on, nor does any hard drive show in the bios (and I tried six of them!). To make matters worse, I have to send back the entire enclosure due to one bad hot swap bay! Obviously this will leave me with quite of bit of downtime for my server. I may end up going another route. Don't understand why an entire closure needs to be sent back! Also the hard drive trays are all plastic, so don't get into the habit of frequent drive swaps.

Other Thoughts: Bad Hot swap aside, this enclosure seems good for the money. You can also (easily) replace the the hot swap bays if desired, however you need to make sure the bay door will still close as it is flush with the bays that come with the enclosure. I will have to give three eggs due to a bad drive bay and having to send the entire enclosure for a replacement! A more thorough testing could have prevented this.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cheap case, but not perfect

Pros: Case is an incredible value. Very sturdy, nice large fans. 12 front-facing drive bays.

Cons: The drive bays are a bit flaky, especially since they're not truly hot-swappable (must screw in drives to the trays). Even when fully clicked in, it failed to recognize one drive (a very scary thing when you have only RAID 5).

The case is a bit wide, and wouldn't work with some generic rails I had (although I think Rosewill has rails that will work).

The lock on the front is almost purely cosmetic.

Other Thoughts: This is a VERY good deal for a case. If you push the drives in all the way, it seems to function well. I'm happy with it, although if you want something a bit more high quality go for a Norco case (for lots of bays) or a SuperMicro case (for high quality build and features).

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent for a Home Server

Pros: 12 Hotswap trays, solid construction, quiet fans, locking face, rubber feet, its all black.

Cons: Lid uses small screws, rack mounts cannot be repositioned, rubber feet

Other Thoughts: I use this in a home environment, and consider this a prosumer grade chassis. I've pretty much fell in love with this case. I had a Norco 4020 & 4220 previously and while this doesn't have a backplane This is an equal case. If the backplane matter then this isn't for you. The 80mm fans are a bit loud (I'm not using them) and the 3x 120mm fans are near silent. I have 4 WD 10k HDDs / 3x 3TB WD green HDDs and a few others that I swap out occasionally. All stay very cool and I'm not spacing the drives. Trays are plastic but sturdy enough for home use. locking cover isn't really for security but it does keep kids from accessing it. All black looks nice. The rubber feet are great if you are placing it on a shelf, but may be an issue in a tight rack. I was hoping I would be able to move the ears to the center so I could rack it on a two post, you can't. The only real con I could find is the four tiny screws to secure the lid. Just plain dumb. Fortunately the lid for the case I received is fits snug so I didn't bother putting the screws in.
Overall this is an awesome case for home use. I would even consider it for a small business NAS.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid case with a few quirks

Pros: This thing is SOLID- it is built tough, like a server ought to be. Swing it around by its front handles, pile gear on the lid- it can handle abuse with ease.

It has enough space (and enough standoffs, mounting holes and such) to fit any reasonable combination of parts, even massive server MBs. The included wiring (FP lights, etc.) is long enough to reach anywhere.

Cons: Design flaw: The lid is secured by four tiny (really tiny) screws on the sides. They're hard to handle and easy to lose; I'm always afraid I'll strip one as they're half the size of any other computer screw. Captive thumb screws under the lockable front panel would have been a much better way to secure the lid.

The rear fans aren't the greatest; one of them has a warp or burr in the cowling that I'll have to file off so the blades don't rub it.

Other Thoughts: The hot-swap carriers are a bit flimsy, but quite workable. If you're swapping drives on a weekly basis, get something sturdier; otherwise, these ones are fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Chassis

Pros: The overall build quality is, in my opinion, reasonably high. There's plenty of room and even with all the fans on, it's still pretty quiet.

Cons: The hot swap bays are completely plastic and feel cheap, but what do you expect at this price.

Also, a couple of the screws to hold the top on don't line up 100% correctly unless you push down relatively hard on the lid.

Other Thoughts: Even though it only states it's compatible with up to 2TB drives, it will work with any SATA drive as it's just a simple passthrough data connection with combined power connections. I'm currently running 4x 3TB drives in a 6TB RAID10 flawlessly.

It also occurs to me that the entire front is a bunch of sideways 5.25 bays, so it seems entirely possible that you could replace the hot swap bays with higher quality ones if need-be.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for budget NAS

Pros: Plenty of room inside for routing cabling and maintaining good airflow. Fans are quiet. Plenty of cooling power. Very affordable 12 bay storage chassis. Case is sturdy.

Cons: Hard drive trays aren't very sturdy. Drive trays don't always lock properly so you have to reseat them again. A couple of trays were assembled wrong from the factory so I couldn't utilize all of the mounting holes. SATA ports aren't labeled so you have to figure out which bay is which.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it serves it purpose well. I built it to be NAS/SAN server for my home test lab. If you are on a budget and don't want to spend $500+ on a similar case, this will do it's job just fine. Most of the cons are annoyances so once it's up and running you won't have to deal with them anymore.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Budget Server Chassis

Pros: Nice build quality for the price. Solid case. Paint is even and looks really good. Hotswaps work nicely.

Cons: 80MM fans are junk. The front has a piece of foam installed to minimize dust intake and the back plastic piece that secures the foam is not open enough, I cut mine.

Other Thoughts: I got this to build an unRAID server in and I'm very happy with it thus far. The hotswaps are built simply so there isn't much that can break and they seem to work better than most hotswaps I've used. I'm unsure of how well the 120MM fans it comes with are going to do but they seem to move enough air quietly, time will tell if it can cool 12 drives and if they will last.
