1 out of 5 eggsA case of frustration

Pros: It comes in black. Fits a standard ATX power supply. Really trying to find good things here...the power and reset buttons work

Cons: I work as a network engineer and used to do computer repair professionally and this is the most frustrating case I have ever worked in (well...maybe a gateway is worse). It says it supports four HDDs and it does, but only after doing a mix of tetris and a jigsaw puzzle. The drives near the top of the MB sit too close to the cpu heatsink and the plugs BARELY fit. The sata cable for the top drive is doing a 90 degree turn sideways right out the gate.

One of the fans doesn't work, but not because of power. No, it is because the casing for the fan is too small and the fan blades are essentially getting stuck.

There is a small lip at the back of the case that sits over area where the screws for cards go in. It makes it very difficult to get any cards installed. If you try to put a card into a slot directly, the bracket hits the lip and prevents it from going in all the way. So you end up having to kind of jerry rig it in there.

For all intents and purposes, the top cover sits directly on the cpu fan and heatsink which just suffocates it and shoots up my cpu temperature 10 degrees C within a matter of minutes. The only way I can keep the cpu cool is by keeping the top cover off. I know another reviewer talked about cutting a hole in the cover to solve this, but c'mon...really?

Other Thoughts: I got this to house a small proxmox server at home and while it all functions fine, there's this thing in the back of my head about this awful case it's sitting in with no cover. It took me nearly three hours to get everything situated nicely in this case which is just absurd. I will return it once I get a replacement ordered.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Plenty of space
Neat clean appearance in the rack
Loses its heat well (always a concern in a rack)

Cons: None really, it could use a slightly more sturdy rack mount, but I don't plan on rolling my server cabinet down the street so it should be fine.
Would be better if it came with a power supply so you don't have to guess about what would fit in it.

Other Thoughts: Overall, its an excellent way to build your own rack-mount server.
Saves a ton of cash and you end up with a piece of equipment that is customized to your needs.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat inexpensive case, but

Pros: Cheap little case, fans are pretty quite

Cons: First, on all rosewill cases, the lid is held on by little screws. It would be nice to have a screwless solution for someone who likes to tinker and open and close the case a bit. Second, it would have been a little better if the PSU was mounted on the other side, since the power cable plugs is on the complete opposite side of the case as it is currently, the mobo power cable i have just barely fit. Third, one of my fans didn't work..

Other Thoughts: I kind of knew what I was getting with the lid and what side the PSU was mounted on, and it works for the price, so 4 eggs works for me for a rating.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Rack Case!

Pros: This server chassis is great. I setup a FreeNAS box in here, and it has been awesome so far.
*Room for 6 drives is a plus.
*Free RC-211 Sata Controller as of this writing--works with FreeNAS
*3 included Relatively Quiet fans, cant hear over other equipment

Cons: *Top vent for power supply looks silly if you have a rear-exhausting power supply.
*If you plan on stacking something on top of this-- you will NOT want a bottom intake power supply --- like 99% of consumer PSU's these days.
*A little small for a full sized mATX motherboard. I have a narrow mATX motherboard in here and it works great. ITX boards will also work great. but I can see problems with a full width mATX board and having more than 4 hard drives installed. Get low-profil DIMMs!

5 out of 5 eggs8-Core NVR Server

Pros: Needed a 2U case for an 8 core AMD FX based NVR server for 4 IP cameras. Worked well for what I needed, I had planned to cut a hole directly above the CPU fan and use a custom duct to bring in fresh air. I did this and temps are low, otherwise temps skyrocketed. This worked in my rack as this is the top server. Fan filter in the front of the case gets dusty quickly. I vacuum it off from the outside of the case on a monthly basis. I'm glad the filter stops so much dust.

Cons: None, perfect for my needs. Would buy another.

Other Thoughts: Using an SSD for the OS to keep case temps down and 4 TB drive for video camera feed storage. MATX motherboard and 450w full sized ATX power supply. I wouldn't want to put much more in this case. Vent in top of case for PSU works great (again this is the top server in my rack). Ended up removing extra hard drive bay parts to allow better air flow.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cheap Server Rack Mount Case

Pros: Small design so it doesn't take up much room. Everything does fit inside, although somewhat cramped. If you have a heat problem, have a beefy PSU to run all of the fans. Fits standard size PSU. PCI cards will be the smaller form factor to work w/ small form factor mounting plates. 2 Front USB. Comes with internal fans on HDD bays.

Cons: Wouldn't use anything other than a MATX board. Space is at a premium. Wouldn't advise more than 3 HDD unless you have low profile RAM. Even then, pushing it.

Other Thoughts: For cheap, it does exactly what I need it to. Nothing fancy about it but it is solid enough to last.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: Cheap 2U rack mounted chassis. It fits a regular sized ATX power supply. Needed to replace my 4U and make space so I replaced it with this 2U unit.

Cons: Cannot used a DVD drive with this case. Has some sharp edges. Needed to buy additional rails since the 4U chassis rails did not fit with this case and were about the same cost as the case.
