3 out of 5 eggsFantastic... for a while.

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: The case is is spacious, good cable management options.
The fans are nice and really good for stock case fans.
You can probably fit most any super long video card in it. I also love the bottom-mount PSU placement.

This case makes for an awesome and neat-looking build.

Cons: Alright... cons:
After about one year of ownership, the mesh metal panels(top and front) have begun showing rust. The case is just out of warranty so I cannot get it replaced. I think the powder coat on it was improperly set and simply took this amount of time to wear. This is my major con. The room this computer is in has fairly dry air. There are other computers and metal and electrical equipment in the same room and none of it shows any traces of rust. I am really at a loss.

Aside from this, any small cons I had are petty and preferential. Nothing major or of note.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could find replacement panels for the ones that have rusted. I actually got this for my fiancee in Christmas of 2013. He loves the case and we don't want to have to find a different one. It seems like Holiday purchases should lend some warranty extension through at least mid-January; they don't. I believe my issue to be an isolated event.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: This case was overall pretty good in most of its aspects with just a few snags along the way throughout my build.
1. The included fans are a FANTASTIC way to save money to cool your build since it comes with 5 of them, I see this as a huge plus in my experience as many people don't really know much about or don't have the budget for fans.
2. 3.5" drive bays are basically just clip-on brackets but surprisingly sturdy. Easy to pull-out, mount, and re-install.
3. The filtered intakes along the front AND EVEN along whole bottom were a very nice touch that Rosewill included with this case, heck, even the 5.25" bay covers have a foam-like pad to keep dust out.
4. PLENTY OF SPACE. Room for sooooo many activities! Whether they are upgrades or a hot off the press, no-compromise build, I'm sure this case could handle it.

Cons: *sigh* The positives are out there, and now come the negatives...
1. The 3.5" cage mounting bracket DOES NOT COME OUT. This makes it difficult to change or replace the front panel fans and also gets in the way of airflow even though the bracket does have room for some airflow, I would've liked to see that option available
2. I get that this is a blue edition case, but the blue tinted side-panel window was a little overkill. I get that this really isn't an inconvenience for most people, but I feel the need to point it out. The tint makes to difficult to see inside the case without lighting, and even then, all your components are BLUE.
Cable management was a tad....uncomfortable. There really isn't much space between the motherboard tray and the panel once it's closed and no where to really tie your cables to unless you went out of your way to do so (I'm talking about you zip-ties). Also, the side panel fan's cable looks absolutely terrible if you don't have a motherboard with bottom-mounted fan connectors. The board I used had three top-mounted connectors and a rear, and the LEAST terrible looking one was obviously the rear and even then the excess cable had to be zip-tied in order to prevent it from sitting and melting on the graphics card.
4. LIQUID COOLERS BE WARNED. This case ONLY supports a radiator WITHOUT IT'S FANS. Either I didn't research enough into this build or I'm just stupid for not paying attention. I paired an H100i with the case to test the compatibility and was discouraged when I had to route the fan cables out the back and up to the top of the case where the fans must be placed. Very disappointing.
5. The 5.25" bays have these rather...unappealing slot covers that must be twisted and pulled of like the plastic parts from that model car your building, except these parts are METAL. After removal they leave sharp point that need to be filed down unless you want the pain of a thousand daggers on your finger when you're installing an optical drive.

Other Thoughts: YES, THERE WERE MORE CONS THAN PROS and YES, I DID WRITE MORE ON THEM. But, don't let this review necessarily drive you straight away from this case. The cons were what problems that I thought would've been easily avoided, HOWEVER, LET IT BE KNOWN THAT THIS CASE IS ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AT THIS PRICE POINT. Easy component mounting and plenty of space for bigger builds, or our resident upgraders out there. The average user will have no problems out of this case which after that thought, my initial three stars rating a the time of this seemed too much like a personal vendetta, which is why I threw it a bone and gave it that extra star.

5 out of 5 eggsnice case for the money, pretty!

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: pretty and lots of fans. Price was right. Durable and roomy. Really a good choice on a budget.

Cons: hard to fit a 240 mm radiator based on your mother board. A 120mm water cooler will fit in lots of places. The 240mm water cooler is probably overkill any way. Go with an even bigger case if you want to run a 240 X 120mm radiator.

5 out of 5 eggsNice moderate-level gaming case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: 1. Excellent set of features for the price - lots of spots for fans, comes with several nice fans; top I/O panel has audio, several USBs and external SATA drive hot plug (not an eSATA, but an actual power/SATA combo so you can directly swap drives on the chasis).

2. Easy to take a apart for dust cleaning.

3. Plenty of space inside, and drive cages can be removed if you want to put in an extra long video card.

4. Very nice slide-rack mechanism makes taking HDD/SSDs in and out very easy!

Cons: None, really.

Other Thoughts: In order to hook up any standard 3.5" HDDs, you have to have the plug-ins facing the right side of the case (facing towards the back of the motherboard)! If you have them facing the other way, you cannot hook up the SATA cables and still get the side of the case on! It does not tell you this in the manual. Maybe I am dense, but it took me a long time to figure this out.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: This case has fans in all the right places to help with heating. Putting it together was very easy and more than enough space to upgrade to whatever you'd like in the future. My video card is large and this case fits it with room to spare. If you deal with the Texas heat and like the color blue then this will be a great buy!

Cons: Nothing really.

Other Thoughts: The blue lights are not as bright as what is pictured. The picture they have on newegg makes the case look cheap but in actuality it looks much better!

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: Very sleek looking, much bigger than I had originally thought, and easy installation.

Came with all the cables/screws I needed and no dents/scratches/cracks.

Easy access, love the media storage rack.

Cons: Screws and manual did not add up but it was not a problem because I didn't use all the screws.

Media storage rack sliders are a very flimsy plastic and easy to break/warp. This can be seen as a pro since I needed to crack one for my SSD to plug in more smoothly.

Front panel wires to motherboard was somewhat challenging getting them to stay in place. Tape was needed on the 1 pins so they wouldn't slide off.

Other Thoughts: Not much hassle, well worth the value. I would buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsYou could hide a body in that thing. (Do not attempt. That's illegal)

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: -Spacious
-Looks amazing
-5 freakin' fans
-5 FIVE FANS
-Motherboard screws, can I get a hell yes?
-Nice cable management

Cons: -Installing the motherboard (and when I mean installing I mean sliding in the mobo output so its at the mobo output slot) was kind of a pain for me, and I'm brushing this off because it may have been either a) The motherboard itself, which I'll complain about in the mobo review or b) Me, since my knowledge about specifically building computers is sorta Neophyte-ish. Not worth taking off a star seeing as I did fix this problem.

Other Thoughts: One thing: Check your VGA card dimensions. My EVGA almost touched the HDD tray. Luckily this won't be MUCH of a problem seeing as you can remove any HDD trays in case you have a long vga card *COUGH*AMD*COUGH*, I mean what?

5 out of 5 eggsI love this case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: I love blue so this case fit my blue build perfectly! Good amount of space for a mid tower. I can fit any graphics card to date, although some require some hard drive moving. Cable management was great for me considering this was my first build case. Can be modded to hold some cool stuff relatively easily. Included fans are great but its not really an overall quiet case.

Cons: The specs mention that the case can support a corsair h100. This is a huge deception. The h100 can technically mount over the motherboard, but the fans would have to be mounted on top of the case and they force the case to bend at the top without modding the case (check Youtube). Not to mention throw out the idea of push/pull. Great to find out only after I already ordered a h100 of course. Then I had to pay money to fix the product description's mistake and send it back. Gotta love Newegg.

Other Thoughts: However. I like the case though. Fits my needs and a great first build case. I just wish the product description would have saved me some frustration. Overall, I guess its worth the money.

2 out of 5 eggsGood ideas, flawed execution

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: Of all of the cases I've ever seen, it's certainly a blue one.

The ideas aren't bad. The 3.5 inch drive tray mounting, for example, is a nifty idea that lets you do toolless installation with no hassle, in theory. There's a lot of space for fans, and the airflow seems pretty good with all of them turning. You don't need many tools to get from start to finish on a build; a Phillips does fine.

The build quality overall isn't bad, and the case seems sturdy enough.

Cons: Unfortunately, the execution of those good ideas is lacking. The nifty 3.5 inch drive trays have a handle at the outer end, for example, to make them easy to pull out. Unfortunately, they are in exactly the wrong spot: the case is narrow enough that you have to use a right-angle cable for SATA drives, and the handle is right where a right-angle cable needs to plug in. I wound up cutting the handle off. There are several other almosts in the execution like that.

The power and disk lights are on the top of the case, which makes them hard to see if your system is under the desk. The same goes for the jacks up there.

My case also came with a few pieces missing, most notably the two front rubber feet (the two in back were there). The little studs that go int he drive screw holes were missing on 3 of the 6 3.5" drive trays.

And please, folks...if you're going to use lighted fans, *give us a way to turn the lights off!* My system lights up the whole room.

Other Thoughts: The case does its job...but if I had it to do over again, I'd pick something else.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: Rosewill BLACKHAWK Blue Edition Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, come with Five Fans, window side panel, top HDD dock

Pros: Tons of fans, and they're not horrible

Unbelievably good air flow and temps considering the size of the case

Blue LEDs match the blue highlights on the case

More space than one would think given the size of the case. I especially like the good inch of space behind the MB and the outer side. You have tons of space to thread your wires, even if you're horrible at it like I am.

Cons: None at all, it's a great mid-sized case.
