5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PC box

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: I really only needed a new Power supply, but exploration showed I could get it with a new case/power supply, for the same price of a quality power supply.
My greatest concern was the quality of the PS and the wattage. While my old PS had greater Wattage then what I chose, in the end it became apparent that the poor power signal (wave form) was the cause of too many failed boots and crashes.
Overall the quality of the Rosewill Box is excellent for a midrange case, exceeding some higher priced cases. Much to my delight the Power supply signal is very good. I qualify this as I am a Biomed/imaging engineer for 40 years (retired). I checked the signal with my high dollar Fluke digital oscilloscope. Also having (truly) split power signals is a plus.
For the case I found well construction with expansion in mind. The form factor has room for many upgrades into the future. While Red is my lest favorite color, I now like red very much for my case and would not change it. For me having the Power on, reboot and front-end connections on the top works great under my desk for easy access. Much to my delight the case fans are very quiet and I like the dust filtering foam rubber. I don't care much about looks for something that sits under my desk, but the look of the case is slick.
If I had to find something wrong, I would say the front-end sound jacks did not work with my old motherboard AC97' integrated sound, but is setup for newer sound systems. However this is not much of an issue as the plan is to replace the MB if I can ever figure out what I want in my new Motherboard system. Much to my surprise, a request for a AC97' dongle resulted in a $20 credit from Rosewill after they could not provide one. Wow, this is unheard of! I really did not expect or request it? Oh, did I say that Technical support was responsive and accurate. Maybe the greatest shortcoming of other companies. I always look for product with good support. I will pay more to get this!, but I didn't in this case (not pun intended).
In summery I got a great Price with a Case/Power supply and support to boot!
**Purchased May 2015**

Cons: If I had to find something wrong, I would say the front-end sound jacks did not work with my old motherboard AC97' integrated sound, but is setup for newer sound systems. Other Thoughts: Much to my surprise, a request for a AC97' dongle resulted in a $20 credit from Rosewill after they could not provide one. Wow, this is unheard of! I really did not expect or request it? Oh, did I say that Technical support was responsive and accurate.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's alright

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: It works now. Had to get an RMA on the original one I ordered but Newegg was quick to fix the situation.

Cons: The FIRST one I received was badly damaged with the power supply sticker void and the power supply had been installed so carelessly it damaged the case itself. Newegg did deliver and replace it promptly though. The new case arrived in much better conditions and so far I can't complain. It seems to be working and getting the job done.

Other Thoughts: I give it 3 eggs only because Newegg replaced it promptly but if it had been checked properly the first time there wouldn't have been an issue to begin with. I know it's a little on the low end of budgeting but I expected a little better of a Rosewill product.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's still standing

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: Budget friendly. Aesthetically pleasing. Does what it is supposed to as far as holding things in place. USB 3.0 front headers.

Cons: PSU burnt out after 6 months however I'm only running FX 6300 @ 3.75 with HD 7850 GPU. HD Audio cable too short. Mesh front bay covers have a tendency to fall out. Somewhat flimsy.

Other Thoughts: After more than years worth of use I cannot complain. After a few upgrades worth of opening the case the frame bent just enough to where the panels do not fit as snug as they should so it looks a bit , off. It did however allow JUST enough room to fit a large aftermarket cooler (Scythe Grand Kama Cross 2). I was unable to fit any optical drive in as the HD Audio cable is too short for the header on my mobo however I don't really need an optical drive. Overall I'm ok with it but I am quite certain there are very high quality options from other manufacturers for the price point if you do some searching. I would not buy another one.

4 out of 5 eggsMuch Needed Upgrade!

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: Roomy, Well built, super easy to work with, built in power supply, great build, good psu/case combo with good price!

Cons: So far, none.

Other Thoughts: So, the only issue I have is that when it was shipped, a few of the doors for cd drives, and one of the front mesh panels came falling out. Easy fix though as I just snapped the plastic front piece off and reapplied these mesh covers. Other than this issue, so far, super smooth for the deal.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat.. for the price

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: stays cool with the one fan, but I don't game or anything.

overall not bad.

Cons: front "grill", the black metal mesh on the face plate falls off if you push on it the slightest bit

the screw holes for the side panel are easy to strip out,

can't really complain for a case and a pcu for under $70

4 out of 5 eggsBest Case/PSU Combo Under $100

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: -Solid quality for price range.
-Looks good
-Roomy

Cons: -Front Panel Audio connector is a bit short.
-USBs don't plug all the way in, but still work.
-Top mounted PSU

Other Thoughts: I used this case to build a rig for a client in Texas. I trust the Rosewill brand, but have never tried their cases before. I was pleasantly surprised. It's a solid size PSU for a mid-range build, and the case itself was nice. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a high end case has, but even the cable management "wasn't horrible" in this case. If you don't mind having a non-modular PSU, and you are looking for a reliable and inexpensive case... this is it. And honestly, if you were to buy one of those cheapo $30 cases, and then a separate PSU, you would still be spending the same amount, and not getting as good of a quality case.

3 out of 5 eggsIts OK

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: Looks good. Has huge power supply.

Cons: Did not have a cpu duct. Not sure why since the case clearly has the port and screw holes to mount one. I tried to see if I could find one for sale. I do believe NO ONE ANYWHERE sells them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case, but....

This review is from: Rosewill R536-Red - Black, Hot-Dipped Galvanized Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Red Front Panel and 500W Power Supply

Pros: This case is great, especially for a budget build. small, but at the same big enough for an ATX board. The additional power supply makes it a no-brainer to buy. It looks great as well, with The Red front and the patterns on the sides.

Cons: The description of this item is wrong. There is no way you can fit a 120mm fan on the side panel. I believe that the side holds an 80mm. The front CAN hold a 120mm, but the screw holes are weird and too small for screws from my Rosewill RFA-120. Another minor problem is that the front panel HD audio cable is too short. I have an ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer in this case right now, and the cable has some tension put on it in order to reach the header.

Other Thoughts: I thought I would put this in here since it was probably just bad luck, but the power supply's "Warranty void if broken" sticker is clearly broken. The power supply works just fine, but I fear that my warranty is void.
