Is there a bay for CD/DVD drive? Hard to tell from pictures.

Accepted Answer

No such drive space exists in this chassis. I purchased an external USB CD/DVD drive for it, since I rarely use this functionality (but it can still be very handy sometimes).

Hello there,

I'm thinking about purchasing the Rosewill U3 case. I love the small design of it. My micro-atx motherboard only has, however, USB 1.1 and USB 2.0. Does that simply mean that I can't use the the USB ports along the front of the case, or would it be compatible?

I am not 100% sure now but as far as I remember the front USB 3 connectors have a cable that uses at the other end (towards  motherboard) a double-size female connector (10+9) that will fit only a double USB3-type male motherboard connector.

It will not be compatible with a motherboard USB1/2 5+4 pin connector and you will not be able to bring any USB2 to the front of the case unless you modify the cable/female connector

The case fits well my ASUS Z97M-PLUS LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel motherboard; it has USB3 for front connection.

Is the fan filter on the back a plastic or a metal mesh filter?

Question 4

Does anyone have suggestions for hard drive mounting spacers?  The drives mount flush against case panels leaving no room at all for cabling.  Most power supplies come with L-shaped power cables.  There really needs to be a few mm of clearance under the drives to get cables through.

I think a "standoff" would be the best solution for this case.

6-32 is the thread size for hard drives
