Pros: Nice looking on the outside.
Cons: This is the worst server pedestal case I've ever owned hands down and after years of purchases on Newegg, this is my first review. This case came and looks good, I ordered my Supermicro motherboard from Newegg a few weeks later, bootup the machine and couldn't hear anything around me, all because of how LOUD the case is. I unplugged every fan to learn that the noise is coming from the fan on the power supply unit. I contact Supermicro numerous times and was told by three representatives that they'll call me back, no one did. All this time they're all telling me to contact Newegg about my issue. I took some advice and contact Newegg, but was told that they can't do anything for me. I submitted and RMA on Supermicro's site on 5/22/15 and fallow up with a call today, but was told by PoWei Lee that and email will be sent to the support team to get the PSU specs and how to swap it out or change the fans. Vincent Yobeanto from the service team responded stating "We are unable to swap the power supply with different model. If you would like to do that please contact the place where you bought it. However if you think that the power supply is defective and would like us to repair it please let us know so I can issue the RMA# for it." I then asked him for the model number of the fan, as I would like to order one with lower RPM even if it voids my warranty. Vincent responded again saying "I am sorry but I am unable to answer that question." This is by far the worst support I've ever encountered and would never order Supermicro products again. I just find it very hard to believe that a PSU fan would be much louder than five system fan combined. I also can't believe that I spoke to several reps and not one know or have any information on the products their selling to customers. Something this simple and none of them can help their customers.
I was a Newegg Premier customer at the time of this purchase and was more than happy to cancel my premier account since being a premier customer doesn't get you better service from Newegg.
Other Thoughts: I'm very unhappy with my experience and would never purchase another Supermicro product again. I will also be careful of where I make my purchases since customer service makes all the difference whether it's the retailer or manufacturer.
