The Smilodon case from Raidmax makes assembling a system easier than ever before. It has a modular, tool-less design that makes the initial build and future upgrades easy. Both side panels latch into place for easy access. For the ultimate in convenience the right side panel has the motherboard tray completed with backplate attached. This lets you install the mobo and all your cards, then lock it into the case as a single unit.

Drive installation couldn’t be easier. The external bays all use Clicklock technology, just slide the drive into the bay and lock it into place. The hard drive rack is removable for easy installations and upgrades. All of the necessary drive rails come in a slide out box so you don’t lose them.

Once you have everything assembled you need to make sure it stays cool. Raidmax has loaded the case with plenty of fans. A 120mm fan is mounted on the front of the case to draw cool air in and blow it across the hard drives. Side and rear mounted 80mm fans keep the air moving over all critical components. There is also an 80mm fan with blue LEDs that mounts to a support brace that holds your expansion cards steady and blows cool outside air over them.

  • newegg Convenient Installation The Raidmax Smilodon features a fully removable motherboard tray for easy system upgrade without removing your PCIe/AGP/PCI cards. Plus the tool-free design ensures quick assembly of other devices, saving your precious time.
  • newegg Transparent Side Panel Window The Raidmax Smilodon’s fantastic transparent side panel window provides a direct view of the inner system. The 80mm fan’s blue LEDs add stylishness and eye-catching fun.

  • newegg Efficient Ventilation The Raidmax Smilodon features one 120mm front intake fan, three 80mm fans and side vents for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg Video Card Cooler and Stabilizer The side video card stabilizer with an 80mm fan cools your video card and prevents it from moving for enhanced system stability.
  • newegg Convenient Front I/O Panel The Raidmax Smilodon features a convenient front I/O panel for easy access to two USB 2.0 and two audio ports.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mid Tower Case with lots of goodies crammed in.

Pros: The motherboard mount folds out.
The tower opens from both sides for easy cleaning
The extra fans are always a plus
I usually spend more money on a Thermaltake Case when I buy but this one seriously out performs the more expensive brand.
The LED trim is sweet and the fans that came with the tower were not cheap knock offs. They were built well.
Your friends will be jelly once they see how easy you can display your hardware and how it lights up a room.

Cons: The case has a cross bar fan that is really really nice and it to is collapsible for easy cleaning, however if you have a liquid cooling system say a corsair brand or similar. You may find it difficult to install.

I installed mine but it's a tight fit. For all practical purposes you can simply remove the fan cross bar on the side panel, but I worked with mine a bit and got it to fit without issue. I guess I am just mechanical like that =+)

Other Thoughts: I want to buy this tower again. I want to buy the tower in the exact same model and color and everything, but I see they only produce silver and blue now.

Can they bring back the black edition by popular demand ??

Oh and I would suggest anyone looking for a tower ...never mind the completely affordable price of it. Buy it cause it's absolutely worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Case!

Pros: The removeable motherboard tray makes it so much easier to install! Also, the tooless design is great. Plus, the green look AMAZING! Stock fans are decently quiet. Both sides of the case open up, which also makes it easy to work with.

Cons: No cable management (see other thoughts) Some graphics card might not fit. Anything less than 11" will fit.

Other Thoughts: So this case doesn't have any cable management features, so what I did is used zip/twist ties and shorten the cables as much as I possibly could, and shoved them to the very top.Overall this a very great case that looks great. I seriously recommend it to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsworst case

Pros: none?

Cons: 1) can't close the front door when usb is plugged, the fan come dirty faster

2)light are poor quality

3)i could add a extra fan, but isnt write the dimension required (i have read all the book and box)

4)one side door is for the motherboard and hardware and the other door with the glass is blocked by a wire for the A/C of the fan in the glass door.

5)It write i could add 2 HDD 3.5 but i can only add one!

6) not enought USB port

7)fan make a lot of noise

8)is not easy to work into the hardware when everything is in place... Close it and dont open it again for nothing

9) cable are not hidden

3 out of 5 eggsCable Management

Pros: The case looks really cool and it does function. I get plenty of compliments on its looks and so far it has been durable.

Cons: No cable management whatsoever. No isn't 3.0 in front. Extremely loud led fan on side. Mess on the inside which looks horrible with the clear side. I had to take the swing bar off and move the fan to another spot. The bar wouldn't fit with my gpu. All of the wires are really short so you can't move them so make it look a little nicer. I wouldn't buy this case again but it does look cool.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: Great case for the price. Plenty of room and options for future upgrades. Lights and fans work great, and the fans it comes with are not very loud at all.
I would definitely buy it again.

Cons: Its a large case, but its not like I wasn't especting that. Plastic parts seem kinda cheap, but the overall design makes up for that. Still a good buy.

Other Thoughts: Shipping was packaged well and arrived in 3 days just like it said.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case so far

Pros: This case is very ergonomic with both sides opening up to ease the installation of components. LEDs are nice and bright. Very good overall build quality, sturdy metal construction. Fans run good so far, not overly loud. Provide adequate airflow. This case is STILL the best from the factory Green LED lit case available.

Cons: Only downsides I've come across, is the lack of stand-offs for full sized ATX mobos. My case only came with 8, so I had to procure another (which isn't worth knocking off an egg).

Obviously the wiring isn't the greatest, but come on... This is a 10 year old case. Take your time and it'll turn out fine.

Magnets holding front door closed could be a little stronger. But definitely not a deal breaker or even worth an egg.

5 out of 5 eggs4 years in still kicking

Pros: I've had this case for almost 5 years now with almost NO issues. i swapped out the PSU initially so i cant speak on the one it came with, but I will say despite daily use with almost no down time the LED fans that came installed in it have held up. Swapping the front fan for a better one was very simple. The tool-less drive bays are easy to use. The fact both case sides open meaning the motherboard tray drops down makes installing new or swapping out old parts very easy.

Cons: Cable management is very minimal and tedious, mainly because the PSU is top mounted. But this was something i expected knowing that it was a top mount case.
The latch handles that open and lock the case can be finicky, not opening unless you play around with them.. granted this issue didnt surface till about 1.5 years into the case life.

Other Thoughts: All in all this has been one of my favorite cases to work with, its on its 3rd build (athlon, phenom,FX) and i still dont foresee retiring it for air cooled builds.. The cons were things i knew/expected to deal with upon purchase so i didnt see a point in deducting an egg.

3 out of 5 eggsNice case, faulty fans

Pros: I got this case along with a bunch of other parts at christmas time to upgrade my computer, and I am generally happy with it - it is much larger than the one I had before, and the side folding down made it very simple to install everything. It looks nice, has good air flow (enough that it doesn't need all the fans running, luckily), and I'm generally quite happy with it, except...

Cons: Not one but TWO of the fans that came with the case have broken down. The first was the rear outflow fan about a couple months ago, and the second is one of the intake fans on the side (the one with the green lights). In both cases the fans slowed down and made this horrible grinding noise, and appeared to be leaking some sort of goop which I assume was meant to lubricate them. The first time I passed it off as plain old bad luck and just replaced it, but now that the second one stopped working I'm not quite sure what to think.

Other Thoughts: I don't consider it a 'con', because it's easy enough to just look up online, but the instructions that came with the case were not particularly useful - this is the first case I've owned with tool free hard drive mounting and I had a bit of trouble figuring out what the instructions meant for me to do.

1 out of 5 eggsNope

Pros: It's pretty

Cons: Very difficult to work with. Drives have to be installed before mobo if you have a 3rd party heatsink.

Also, that heatsink can't be very tall.

Drives CRAM into slots, scratch and push that thing into there.

Other Thoughts: I should have just spent more time and more money.
