Raidmax makes a monster to eat all your computer components! The Raidmax Monster ATX-016B offers maximum room for your drives without resorting to a full sized tower. A staggering four 5.25" external drives are available up front by removing the rarely used 3.5" external bays. Dual HDD cages deliver 8 internal 3.5" hard drive bays for supreme expandability. Naturally, it includes 2 USB ports, an eSATA port, and two audio ports up front, but located on top of the case for even easier access.

You'll have no trouble setting up your perfect system here, either. The Drive Cage is easily removable, giving easy access to install the hard drives. Likewise, you'll have no worry about accidental cuts or scrapes as all edges have been folded over to prevent that dangerous razor sharpness.

The tray supports all standard ATX Motherboards up to 12" x 9.6", with 7 PCI expansion slots in the back. The system comes with four 120mm fans to be used in the front, back and top of the system, to improve the airflow of the case. Keep all cool with Raidmax Monster!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case

Pros: Everything went in smooth, there is a lot of room in the case. The thumb screws do what they need to do. For the cables they could have done a better job, but it worked out fine. There isnt a side panel to look thru so how much cable management do u need? The cables for the front I/O panel are Long I was able to hide them and reach the bottom left of the Mobo. The spot where the PSU goes has rubber, also the HD slots and CD/DVD bays have rubber.

Cons: Ok so yea the feet on the bottom do loosen up easy. (one word loctite) And the 2 side panels where a little bowed when I first got the case. A second later they where fixed I just bent them back. The 4 case fans dont move the best amount of air, so I picked up 4 fans that move 110 cfm. Much better.

Other Thoughts: For the old price of $200 I would say go get a different case.
But for $130 this case delivers. Its strong, has a bunch of room, and looks great. The fan filters are a plus.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Case

Pros: Nice, smooth finish, lightweight, fairly sturdy, and comfortably roomy inside. No cheap plastic clips, only thumbscrews. Easy to open up with spring loaded sliding locks at the top. Cleanable filters on the front fans that pop out. Raidm@x used all quality parts with the possible exception of the fans. I havent used them yet, but I suspect they'll be sufficient for most users. Oh, and the case looks good too.

Cons: As other reviewers have said, the side panels may be a little bowed in the box. But its soft aluminum and it literally took me 5 seconds to bend it back into shape. Also, one of the feet came loose in shipping, and it was kind of a pain to get it back in. Not enough of a deal to knock an egg off though.

Other Thoughts: If the feet come loose in yours, take the screw out of the foot (use pliers if you need to), press the little nut on the inside of the hole, and twist the screw in through the outside. Then screw on the feet. It makes things A LOT easier as their isnt room in the front to twist the nut on with your hands.

I havent put any hardware into the thing yet as I'm still waiting on a few parts to drop (most notably a hydra 200 motherboard), but I saw the new price and I went for it. This is a good deal for an all-aluminum case of this quality. I'll update this review if I run into any problems later with the build.

2 out of 5 eggsThis thing is huge!!

Pros: It's pretty...
And if I were to keep it, It would probably work nicely with all of the "specs" it had that I liked so much when reading about it.

Cons: It's pretty BIG!!
The dimensions online say it's much smaller than what it actually is. I measured it, it's 20" high by 20.5" long by 9" wide. NOT INCLUDING THE FLANGES.... (add 2-3")
And it weighs more than most other aluminum cases I've built with in the past because of this extra size I believe.

Other Thoughts: man I hope they don't charge me shipping to return this thing.

4 out of 5 eggspremium case built to a budget.

Pros: Nice solid aluminum case that is mostly welded, looks cool, and is fairly rigid due to the use of aluminum extrusions in addition to aluminum sheeting that is thicker than most.

The first aluminum case I have run into that I would say is as quiet as an equivalent steel case.

Virbation dampening rubber for drive cages, 5.25 bays, psu "shelf", and the feet.

Angled corners give you some nice options for mounting cable management clamps/ties/etc internally.

Nice front filter setup.

Cons: Fragile anodizing is not real hard, and aluminum is not a particularly hard alloy so install and assemble on a clean surface and watch your screws.

Fragile case panels may be bowed from factory, easily bent back or rebent, but no idea how many cycles of that the tack welds will take.

Surprisingly anemic fans. You can get significantly more airflow at lower db with other fans. If you want quiet, or plan ot OC, conside the case as needing 4 fans.

Comes with snapout non-reusable slot covers. double chek your card placement before snapping them out or you need to scournge/buy some.

Vibration dampening rubber PSU thing is too thick ot use with included screws.

Easily loosened feet that can leave nuts loose in your case need to be locktited (Raidmax SHOULD have done this)

Soft, bendable mobo tray brace.

No top filter if you want to have 3 in and 1 out on the fans. Fixing that is a pain. If you don't, you'll likely wind up sucking in dust through the extrusions.

Other Thoughts: Before you shove anything in this case, locktite the feet into their mounting nuts or you will be sorry.

Be carefult of the finish during assembly. I built mine on a packing blanket and kept VERY close tabs on all screws after scratching it unpacking it.

In reference to the other reviews, I think they are misleading to some extent.

The molex connectors for the stock fans are no more fiddly than what you get with any other case, or if you buy fans individually.

The case is most definitely square. However, the mobo tray can be easily bent a bit at the far edge. It also can be easily bent back without danger of damage.

I added some foam panels, cable management, a top filter (and reversed the fan), and some vented slot covers, and have a nice positive pressure case with good airflow.

2 out of 5 eggsThis is a first

Pros: Very nice looking case. Fairly light. Good cooling. Good access and nice harddrive frames.

Cons: Case
Isn't
Square
The plate that you attach the motherboard to and the back of the case are not 90 degrees to each other. The back of the case bows out away from where it should be. The screwhole for the videocard was a good half-inch out from where it should have been.
Less of a problem, the side panels bow out from the case leaving gaps of about a quarter inch. I can't see that as a real problem, I doubt it hurts airflow.
There is no sign of impact durring shipping, so it must have come from the factory like this.

Other Thoughts: I've had cases where everything went together like a dream. I've had cases where the screw holes were tapped for the wrong threading screws. I've never had to use vice-grips to bend one into shape before. One just expects more from a $200 case.

3 out of 5 eggsGood and Bad

Pros: This is generally a good case. There is tons of room inside for anything you want to put in there. 4 huge cooling fans! I could have probably done without the led bling lighting. Plenty of room to tuck unneeded power supply cables.

Cons: The power connectors for the case fans are very poor quality in my opinion. They don't line up very well and are kind of loose. I had a hard time plugging them in to my power supply connectors. The pins actually pushed out when you tried to push them together. Aargh! The top case fan did not work, so I unscrewed it took the sticker off and found out that one of the wires was busted. It looked like faulty soldering to me. I re-soldered the connection, the fan and leds now work. I hope that this isn't any indication of the quality of the fans themselves.

Other Thoughts: The overall quality of this case it good, however I had to spend too much extra time screwing around with the fan hook ups of all things.
