1 out of 5 eggsPSU defective

Pros: The case has a nice design and offers multiple placements for fans and hard drives.

Cons: The PSU was defective and throwing a lot of heat
The plastic on the side of case arrived cracked
The power supply would overheat quickly; cable got extremely hot

Other Thoughts: I had ordered a Raid max case with 500w PSU, purchased from newegg.com. The parts came, and initially no issues, but after about 2 or 3 days, the computer shut off with no prompt. I checked the computer and noticed no issues, all cables were out of the way, and everything was installed properly. I checked it again and it ran fine, until about another day later, when the same thing happened. Once again, I checked the same thing, but also checked the cable, and discovered the entire cable was extremely hot. I unplugged it and let it cool, and tested it with another cable, which I knew ran fine as it was connected to another computer. That cable didn't run hot, because it was designed for a 735w PSU, however, it did shut off again, and an odor was noticeable of burning. I disconnected it and checked the site specs, and noticed several others with similar issues, which is actually how I got this email address. I've purchased Raidmax products before, and I've never had any issues before, so I was very surprised that it was giving me issues, especially a new PSU I've had for less than a month.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsBought as a package

Pros: Well built, easy access to add drives, somewhat quiet

Cons: Shame when bought as a package, the specs didn't match the motherboard. Can't use front USB 3.0

2 out of 5 eggsDead PSU, Back Panel stuck on

Pros: -fan is quiet
-They sent me a new PSU right away
-Thin

Cons: -Dead PSU
-Back Panel tabs were bent so it had to be pried off to get the cables managed
-The Standoffs Stripped as soon as they were put in which made it a hassle to get the motherboard out(upgraded to a new case)
-Front didn't come off so you really can't get a 120mm fan at the front
-cheap build

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, and maybe a little less, but customer service was easy to deal with and very helpful.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price!

Pros: I like how the top of the case is.. i always put my headphones on the top of my pc.. they fit nicely in beveled area at the top of the case. I like how the top has a place for one big fan, or 2 small fans and is good for air circulation even w/out a fan at the top.

Cons: I am not a huge fan of where the headphone/mic jacks and usb slots are on the front TOP... it just seems awkward to me.. not sure exactly why they made it this way.. some may like it, some may not.
Aslo, the side of the case that is see through feel very cheap. Its a very flimsy plastic and Im guessing could be broken very easily.... leaving a hole in the side of your case. the vent on the side allows u to put a fan there, that does not come with the case.. im also willing to guess if u try to tighten it too tight, it would crack the plastic material.
The biggest con for me with this case, which I knew going into getting it.. was the lack of fans.. it only comes with 1 fan in the back of the case.. would have been nice to come with a fan for the side, or 1 for 1 of the 3 areas for fans at the top.. again.. 2 smaller fans, or 1 bigger.. 120 mm maybe in the CENTER of the top

1 other gripe.. u know the standoffs for the motherboard? well.. for some ODD reason... the placement was off in ONE AREA of my MB.. leaving NO STANDOFF for the TOP LEFT of my motherboard... there is no standoff, or place to put it in that area.. most cases u can unscrew and place them where you need them.. which u can with this case, dont get me wrong... but the way my MB is.. WHICH CAME WITH THE BUNDLE WITH THIS CASE... did not have a standoff, or place to put it in the top left..

Other Thoughts: The case is serving its purpose.. i dont think i would have purchased it tho tbh if it did not come with a bundle I bought. But, more than likely, your in the same boat.. your looking at this review because its coming with a bundle that you bought.. Other than the cheap plastic feel to the see through panel, the placement of the front/TOP usb n headphone jack this case should serve u well... i just ordered a gtx 960 that is 10 inches long.. i hope that it will fit.. my gpu right now is a gtx 560 and i think its 8 1/2 inches long.. looks like i have a few inches to spare.. so it should fit

2 out of 5 eggsOk Case. Not enough

Pros: -Good replacement for factory PC cases
-Enough fan areas
-Worked great for a replacement case for Emachines EL1358G

Cons: -Clear panel is dark and can't see through very well.
-Side fan setup is tacky if you don't have a fan in it
-Had to modify case for Corsair H100iGTX even though it is setup for liquid cooling according to box.
-Wire management is hard with this case

Other Thoughts: -Ordered a different case and will likely throw this one away because I cut a hole in the top.
-Setup for custom liquid cooling not very roomy at all
-Does do what it is supposed to do
-Got a different power supply because reviews for included power supply are not very good

-I would buy the case again just for a replacement case for a customer's older computer and they are wanting just a plain case.

4 out of 5 eggsNice budget build

Pros: Easy access.

Quick changing drives.

Good price.

Fancy looking with a clear side panel.

Cons: There are no rubber sleeves to feed the cables through behind the internal frame. Its a minor issue but there are 3 rubber sleeved holes out of the back that are less useful.

Other Thoughts: This is perfect for building a PC <500$.
If you need to buy a case for 100$ or less, this is a great choice.

3 out of 5 eggsDOES NOT FIT MSI GTX 970

Pros: Looks awesome. Has great cable management

Cons: does not fit large video cards. If you are looking for a gaming PC that can handle the current video card sizes look elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk(PS dead)

Pros: It has a nice design(a bit cramped but the some pro), Probably nothing out of the ordinary but feels a bit rugged*. I like the PS on the bottom but that's becoming standard it seems.

Excluding the 3 main cons(dead PS, shipping damage, and certain spots are cramped(not a biggy)), it's not a bad case.

Cons: 1. Power supply dead. Caused a lot of grief because one wouldn't normally think a new PS was dead. Since I don't stock up on PS's I couldn't test it out easily.

2. There was shipping damage. Looks like the unit was dropped. The thumb screws at the bottom were bent about 30 degree's off pitch. Fortunately it was mostly cosmetic. I could get the sides off without too much hassle. The PS may have been damaged from the drop, but no direct damage to the PS case was visible.

3. Made from somewhat thin aluminum. I could bend it with my hands with a bit of elbow grease.

4. In some locations it was a bit tight. Mainly with the ASUS z170 the sata connectors are hard to get to.

Other Thoughts: It's possible that the shipping damage caused the issue with the PS. If this is the case then:

1. They should ship it better. Throwing a box around something isn't protection.

2. You get what you pay for(sometimes less).

My feeling is the PS was junk. This is why it gets a 1 star. If the PS was working I'd give it 3 stars. I'd buy the case again without the PS if I wanted to contribute to this company but I'll take my chances with someone else(until I run out, then I guess I'll just have to start my own computer case manufacturing company ;).

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First, we like to thank you for your review, the reviews are valuable information for us.
We have heard your review and have forwarded your comments to our factory/manufacture overseas.
We know the PS always slam and throw things around.
That is why we use special foaming protection to protect the case, however sometimes that is not enough.
Regarding the PSU issue, we can definitely have it replaced for you.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com and we'll have someone at your team get back to you in a timely manner.
Again, we thank you for choosing Raidmax products.
