5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pros: Very solid case. Psu is a true 500 watt. Great Look. USB 3.0 . No DOA PSU. PSU is surprisingly reliable. Moderate water cooling capabilities . Good tooless design. Still need screws on other side though. And once again good shipping and absolute build quality. And Awsome looking

Cons: Cons: Not completely tooless. Psu is quite loud. (But won't affect you if you have headphones)

Other Thoughts: Comments: I had no high expectations. You get what's advertised and it's darn good for me since I'm on a budget.

My Build: This case, Msi z97 Pc Mate, Intel Pentium G3258(3.2ghz)(Oc'ed to 4.0ghz), GEiL Evo 8gb Ram(white), Evga Gtx 750 Ti Sc.

5 out of 5 eggscase is good for the price

Pros: i like the case.. psu is pretty good so far since 2012... bought two of em' and took out one solid side for the other side vent replacement so that more heat is going out... too bad the top doesn't have vent holes... it was expensive to make one case out of two...

Cons: no cons

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the money

Pros: Case comes with a 500W PS. Great ventilation (back, side, front, and top). It's generally solid with few/no metal protrusions/snags. One fan (but can accept one or two more). The power supply mount is in the bottom of the case, making it easier to attach the mobo. It arrived unblemished, shipped only in its own box (no additional packing).

Cons: The case comes with brass-colored posts that screw into the side of the case - these are for setting the mobo on. It also comes with three distinct types of screws - and only one of these types actually fit the brass posts !! Be aware of this during assembly so that you choose the right screw.

It also comes with audio and usb ports on the top of the case. I imagine these will collect dust due to their placement. Also, the top of the case is open to ventilation - this could cause more dust to enter the case . . . but I'm not sure since I've not had one like this before. These are mostly known items, which is why I'm not downgrading it.

Other Thoughts: There's a lot that I like about this case. For this kind of build (a server/general purpose computing platform with on-board video), I'd likely buy it again. I think the PS is a bit underpowered if you're looking for a high-end gaming box with really fast video.

Build includes: ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 HDMI USB 3.0 uATX AMD Motherboard, AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Desktop Processor FD6300WMHKBOX, CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

Although not germane to this review, I'm building this as a Linux box for testing LAMP, Openstack, and general purpose desktop computing. I expect the case to provide sufficient cooling for these purposes.

2 out of 5 eggsThe old one did it better

Pros: -Come with PSU
-Cheap
-Side window

Cons: -Terrible cable management
-LOUD PSU
-Only 1 fan was included and it hardly pushes air
-

Other Thoughts: I had the original Altas back in 2011 and I dont remember it being this bad. I had the PSU in the old one for over a year before I sold it to a friend and it was never this noisy (he still has the original PSU and it still whisper quite) and he is running it with a Phenom X4 955 with a HD 6770. I am only running a X3 720 with no GPU and its still loud!. Also the PSU dust filter is not as good as the original Altas. I feel with the overall build quality that the regular atlas was better and this is a step back.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case for the money

Pros: Included power supply.
Rolled edges on the interior.
Room behind the motherboard tray for cable management.
Clever drive locking mechanisms.
Affordable, and it looks good.

Cons: As others have noted, noisy PSU.
The included instructions aren't very helpful.
Not enough standoff points to support the back corners of an ATX board.

Other Thoughts: My son and I put together a modest build with some new and used parts, and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this case. Usually for the money you get really sharp, unfinished edges on the interior and no room for running cables behind the motherboard tray, and you have to screw in the drives, but not so with this case. The drive locking mechanisms are especially clever and work really well but you'll have to figure them out on your own, the instructions aren't very helpful.
My only real criticism is the lack of standoffs for the back corners of an ATX board, with no holes in the case to mount any. On the board we used these were close to the RAM slots where support is important, so extra care was necessary when installing the memory (I just jam my fingertips under the edge of the motherboard). This issue and the noisy PSU knocked off one star but I still recommend this case and would buy one again.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the money

Pros: Bought to build something good enough for my wife to game with me. Great case, no issues with assemble. Wide back panel for cable hiding/clean builds.

Cons: Loud PSU, I can hear it above 4 desktops, a tower server, a couple of 1U appliances, and sometimes the TV. It will be replaced ASAP.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy power supply

Pros: Nice case. No issues there

Cons: NOISY NOISY NOISY little power supply! I had to return it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I bought separate case and power supply and with rebates it amounted to the same deal.

4 out of 5 eggsI was wrong.

Pros: Inexpensive case plus psu. Less expensive than getting a similar case and psu separately. USB 3.0...

Cons: 3, not 4, SATA power connectors.

Other Thoughts: My first review was angry at this not having the claimed 8pin(4+4) cpu power cable. After I gave up looking, I found the included adapter in the floor. Must have fallen, unnoticed, when I first opened the package. It does jsut have 3, not 4, sata power connectors, but I don't care about that. I am very happy to have found the adapter. Wish I could delete my previous review.

1 out of 5 eggsWrong Power connectors!!!

Pros: Looks like a nice case. With an adapter, the power supply should be fine. Better price than buying a comporable case and power supply separately.

Cons: The Specifications clearly state:
500W power supply included
- 24 pin(20+4) pin main power connector
- 8 pin(4+4) ATX12V CPU connector
- 4 x SATA connectors
- 3 x 4 pin Molex connectors
- 1 x Floppy
- 1 x 6 pin PCI-E connector

It does not have an 8 pin cpu power connector, it has a single 4pin connector. I also has only 3 sata power connectors, which really isn't an issue for me. The lack of an 8pin connector is a serious issue as now I have to get an adapter, which will make it a few more days before I can get the comp running. Resulting in an unhappy customer. I can hardly blame newegg for this, as they didn't manufacture it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Thank you for double checking!
We see you updated your review and we appreciate it.
Again, we appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.
