4 out of 5 eggsGood starting point.

Pros: Case does not feel cheap. Made of steel. Looks pretty good. Has lots of options for add-ons.

Cons: Did not originally fit my gtx 770. It was so tight. I took a wrench to the SSD bay and made room though. Stock fan seems really slow, replace. Remove PSU as well.

Other Thoughts: Honestly, I got this case for an x-mas gift and I didn't even know it came with a PSU when I asked for it. I threw that old thing out with out even trying it, I mean of course it wouldn't be quality when the case is basically the same price as the version without a PSU.

Other than that, and the small hiccup of space for my gpu that I fixed, I really love this case. Great overall design. Could have came with more of those blue plastic drive bay lock mechanisms, and could use more room on the back side of the mother board for cable management. It looked like they thought about it, but the gap was too thin to fit any cables there.

I just like it because I got all of my stuff to fit in a case that is not ludicrously over-sized.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for a budget gaming pc!

Pros: The case looks like a transformer (most people find that appealing for some reason). easy to use and well built can fit fairly long gfx cards. the 500w PSU was more than enough for a years worth of gaming on an i3-2130 and radeon 7770 1gb gddr5 but sadly died when I did a factory reset :( I'm sure if I hadn't of reset it would have ran fine.

Cons: small cables on PSU. no where to mount a liquid cooling system (though I'm sure with a little molding you could.) PSU isn't 80+ certified so be careful don't put a 290x in here.

4 out of 5 eggsCool looking case

Pros: Case looks really cool w/ Darth Vader look. Quality case with lots of room for expansion. Excellent cooling after adding a 120mm fan. No sharp edges and room to work. Drive locking cams are nice, but not enough of them. Window on the side looks cool if you move back fan (supplied) to front and put in blue light up fan in rear.

Cons: Power supply is a 500 watt as listed, but "8 pin (4+4) ATX12V CPU connector" as listed is wrong! Connector is only a 4-pin (beware). Power supply fan is extremely loud.
The case is quality, but power supply is cheap!

Other Thoughts: If you purchase this case, plan on replacing the power supply with a good one and adding a 120mm fan to the front. Then you should be pleased with it.

4 out of 5 eggscase okay...but psu!

Pros: big case, good design, still trying to figure out how to take my faceplate off and install a front fan though...

Cons: horrible power supply!!!!!!!! seriously! it sparked and started my couch on fire! thankfully i was around to smack it out!!! smelt so horrible in that psu after that that I had to throw it away.

cables were not long enough either.

Other Thoughts: four stars since i like the case...but horrible psu NEVER AGAIN will i trust a psu bought with a case from Raidmax.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Description

Pros: Nice looking case, enough room to do what you need without being bulky.

Cons: The power supply with this case is supposed to have 4 SATA connectors, mine has 3. This power supply is also supposed to have an 8 pin CPU plug, but mine only has 4. There is also no color code on the case wiring for the mobo. It is a guessing game what is + and -.

3 out of 5 eggsSmall Case

Pros: It's fairly economically priced.

Comes with plastic connector that makes 2 big / 2 small bays screw-less to install.

Cons: Case is tiny compared to my CM Stacker.
Included power supply only has cabling for each type.

Other Thoughts: Budget case that looks _ok_.

You'd probably want to get a different power supply if you need to install more than like 3 SATAs.

2 out of 5 eggsUmmmm

Pros: Clean case, light weight but still has good body to it, i.e. doesn't feel cheap. Like the front 5.25" drive bay enclosures with removable clips. Came with a power supply, but this is a deterrence - see below for more on that...

Cons: Just because the manufacturer includes a power supply, doesn't mean the power supply is like other Raidmax's. I have bought many Raidmax power supplies and had minimal expectations since it came with one free. But this power supply is cheap, really cheap. The power cord for the sata drives doesn't even reach to the top two or three bays. Who does that? The fan is really loud, annoying, very annoying. I would have bought a case and power supply separately but Newegg only had one case that I liked in local stock. One out of 25. So I bought this combo. Needless to say, I will be buying another power supply.

4 out of 5 eggswhats not to like?

Pros: overall great case at a great price! setup, layout, and design are all great! As for other reviewers comments regarding the length of psu wiring-- I have had no issues, it is just right for my needs; although i can see how it may be problematic if you are running multiple optical drives and multiple hard drives... otherwise, unless you are trying to power components outside of the case, they should be just right! Overall well constructed, with 1 120mm fan plus power supply and side window for under $60... and from a trusted company... if you ask me thats an awesome deal!
This is, however, a unit intended for everyday general, business, multi-media use computing (which is exactly what i was looking for) If you are a serious gamer or for other reason are running a extreme use system (ie, four hard drives, 2 optical drives, plus other misc components) you should first of all ask yourself why... and second, you should spend the money on higher end separate case and psu that will take care of your specific needs! For everyday average users this is a well made product that will easily handle your sytem requirements at a great price.

Cons: I only have one relatively minor problem with this product. There is a cutout for a front 120 mm fan, but no apparent way to easily remove the front panel (without breaking it) for installation!

1 out of 5 eggsLoud fan ... by design!

Pros: It works. It has an interesting if somewhat weird appearance.

Cons: One issue is the front side usb connector does not fit my motherboard. There may be an adapter for that, frankly I've not looked yet.

My big gripe is with the power supply fan. It is loud. Not in a ball-bearings-are-falling-apart way, but in a fan-at-full-speed way. It is white noise, but is irritating after a few minutes, hours, days, and weeks.

Upon querying the manufacturer, because of course I waited until just after the 30 days had passed for returning it (I figured it was a bad case fan and cheap to replace later when I had time), I was informed that the fan is set at maximum speed and cannot be turned down (nor does it adjust with load).

To quote:

fan speed has been set on Max. speed, unable to adjust. all of our RX-500S
power fan are same.

Wow. Why a manufacturer would even consider selling a power supply whose fan is continually on the maximum speed in an age of nearly silent comptuers is quite baffling.

I'd advise against purcasing this case, no matter the coupon savings. You will need to replace the power supply eventually, and may even be tempted to get rid of the dorky case at the same time!

Other Thoughts: I bought it because it was a good price for a case + ps combo. With a bazillion of these things created, decades to work out the design and expectgations, what could go wrong?

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We're sorry that you are not satisfied with your purchase of this case.
For all cases that comes with PSU, the factory overseas will set the fan to it's max speed because in the past we have customers saying the cooling fan is not strong enough.
Unfotunately after we solved that problem, it did not benefit you.
Again, if you have any other questions, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.
