How do I connect this to a monitor? Where is a spot for a hdmi cord?

1. you need to buy a mainboard which has HDMI port.
2. most of the time, when you buy a monitor which has HDMI port, they will included a HDMI cable for you. 
3. Most of the time, HDMI port locate next to VGA or DVI port on your mainboard. ( If you buy a graphic card, its the same) 
4. connect HDMI from you monitor to HDMI on the mainboard or graphic card.

p/s the case doesnt include HDMI port, you have to buy mainboard which has one or graphic card which has one.

Is it a shell or a computer that you can add things to?

It is just the outer case. It does come with one fan in the top of the back already in place.

If you're just going for cheap and cool looking then this is a good case, but if you want a really nice one for a good custom built computer then I would probably search a little bit more for a better case.

Will this fit an ATX 30.5 cm X 22.5 cm motherboard with room for standard power supply?

Yes, I put a atx mother board in this case (Asus M5A97 R 2.0). This has the same dimensions as you stated. I also put a standard size power supply in. Power supply was 6.5" x 3.5" x 6". These dimensions are in inches but it is a standard ATX power supply. Any other questions feel free to ask.

How much RAM does it run?

Hey there ... this is not a full computer system. All this is ... is a computer case. There is no ram inside .. and no computer parts. You'd need a motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drive, and power supply PLUS this in order to have a system.

On a scale 1-10 what would you rate this for gaming? keeping in mind i dont care about graphics as much as most people.

This is just the case. There is no hardware inside. It's basically the plastic outside of the computer so it literally has no graphics. 
But the case itself I would say is 6 maybe. It's small, doesn't have a ton of room for cables, and only comes with one fan in the rear even though it says it has two. The only reason anyone should buy it is because it looks really cool.

Does this case have a built in front fan as well?

Yes. The case comes with two fans: one in the front and one in the back. Those fans can be replaced or moved to the other fastening locations. There are two unused fan slots on the top and two on the left side.

What size motherboard, graphics card, fan, should I look for to fit in this case?

I could fit my full atx baord in here but my graphics card I couldn't. At the time I had a 7950 which I think is around 11 inches there's a beam coming down that stopped it. It was like an inch short. I'd probably stick to 9 inches or less for gpu

Wow, that is kind of a general question, but I will try and help.  With the motherboard I have, a board that is as long as 10 inches and as tall as 6 1/4 inches would fit.  Maybe a bit more.

I have an AMD micro ATX motherboard in mine, and a PowerColor graphics card that measures 7 1/2 X 4 and it has tons of room around it.

I bought the case as a low cost option for components I had available after an upgrade.  I found the case to be an excellent value for the price.
