4 out of 5 eggsLong term review

Pros: 1.) 9 5.25" bays
2.) Handle on the top of the case
3.) Integrated feet that raise the case up
4.) Plenty of room for hiding cables
5.) Easy tool-less 5.25" bay installation
6.) Low cost for a lot of case

Cons: 1.) No cable management holes below the motherboard
2.) No cable management holes above the motherboard
3.) Needs more places to run zip-tie cables
4.) Side panel fan can't be used with some CPU coolers

Other Thoughts: I bought the red version of this case over a year ago for my home file server. Filled it with 2 iStarUSA 4x3 5.25" hard drive raid enclosures, 1 Blu-Ray drive, 1 DVD drive, and 1 5.25" hard drive bay for a removable SSD caddy. I just rebuilt the system with a new motherboard and changed the CPU cooler from a regular fan/heatsink, to a Corsair H60 watercooler. My experience over the year has been that this is a gorgeous case for very little money and one of the few cases with 9 fully usable 5.25" drive bays. As I mentioned in the cons, the only real issue with this case is a lack of more cable management holes, everything ends up getting crowded with the few holes provided. The biggest problem is of course the side panel fan. It sticks into the case and hits cables and gets in the way of any tall CPU coolers. It was completely unusable with a Corsair H60 watercooler mounted at the back of the case. There is no way to keep the hoses clear of the fully exposed fan blades. Thankfully, Raidmax included fan mounts on the side panel for a 120MM fan, so removing the larger fan and reusing the screws with a 120MM worked perfectly and had all the clearance necessary for the watercooler hoses. I would highly recommend this case for a file server if you want to fill the 5.25" bays with hard drive caddies. Also, checkout the iStarUSA caddies to go with it.

2 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX Seiran ATX-902WB

Pros: 9 5.25" external bays

Cons: 1. Not enough cable management space behind the motherboard tray. The pushed out side panel design is not enough depth or area to store unused power supply cables.

2. The "180 MM side fan" is not usable with large 158 MM CPU cooler installed.

3. Unable to adjust depth of 5.25" optical drives. If you use the tool less mount, the drives stick out a bit, If you use screws the drives can either stick out or be pushed in too far. No custom adjustment unless you like to grind away some of the metal between mounting holes.

4. Case comes with only one set of 120 MM mounts for front mounting. I'd like to be able to mount two fans up front. A second set of mounts should be included. This is a gaming case.

Other Thoughts: Guess I need to do a few mods on this case to make fit for me.

3 out of 5 eggsGood case but with cons

Pros: Case looks really nice when its all put together and lights on, love on how many racks there are

Cons: the Fan control controller wires are way way to short and i can't even hook them up on my motherboard, I also can't hook up my front fan since it has short cables to. really wish raidmax would get ahold of me to hook me up with some longer wires or a adapter to make it longer

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First we like to thank you for your review.
We have heard your response and forwarded over to our production team in our manufacture factory overseas.
We will look into the wire length.

4 out of 5 eggsA great case for the price

Pros: Very cool looking case, enough fans to keep your system cool. It has a definite WOW factor when people see it, including myself. Fits all components nicely, and has generous and accessible cable management space. It's very sturdy and has a nice handle on the top for carrying it. The mesh on the entire front and most of the side makes for a really nice ventilation system. The front panels are really cool in that it's completely customizable, and you can put your drives anywhere you want, on the front of the case. You could also mount another fan in the front if you wanted as well.

Cons: LEDs aren't quite as bright as I had hoped. USB 3.0 slot is sometimes a little funky, acting like a 2.0, but that might be a problem somewhere else in my system. The LED fan on the front of the case means there will quickly be a circle of dust on the front of your case, which means you'll have to frequently clean it if you care about the looks. Also, the front panels thst you can remove are a bit flimsy, so if your elbow or knee, or pretty much anything bumps into the front, the panels may move and be pushed into the case itself, leaving a hole in the front and the rest of the panels to sag like a broken CD shelf. Just a minor annoyance if you have your case in an often - touched place.

Other Thoughts: It's a cool case and works well, very a esthetically pleasing. I would definitely recommend buying it. I used this one for myself, and also built my friend's PC with the white version of this case, and we are both very happy.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything is pretty easy to install and the cable management is average but it works. Looks wicked.

Terrific airflow, comes with 2 smaller case fans and one huge one that goes on the side. I can feel the air coming out of it which is great!

Cons: Front fan was noisy, which is annoying. It's died down now but for an hour or so prior to writing this it made a bunch of noise (nothing was getting caught in it). The drive bay clip locks feel cheap and with cable-heavy PSUs the lack of cable management space is annoying.

Other Thoughts: Other than the fan and cable management, you can't go wrong for the price. I had a couple Ultra cases before this one and they had a lot more problems and were more expensive. Worth the buy.

1 out of 5 eggsTrash disguised as a case

Pros: None. I suppose it would make a great paper weight.

Cons: The very cool concept of each 5.25 bay cover being removed individually from the outside is conceptually awesome, the execution doesn't quite get it there. Any pressure at ALL on ANY of them will result in the one being pushed and the ones above and below it falling into the case. Cable management is a joke, and airflow? Here's a thought: Most of us water cool these days. Hows about a spot for a radiator to mount? There are only 2- 3.5 adapter plates provided, and the tool-less feature doesn't secure drives well at all. I have a couple 40 dollar cases that are all around better than this.

Other Thoughts: Oh yeah, and as an added bonus? 4 days in, the power button fails. I cobbed in a momentary contact from an Arduino. What am I going to do? Wait for these people to send me another one? And have to do all the work 3 times? Do yourself a favor: if you need a real case, buy what you can afford. OR, just get a 40$ econo box knowing it's going to be somewhat annoying.

4 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX Seiran ATX-902WB Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great looking, tons of cooling options in the fans provided. I like the color scheme, the front panel options, and tons of support for other additions ( extra 3.5 drives)

Cons: Horrible area for cable management. Wasted alot of space in the expansion bays by tucking wires into it. Also, my GPU power cable sticks out fairly well and sometimes interferes with the side panel big fan. It will get annoying sometimes, but i have used more expansion bay space and tied it back. Not many tools given to keep the wires back and optimal airflow, wish it came with more zip ties + cable tie downs.

Secondly; I had a huge problem with the wiring scheme for this computer cases' passthrough. I couldnt make any of my cables from my power supply reach the motherboard trying to use the holes provided. Not sure if i have a weird supply, or if holes are meant for full size boards. Also, Fan connectors for the front panel fan are not long enough and now i just had to order new fan power cable extensions. 3 dollars apiece. The SYS fan 3 pin connector on my motherboard also does not adapt to the default back case fan. It is a 4 pin molex, and the system now error's on startup ( which means nothing because it works with 4 pin molex, just need to order another adapter to make it plug into the 3 pin.)

Other Thoughts: Great overall case, I gave it four stars bcause im not sure if it is my motherboard that is subpar ( it is circa 2010) , or if the cable management problems + extension problems + adapter problem is just me.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it.

Pros: I like how you can take the front tiny panels off, and it comes with extras. I also like the size of the case, just right, if not more space for all my things :3
Huge fan on the panel, exhaust fan on the back, on front as well..It does its job.

Cons: None at the moment.

4 out of 5 eggsReplacing after a year.

Pros: This is a great case. It has plenty of room, lots of expansion, great looks, great airflow, and pretty good construction.

Cons: After a year the connections from the case that control the speed of the 2 included fans have completely died out leaving my fans almost useless. Cable management is also a little awkward to get around.

Other Thoughts: Great case for the price I bought it at. Just wish I could keep it longer.
