Raidmax Viper Steel & Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

The awesome new Viper mid-tower case from Raidmax stands out from the crowd with tricky appearance and cold lines. Besides the preinstalled 120mm rear fan, this case also supports several optional fans to make voluminous air flow possible to prolong the life of your valuable PC components. Streamline design, bold color combination, along with tool-less installation, excellent cable management and water cooling support, the Viper is definitely a trendy choice for power users.

2 out of 5 eggsToo small for modern graphics cards

Pros: Looks nice.

Cons: Glass panel on the side provides visibility of nothing useful
Front door blocks access to USB and headset connectors.
Too small for any decent sized video card. If you're looking for a gaming machine, I can't recommend this case. The section that holds the hard drives is placed to exactly block the graphics card slot on my motherboard. I bought an nvidia 970, the smallest one available, and it will not fit.
cable management is a pain, due to the lack of space around the motherboard and the hard drives.

Manufacturer Response:

2 out of 5 eggsBad Cable Management/Shipping

Pros: The case has nice docking for hard drives, thats about it.

Cons: The case has horrible cable management, it does not glow like it looks in the picture (not actually a con but i thought you'd like to know)
My case came with no screws, cable ties, motherboard speaker, no mounting points. Essentially nothing but the case. I spoke to newegg and they sent me a packet of the items missing but it took them a very long time. The case also has annoying pci slot break offs.

Other Thoughts: It's an okay case, but not for a good build.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
Thank you for your review.
If you need any parts, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.

5 out of 5 eggsLove the features

Pros: Number of external bays
Number of internal bays
Has an external 3.5"
USB 3 on the front panel
Both side come off easily
Comes with rear case fan
Mountings for top, side and front fans

Cons: Quick locks for drives seem a little flimsy, but we'll see.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: The pre-installed MOBO screws were great. Plenty of space for drives, as well as the nice nobs on the side that make the case less reliant on screw drivers. Plenty of space for extra fans. Nice size as well, fairly mobile, lightweight case.

Cons: I was disappointed that there was just the one fan pre-installed. It is wide open for plenty of cooling but only has one fan. Now, with the CPU fan, the one installed fan, and the fan on the PSU, plus all the wide open slots all over it there is plenty of cooling for my tastes, but an extra fan wouldn't have hurt.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsSolid first case

Pros: This being my first build I'm not too sure what makes the perfect case, but this does everything I need it to. Lots of holes for fan mounts, easy to open, has usb 3.. Cools pretty sweet too. Fit my Micro ATX board fine

Comes with a dust filter for the PSU vent which is nice.

Cons: While I like the idea for the door it does suck having to open it every single time I want to plug in a usb or turn on my computer.

The fan it comes with is alright, maybe mine is just defective but if I have it facing up instead of flat down it gives a whining noise

I have a MSI 670 PE and while the card did fit, its a very tight squeeze because of the placement of the HDD.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat look

Pros: The look is sweet
The build went smoothly except for..see other thoughts

Cons: The door - I thought I'd like it, but I have it open more often than not to plug things in. The biggest problem is the power switch is behind the door so you have to open the door to hit the switch. Just beware. Not deducting an egg for that just think about your use before buying this case.

Other Thoughts: The audio plus, usb ports, power switch are behind the door. Just FYI.
We had difficulty fitting a double fanned water cooler radiator in this. (non-custom type) - we got it into the top but it took some modding to do it. Not a big deal as there is room, just again FYI

5 out of 5 eggsWoo!

Pros: Love it. Love it. Lots of usb. and space. Tons of fan room(make sure u get 120mm fans 3 of them)

Cons: I dislike the front panel... When you close the door if you have anything plugged in you cannot. I wish the would of either gotten rid of the door.(i broke mine off). Or moved the usb's and audio jax to a better location

2 out of 5 eggsDesign flaws

Pros: Good on the eyes, easy drive installation

Cons: The front cover is nice but a little flimsy Nd it seems annoying to have to flip it open for stuff.

Rosewill stallion psu I purchased does not work with this case due to a design flaw, on the inside instead of leaving it flat they placed a large bump right where the psu goes so it is impossible to screw into the back.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
First we like to thank you for your review.
We have heard your response regarding the bump near the PSU and forwarded over to our production team in our manufacture factory overseas.
I might of been a small defect during production. We apologize.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com for faster respond/service.
