4 out of 5 eggsVery good case, needs a better owner's booklet.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of room
Fits many motherboard sizes
Built in cable management solution, with additional supplies
Hard drive bays easily removable for disk management
SSD hotswap port
Good overall build quality

Cons: Needs an explanation of how the built in fan controller works
Reset Button is too easy to press
Shoddy Molex pins
Included fans are not silent.
Included dust covers do not promote airflow in secondary fan locations.

Other Thoughts: This case is fantastic as a case, lots of room and easy access to all components really sells it.

You may want to purchase new fans if you want a quieter (or just not blue) system.

If you have cats, you probably want to leave the reset button unconnected.

I still don't know if I hooked the fan controller in properly...

4 out of 5 eggsDescent case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is rather large and fits most motherboard types needed. There are no worries about cable management or components not being able to fit in this case. Plenty of fan mounts, allowing not only for a cool system but also a quiet one, even has one on the bottom. Dust covers almost everywhere, hot swap bay on the top. Plenty of drive bays. And the best part is that the top and side panels all have thumb screws!

Cons: There are many that I have found. The molex connectors are a pain, very loose and I am not surprised when I find out ive spent five minutes to connect one. The front fan is a bit loud and is blue, so be sure to color code your components to match this case. The rear 140mm is the loudest fan ive ever had, I remounted it on the bottom and kept it at the lowest rpm I could and was a little annoying still and I ended up replacing it. The hard drive cage is non modular in any spot, even though there is a 200mm fan at the front i'd still like to mount a pump and reservoir without having to sacrifice my bottom fan mount. The side panel has 2x120mm mounts and the holes are square and you will grind into them or crack them, the plastic is smoked so adding led strips is a must to show off, and there are no filters for the side. This is a big con for me because I hate dust. I did buy filters but I couldn't use one due to having a 120mm rad in the rear, I couldn't get the side panel on. The top of the case has a nice filter but YOU DO NEED STATIC PRESSURE FANS otherwise mounting fans on the top is useless, I haven't gotten air to move through all 3 layers of mesh with airflow fans. There are no ssd mounts behind the right side panel unfortunately, and the cutouts for cable management have cheap grommets that will lose pieces and fall out, superglue fixes the falling out part.

Other Thoughts: this case is not for someone who wants to liquid cool their system, is hard to make a quiet and cool system, and isn't dust resistant. But for the average or even a little more of an enthusiast...this case is amazing

3 out of 5 eggsDecent case, but misleading

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: The chassis is very roomy, sturdy, sleek and attractive without being too fancy, and has great airflow possibilities. It has a number of filters and grilles to prevent the case from sucking in too much dust.

There is a cutaway in the backplate (beneath the motherboard) that gives you access to the reverse side of the CPU socket. This is great for adding/changing an aftermarket CPU cooler without removing the motherboard.

There is a hole on the bottom of the case, behind the power supply, where you can mount an extra 120mm fan or a 140mm fan. There is a filter covering the hole on the inside, but if you remove it and attach a 120mm fan, you can reattach the filter on the outside. Unfortunately, if you have a non-modular power supply, the cables might get in the way. A slim-profile fan might be best.

There are four ports for tubing in the rear of the case at the top. They are pictured, but not mentioned in the product description or specifications.

Drive bay covers and PCI slot covers are all perforated for airflow (drive bay covers are filtered as well).

All of the ports on the top front (USB, audio, and 2.5" SATA hotswap) have replacable covers.

Cons: This case does NOT support 2x 140mm fans on top as RAIDMAX claims; two of the screw holes are missing. That means you can only mount a single 140mm fan on top in the rearmost position (or a 200mm fan or 2x 120mm fans). If you want to install two 140mm fans or a radiator with a similar profile, you will need to drill two additional holes and void your warranty. At the time of this review, Newegg has corrected the specifications page to reflect this, but there is still a graphic on the overview page which claims that you can mount both fans, and the product packaging makes the same claim, so I feel that it's a good thing to mention. This is my main complaint with the case, as the description from RAIDMAX is very misleading. I contacted RAIDMAX about it, but support didn't have much to say other than "that was wrong on box." Very poor job on that.

The internal drive mounting brackets block the ports on small 2.5" drives (such as typical SSDs). I was able to cut some of the plastic away on a couple of the brackets pretty easily to fix this, but it's an inconvenience.

Molex power connectors for some of the attached components (front intake fan, etc.) are very cheap and flimsy; the four pins move around inside the connector making it difficult to attach the male connectors to the power supply without breaking them. Be careful to align them and don't use too much force.

There might as well not be a manual; the one that is included is more of a quick-start guide. If this is your first build, you might need some help from someone with more experience.

Other Thoughts: There is no speaker included with the case (for POST notifications/alarms/etc.).

There is no power LED; the only status LED is for HDD activity.

Despite the blue glow of the case in the photos, the only component with LEDs is the front intake fan. If you're like me and don't like a lot of bright lights in your case, you can replace the fan pretty easily after removing the front of the case. (Start with the tabs on the bottom of the cover and work your way up.) The stock fan isn't great anyway, so you might as well install something better.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case/Great Customer Srvc.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is very roomy, offers great cable management, great airflow, and is beautifully styled, as well. I like how all of the front panel stuff is actually located on the top panel. This is optimum when the tower sits on, or close to, the floor. I also like the drive bays and trays. Build quality is outstanding. Best customer service ever!

Cons: Here's the only problem that I've had with this case so far, which was more my fault than it was Raidmax's. They should have warning stickers for how to properly carry this case. Here's the scenario: After installing all of my hardware, I had to move it from my bench to my office. I placed my right hand on the front-right corner, near the top of the front panel. With my left hand, I reached underneath the back (where the PSU dust filter is removed from), and lifted the case upwards. With my left hand lifting from the bottom, and my right hand preventing the top from moving around, I carried it to it's spot. As I bent over to set it down, the dust filter slipped out of the slot, causing the case to fall a short distance onto my foot, and scraping my left arm on the thumb screws. The dust filter snapped in two, but stayed held together by the screen. Some of the plastic clips that hold the front face plate to the case broke off. Although, after putting the face plate back on, it stayed in place pretty well, even with some of the clips missing or cracked.

Other Thoughts: I have to commend Raidmax on their excellent customer service. I contacted them online to see if they carry replacement parts, such as dust filters and face plates. When I told them what happened with the fall, they asked me for a copy of my invoice, and they immediately shipped me a replacement dust filter and face plate, free of charge. How's that for service?! I highly recommend these guys, and I will definitely buy more of their products in the future because of this. I do hope that they start putting some sort of warnings stating that improperly carrying their cases could result in damage or injury.

5 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX Vampire ATX

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: The tower has a LOT of room to work with. I love the way it looks. The built in fan control is a plus as well.

Cons: None - I was looking for something around this size and look with red lights, but if the color is my biggest problem I have lived a happy life.

4 out of 5 eggsA bit big but I like it

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: The cable management on this case is great. You can use the top of the case for a huge water cooler.

Cons: I just got this case, as soon as I pull it out I find the side case window broken at every screw hole but one. That worker must have had a bad day or something, BUT HOW DID THAT PASS INSPECTION!!

Other Thoughts: The "Users Manual" Is just about worthless. It cheap folded paper and is lacking in info. Like there is a set of three 3pin cables with special ends and no info or lables about them. If I was a beginner I would have had a heck of a time with this case.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

This review is from: RAIDMAX Vampire ATX-001WBTi Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Big and roomy, swappable external 2.5'' bay, fan controller (I dont use it, but it's great to have if you do!), BEAUTIFUL, did I mention roomy?

Cons: Side panel attracts smudges and fingerprints, also the side panel has a smoke tint instead of clear, it only comes in blue, and mic/headphone front jacks are swapped (mic needs to plug in headphone jack and vice-versa)

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately the only color it comes in is blue, which doesn't fit my red build, but I just bought a couple red led fans to replace them ($30), so replacing those were a breeze. The front audio panel defect is annoying, but it's not the end of the world. At the end of the day, it's a great case that looks awesome. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

Pros: This is an awesome case with Plenty of room for expansion. The blue LED front fan is a nice touch!

Cons: Not really a con but the side window is tinted. Would have preferred clear, but still shines and can see all the components. Still great with plenty of room.
