5 out of 5 eggspretty good

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Good looking
secures computer components so they don't move around
backplate for hiding wires has extra room so it looks pretty

Cons: a little tight for the watercooling

Other Thoughts: as I said the watercooling had a really hard time fitting in, had to modify a little. other than that everything works quite swimminly, love the spot for the SSHD that can make it mobile, gives me nostalgia for zip disks

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Air flow great and looks great.

Cons: Cheaply made.

Other Thoughts: I've had this case for 8 months, bought it for computer I built for my Grandma. Power switch on top of case went out today. Hope they can ship me the switch cause I'm not shipping the case to 'em for that. I just will look elsewhere for cases in the future.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,
We are sorry to hear the Power Switch created some problems for you.
It's no problem we can probably send out a switch for you, please send a email to rma@raidmax.com and ask our tech for parts.
We appreciate you choosing Raidmax products.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Is roomy for an ATX. The mod design is easy to move, to allow the use of SSD drives. It will hold a total of 6 drives right out of the box. The mod design also allows for large video cards, as the plate can be removed completely. The 3 bottom drive try's will accept either normal drives or SSD's drives. The radiator can be mounted right above the cpu, and can take a large one. A real big plus that I did not see reading about the case is the SSD Hot swap right in the front. Was cheap. The glass in the side panel has a decent design on it, that you don't see in the photos as well.

Cons: The only reason I did not give it 5 eggs, is because of the fans. Not enough, but I knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: I am not a real big fan of this company, but I have bought 2 different case's from them, and so far they have been good ones. If you buy this case, buy some extra fan's, as they only have one in the front and one in the rear. And you can add a total of 4 more.

5 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great looking case. This case was able to house my Corsair H100i much better than my previous case with some room left over. I love the green, just because green is my favorite color.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I've seen some threads about bad airflow, but I haven't found that to be an issue yet, everything seems to be running cool. I did add some extra fans which could be the reason.

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome looking case, but...

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Awesome looking case. Looks totally alien and I love it. I was worried the green case lights would be too bright in my room at night, but they're just right. It's relatively light weight for being steel/plastic as well, so i'm happy about that, even though i doubt i'll be moving it around that often.

Overall though, i'm pleased with it... aside from the cons listed below.

Cons: All but one of the motherboard's standoff screws that came with the case were cross threaded, making it impossible to secure the motherboard without forcing the screws. Meaning I had to go out and buy new ones. Unfortunately the store i bought them from, didn't have the correct height standoff screws, resulting in the motherboard sitting lower in the case than it should be. In turn, this resulted in having to remove the motherboard's backplate, so now I've got a gaping hole in the back of my case.
Another side effect of the motherboard sitting lower than intended, is that my Wireless NIC card is sitting wonky on the motherboard. I had to loosen a screw on the card's bracket just to it to sit right without pulling the card from the motherboard all together.

To say that I was a bit Annoyed is putting it lightly.
If at all possible, I would LOVE to get replacement standoff screws. =\

Other Thoughts: So long as you get a case that doesn't have cross threaded standoff screws, I'd say it's a great buy so far. Just be prepared to buy new ones in the event they aren't machined properly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case looks great for a good price I payed 70 bucks on sale. I own the same case just in red. I also like that I have room to upgrade from my 120mm water cooling system to 240mm. This was for my first gaming build had no issues everything fit nicely in the case. It fit my 280x toxic which is a 12 inch long graphics card thanks to the removable piece above the drive bay. I also love the hot swap 2.5 inch bay its a nice feature to have.

Cons: I find the airflow isn't the best but that could be because I haven't installed another 2 fans yet inside. Also the box came a bit damaged but the case was fine.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely recommend! Just hope my airflow improves with a few more fans.

4 out of 5 eggsLove the Case, But !

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great looking Gaming case with optional additional cooling LED fans, plenty of room for PSU modular cable mgmt. Also can handle a Cooler Master Seidon 240M” – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans on the top portion, and most new Graphics cards.

Cons: Unable to fit the Radiator portion, onto the rear portion of the case, of the new R9 295X2 (Liq Cooled) Graphics card when combined with a Cooler Master Seidon 240M” – All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System with 240mm Radiator and 2 Fans. Had to remove the Seidon 240M and go with the single 120mm Radiator and Fan Cooler Master Seidon 120V – Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water Cooling System. Hope Raidmax makes more room on either the top or rear portion of the case to enable both 240m and new liq cooled graphics card to fit.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line, Awesome looking, and with minor adjustments, case will be able to handle both 2 radiator cpu cooling and liq cooled graphics

5 out of 5 eggsLove it.

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Brings back my childhood love of Transformers and G. I. Joe toys. This thing looks like a futuristic toy, but it's also an excellent case. The hot swap slot on top is the icing on the cake. The internal design and layout is excellent, too.

Cons: No 3.5" drive bay for floppy. No, I don't use a freakin' floppy drive. I have a multi-format card reader that fits in those slots.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could have gotten a red one as well before they went out of stock. If I could justify it I'd buy a bunch of these and they would take over the world. They should come with Autobot and Decepticon badges. :P

3 out of 5 eggsMounting hardware...

This review is from: RAIDMAX Viper GX ATX-512WBG Black/Green Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks sick, big, somewhat easy cable management.

Cons: Top USB ports don't work, hard to cable manage the 24pin cord, DIDN'T SPECIFY IT CAME WITH MOUNTING HARDWARE FOR THE MOBO. So I went out and bought screws not knowing I had some.
