5 out of 5 eggsFits in stereo cabinet semlessly

Pros: Case has a lot of room. I currently have an NVIDIA Quatro installed while I wait for my 8500GGT to be shipped back. It fits with space to give. It holds 6 HDs. It looks a lot like my stereo reciever and my Cox DVR.

Cons: Time consuming putting everything together perfectly. You need to put aside almost an entire day to put your system together properly.

Other Thoughts: I love the case, and if I build another case for someone else I will buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a big case, but a little cramped

Pros: This is a big case, holds 6 hard drives and an optical drive. It can also accomodate full sized ATX motherboards. The front bezel is excellent, nice hunk of brushed aluminum that fits in with the rest of my brushed aluminum audio components. The 2 HD drive cages come with 80mm fan mounts to improve airflow. The remote control "on / off" function is great, the Windows MCE remote only does standby and that has never been a reliable Windows function. Finally, I just looks great in my equipment rack.

Cons: I've built hundreds of computers in my lifetime and I guess I've become used to large tower cases. As big as the case is, it is still a lot smaller than the average tower case. As such, the interior can get cramped when fully outfitted. The front of a full ATX motherboard can interfer with the wiring from the drives in the drive cages. Also, there are a lot of wires for the front I/O ports and the VFD and when you factor in the wires for 4-6 hard drives, the extra mobo power connector extension, and optical drive; wire routing becomes a serious amount of work. Plan on spending time to plan out cable runs. The iMon software works, but it isn't intended for power users like myself. I have 1800+ albums of lossless audio on 2TB of storage and the iMon multimedia software interface is just horrible for navigating a collection that large. Expect to use Media Player or WinAMP for collections larger than a few hundred cds.

Other Thoughts: The VFD is a nice toy, but in hindsight it wasn't really needed. I sit 17' back from a 120" screen and I can't see anything on the VFD from that distance. I ended up buying a cheap 19" monitor and a long DVI cable for use in navigating my music collection. That ended up only costing marginally more than a VFD and was far more effective. All in all, this is an excellent case for experienced builders and HT enthusiasts. Just plan ahead and you'll be quite happy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: tons of hdd bays
sharp looks
decent layout (for as much as can be crammed in there)

Cons: cover is a bit fiddly to get back on
can be tricky to get the optical drive lined up properly (I had to tweak the VFD wiring slightly to get the drive in the correct position)
front knob is a bit flimsy feeling, but I doubt I'll ever use it

Other Thoughts: I currently have 7 hdds (5 500 gigs in raid 5 for dvds, 80 gig o/s and 320 gig pvr) plus optical running in this case. so far so good...

4 out of 5 eggsTrue Case Review

Pros: I saw many reviews and even a video about how good this case rock the world, but all of these review does not give you a detail picture of what is really good or bad of case. Here is my point.
1. Excellent face plate including exceptional material, blend in to home theather sound system with out any issues
2. Great VFD display, color, contrast and brightness just right
3. Steel case construction very sturdy.
4. Great air flow where you may install up to total of 4 fans.

Cons: The con of this case will make you think about the price you going to pay for this case, here are few pointers:
1. The case is tall and big and heavy, with two HDD, P4, PCI-E VGA, and power supply etc. you are weighting in at 35 to 40lb. Your entertainment shelf must be able to support the weight.
2. The location of HDD on either side of the case can be in a way with the power supplies cables or increase the CPU zone temperature to a higher level if you install it on the right side of the case when you face from the front.
3. The front edge of MB can be interfering with the cable coming out of the front panel and VFD connection cables.
4. The VFD cable was in the way of optical drive, I had to rearrange the USB cable on the VFD unit to stay clear of drive bay.
5. Yes the VGA card can not be longer 7.5 inch in length other wise it will run in to the optical drive.
6. For $270 dollars plus the case does not come with the I-Mon software CD ROM and batteries for the remote that is a

Other Thoughts: The case if not for first time builder I will say you will need to build at lease 3 or more computer in order to meet the challenge

2 out of 5 eggsCase Reboxed, Many issues

Pros: Teh case workmanship itself is excellent. Great looks, well assembled, full featured

Cons: I ordered the silver case. When it arrived the box had been re-sealed with a poor tape job. Box was for a black case, VFD and control buttons do not work.

Other Thoughts: Obviously, if the box has been opened one shouldn't bother accepting the product. Sad, but it seems to ALWAYS be the case with internet purchases

4 out of 5 eggsDon't skimp on the basics

Pros: Solid, heavy case

Very quiet 80mm fans

Looks fantastic

Excellent venting abilities; you can install 6 fans without any case modifications!

Cons: Minor workmanship issues - buttons kinda cheap and not well installed.

Power supply mounting - with my seasonic installed the power supply doesn't contribute to system cooling.

Poor documentation

Other Thoughts: Made an xp mce machine out of this, with a sata raid card, 4 raid drives, an os drive and dvd rom. The install was quite smooth, though when I first hooked up the vfd the thing started smoking like a chimney, and I thought I had fried it. After rechecking the connections (they were correct) it worked fine. Mated this with a seasonic 380watt PS and the machine is very quiet; don't buy silent 80mm fans until you've seen if these are good enough, they were for me. You can forget about putting a geforce 6800/7800 or large ati graphics card in this, there simply isn't room. My sata card barely fit. The buttons on the front face are kinda cheap feeling and not properly centered in thier holes. I give it a 4 for poor docs but you should seriously consider this case. Its the only high end htpc case that supports 8 drives; luckily its a darn good one. The best think is knowing that - because its an atx case - I can use it for at least the next 10 years. Don't skimp on cases or the ps.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Home Theater Case

Pros: Nice fit and finish, hard drive bays have mounts for cooling fans, VFD very nice, Imon software and remote, nob acts for menu items or volume control. very quiet (with an Antec neopower 480 power supply).

Cons: Center optical drive bay has holes rather than slots for mounting which put my Lite-On DVD burner either too close or too far away from the front drive door which hindered open/close switch use. A little modification to slot the holes made everything function well.

Other Thoughts: Expensive but well worth the money! Looks awesome in my equipment rack! Functions great!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome HTPC case!

Comments: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16827152053 I watched this case for a while to see if it would go on sale because I was hesitant to spend what the case cost on it. Well, I got tired of waiting and went ahead and ordered. Lets just say it is worth every penny. Everything works awesome and it was pretty easy to assemble. The only issue I had was wiring up the firewire connection to the motherboard (it seems like the case had a different 1394 connector than what the mo board socket was made to accept). Other than that, no complaints. Very quite and very sharp looking. I put a silver NEC DVD burner in it (link below) and it looks awesome. The aluminum optical drive door on the case is very smooth operation and gives the case a high-end look. The media buttons on the case, the VFD, and the remote also all work perfect. Very nice touches. If you're building a HTPC and you are thinking about this case, don't hesitate to get it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Comments: This is the best case I have ever owned. Perfect Quality and looks great. The only shortcoming is the lack of detailed instructions.
