2 out of 5 eggsRequires planning and some modding

Pros: Very small case with an external power supply and a long cord, allowing you to stash the box almost anywhere you need it. Has slim optical drive bay (pro for those who have one). Extremely light!!

Cons: Despite being all aluminum with "logically" placed vent holes, the lack of airflow causes heat to build up quickly. I installed an N330 Ion board into it, and even at idle, in an air conditioned room, the temps were reaching the low-mid 60s (C). Simply removing the cover dropped it back into 38-40(C) range.

The power board (which takes the incoming DC and breaks it out into the different power cables) is mounted very close to where the ATX power connector is going to be on the board. This wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that clearance in that area is extremely tight when a 3.5" hard drive is mounted to a bracket just above it, and pushes against the cable bundle when installed. The length of power and front panel cables also makes it difficult to stash the excess.

Also, this may just had been a defect, but the DC plug on the back was very loose on my case. I bumped it while reaching for one of the rear USB plugs and it popped out a bit causing the case to lose po

Other Thoughts: The cooling problem can be remedied by mounting a 40mm fan to the side vent. Also, using a 2.5" hard drive (mounting bracket has holes for it) takes care of the space problem.

Overall not a bad case. But the amount of required forethought and higher cost of the smaller parts needed to solve the space problem earns it only 2 eggs.

NOT RECOMMENDED for those who are new to ITX builds and case modding. Should not be a problem for experienced system builders.
