Build the ultimate gaming rig with the RAVEN RV02-BW by SilverStone. This full-tower case can accommodate Micro ATX and ATX motherboards. Equip your case with all of the front panel peripherals your system needs, like LCD displays, fan controls and more with five 5.25-inch drive bays. You’ll also be able bulk-up your storage to install all of your games with three 3.5-inch drive bays. The RV02-BW also features eight expansion slots for triple video card installations.

The Raven innovates with its left panel mounting and 90-degree orientation. Heat is no longer vented out the rear of the case, but rather upward where heat is most likely to go. Three bottom-mounted 180mm fans draw fresh air from under the case, cooling your system while the top panel 120mm fan and vented expansion slots release the heat.

Other features include a motherboard back plate opening for convenient CPU heatsink installation. The 3.5-inch bays also feature an updated drive suspension system to minimize drive vibrations when the HDDs spin up. You can also take your system to the limit with water cooling and take advantage of the radiator mounting. Build your gaming system with the Lancool RV02-BW and crush the competition in style!

3 out of 5 eggsWhere's the hard drive cage?

Pros: It's a beautiful case, at first I wasn't sold on the orientation of the motherboard, having the cables come out the top, but now I don't think I would buy another case that wasn't like it. The fans are super quiet and there is ample space for all the hardware I filled it with.

Cons: Where is the hard drive cage?! I didn't even notice it wasn't there at first because I had an SSD for my boot drive for the longest time. Then I buy some 3Tb drives for storage space only to find that i'm missing the hard drive cage. This is super annoying and inconvenient.

Other Thoughts: would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to hack together a solution to install my 3.5" drives.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice case

Pros: I love the rotated design of the motherboard. A couple years ago I was designing my own custom case design that had this same feature, because I couldn't believe that no other company had thought of this.

-It puts less stress on your large video card, as it hangs naturally with gravity.
-It allows heat to naturally dissapate upward, just as heat normally functions.
-three massive fans (180mm) create all the airflow you need and are quiet, plus the 120mm fan up top is nice if you want to add one of those independent WC loops for your cpu.
-good cable management through the back side of the mobo, and on one side of the bottom fans.
-cool window so you can see your awesome setup
-nice routing for cables up top. the cover that clips up top is quality and can be repeatedly taken off and put back on without worry for wear n' tear.
-without an extra sound deadening, this case is still adequately quiet.

Cons: hdd cage is a pain to move. I have an ssd/hdd setup and it works great. However, the ssd is actually mounted on the side of the case, not in the 3.5" drive bays, may cause problems depending on where your mobos ports are.

I have some in the bottom corner of the mobo just below the PCI-e x16 lanes are, so it wasn't an issue for me. Please be aware of this.

Other Thoughts: I am running a 1090T Thuban BE at stock, with the stock cooler, and I really don't see the need to upgrade even though it would be best probably for my cpu. Thing is, is that I played Crysis full blast for 2 hours, check my temps with CPUID, and my temp under load was only 28C!! My idle temps are 22C.

I don't think I need an aftermarket cooler if those are truly my temps.

AMD 1090T Thuban @ 3.2 Ghz
8GB 1600mhz Gskill ripjaws
Zotac 680 GTX (love this card)
ASRock Deluxe4 AM3+ mobo
950 watt PSU
Plextor 128GB SSD
WD Black 1TB

Love my setup, I guess I could step up but all my games still run at full blast, or just a notch below which I still cannot notice any difference except for perfomance. I just run off of a 32" 1080p TV tho.

3 out of 5 eggsSize can be difficult

Pros: For the most part I am a big fan of this case. I think that it looks great, and the bottom-to-top venting I think is a really neat idea.
The case is built so that there is space to route cables that keeps them out of sight. This means that the nice big window on the side of the case shows a cool computer rather than a bunch of cables.

Cons: There are a small number of significant issues with this case that have soured my initial enthusiasm.
1.) The placement of the power and reset buttons on the top in the front means that it is very easy to inadvertently turn the computer off when you're in the middle of something. I've done it, my wife has done it, and even my cats have turned the computer off.
2.) The bright blue light is cool looking, but it can be annoying if the computer is still turned on when you're trying to sleep in the same room.
3.) The power supply mount is in the rear of the case, and the drive bays (HDD, SSD, optical drives, floppy drives, and so on) are at the front of the case. This means that when I added an SSD some years after I initially built the box my Corsair 750W PSU's cables almost made the addition impossible. Perhaps it's my fault for not thinking about how powering things would work, but when all I was powering were an HDD and an optical drive the two SATA power cables were totally sufficient. Adding the SSD required me to almost completely rearrange the placement of components inside the case so that I could power all three SATA devices (SSD, HDD, and optical drive).

Other Thoughts: This is a cool case, but take care that your PSU's cables will reach to where you want them to go.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing case, decent price.

Pros: TONS of internal room for components. Throw your biggest heat sinks and longest graphics cards in this baby! Nice clear cover on the right side. Top usb ports and audio connections. Tool less drive bays. Filtered air intakes, with washable filters. Three separate fan speed controllers (Hi-Low) for the bottom 180mm fans. Decent amount of room under the top for cables and wires. All airflow goes out the top of the case and temps stay pretty low even with a powerful system. No sharp edges internally to cut yourself on when installing components.

Cons: Cabling can be difficult to route if its thicker than average. The top must be removed to access any IO ports other than low power USB and audio. Cabling must be routed out the top rear of the case. Its reasonably quiet for the size of its fans (if you keep them on low). It is LOOOONG, it is pretty much a full tower case laying on its side, so its as long as a full tower is tall. You will need a deep if you want to keep it on top of it. This is a VERY big case.

Other Thoughts: Great case at a great price! Quality materials throughout and attention to detail. Very solidly built. This is a case that I will have for years.

4 out of 5 eggsLove & Hate

Pros: There is a lot of room to work with and everyhing is well built. You get more then what you paid for.

Cons: the hard drive bay! ... if you forget to mount your hard drives BEFORE putting your motherboard into your case with a normal ATX motherboard, you may end up hating yourself (unless im doing something wrong.

The hard drive bay will not slide out as the motherboard is in the way. Just keep that in mind.

Other Thoughts: none.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost perfect

Pros: Excellent airflow keeps my components cool even on warmer environments. 90 degree MOBO upwards makes a difference in temperature (4-10c). Cable management is amazing. Not as heavy as some other full tower cases. Love the top because you can organize cables there as well

Cons: Hard drive cage is a HUGE pain because you have to take out the MOBO in order to take out the hard drive cage. Another problem that bothers me is the Psu placement, it has no support so installing a Psu can be a pain. Since the motherboard is facing a 90 degree angle, a removable motherboard tray should be included.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. It's possible to remove RV02's hard drive cage through the front panel so you don't have to remove the motherboard. We have an instruction for how to do this on RV02's Q&A page in the below link (see Q3 on that page):

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case To Upgrade from Mid to Full

Pros: This case is amazing. I had a Raidmax Tornado Case and this was my next step up.

Some great things about it are:

1. Airflow- The 3 fans along the bottom do more than enough to keep my system cool. Before in my old case I used HWMonitor and after 1 hour of Battlefield 3 my temps would be in the high 80s! And that was with 3 fans in that case! Now my max temp after an hour in the Raven RV02 was 60 Celcius. Core temps dropped as well. Very nice.

2. 90 degree MOBO- I really enjoy the Motherboard setup the way it is. Plenty of room to work and I have a fully modular PSU and 7 cables coming out of my PSU and NONE of it was a problem to manage behind the case and NONE of it interfered with the mobo setup. Motherboard looks clean, neat ,and efficient. Very easy to work with.

3.Fan toggle switches- If you are worried about power then 3 toggle switches along the top fan area can have you toggle from High or Low. Very cool.

Cons: Some cons to this case:

1. HDD Cage - I did not have trouble with the HDD Cage like some people did. Just take your time and consider removing it via the front to prevent scratching but I do see how this could be an issue.

2. Fan Dust Screens - Each of the 3 lower fans on this case have a removable dust screen. Very cool feature; however, I have had a small issue with the screen getting stuck during removal. You just have to work with it a little and it will slide out. But I can see if you were in a hurry and pulling that it would either a. tear the screen or b. snap a plastic piece. Be Careful!

Other Thoughts: This was my second build I have done and it could not have been easier. I upgraded from a traditional mid tower into this unorthodox (in part placement) tower and could not be happier. Cooler temps, very easy to work in with plenty of room, and plenty of space for proper cable management. Very satisfied.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Case, few faults.

Pros: -This case is big. Very accommodating while modifying it for liquid cooling or just replacing parts.
-The construction is sturdy, all metal inside thick plastic on top and front.
- Plenty of holes for cable management.
- Great window, covers all the important parts.
- Best temperatures on the market for air cooling, when I had it air cooled.

Cons: - I received the case with a few not so minor scratches inside the hdd cage. It seems these are unavoidable as the cage is so tightly wedged inside the frame.
- A few more paint imperfections were at the top, not noticeable when the top is on.
- Okay, here is the big con. There is not enough room in the rear cavity for adequate cable management. I am only running 5 PSU cables through the back out of my modular PSU and the 24 pin power cable bows the back cover of the case. While not noticeable normally it is unsettling knowing it is all fit in so tightly. However, after sleeving the cables they all fit fine.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a balling big case that is both eyecatching and easy to work in. This is your case.

Don't expect a lot of room for cables as there isn't, but it is adequate once cables are sleeved. Wait for the RV04 (or whatever they are going to call it) if you want more cable management room.

5 out of 5 eggsYes... a right side window!

Pros: Right Side Window! Professional paint job. This case is amazing for cable management. The windows slide top down, instead of back to front. Will show off your hard work into the case. Bottoms fans have black sleeves. The Power/reset/HD very accessible for tidy cable management. Next step is molding/purchasing items for ascetic value.

Cons: The Top fan does not have a black sleeve like the bottom three. The HD cage was stuck. One of my bottom fan screens is frayed so I had to trim it to prevent the fans from making noise.

Other Thoughts: I have an ASUS P8Z77-V LK. It came with 2 sata cables which has a strait end and an end with a right angle. I would highly recommend buying sata cables that are strait both sides. This will help for installing a 6 Gb/s hard drive and a 6Gb/s mounted SSD mounted in the back of the case.
