1 out of 5 eggsOverpriced

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: This will hold a regular-sized power supply. Low profile.

Cons: Paint chips when a screw dropped from 3" hits the top of the case. Flimsy build. The metal used feels to be several millimeters thinner than what could be considered standard. The door to the 5.25" bay is loose when installed. The ridged design of the plastic front is reminiscent of an 80s "hologram" card. A metal bar is included to assist in reinforcing the case. It stretches across the middle top. Yes, they included a metal bar because that was cheaper than using aluminum for the entire case that would have only needed to be several millimeters thicker to provide a sturdier frame.

Other Thoughts: Silverstone is overpriced and it is ridiculous to charge $65 for a case that cost a fraction of that. They chose to maximize their profit margin over quality.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case but needs a few tweaks.

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Awesome form factor! I used a mATX board and it went in with no problems!

Great cable routing management for a case this size. Comes with big bundle ties to keep everything together.

Very flexible HDD/SSD placements.

Cons: Awesome form factor! My hands are too big to handle anything in the case without dropping it!

Useless SSD bracket. It goes over the front I/O panel and you cannot screw in the SSD or HDD without custom screws. The ones supplied just don't cut it.

Other Thoughts: Great for my new Steam stream box / HTPC. It fits under my TV but over my receiver perfectly. Looks awesome right now.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Very nice aesthetics. Looks right at home in a TV cabinet or entertainment center. Mounts for 4 cooling fans is a plus too. It also has several places to tie extra cables to keep them out of the way (and they give you some ties too).

Cons: Cooling fans are about the only thing there's plenty of space for. It's pretty cramped in there. Not much space for an aftermarket CPU cooler. The inside of the front plate had some extra flash or something from a weld that made it very difficult to get all four fans in place.

Other Thoughts: Pay close attention to the size of your components especially if you want an optical drive. Mine has about 1" between it and the PSU; barely enough room for the cables. Given the tight space I highly recommend going for all 4 fans.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Sturdy solid design. Nice arrangement of mounting bays allowing multiple HDDs to be installed. Allows for use of full sized ATX PSU in a case that easily fits into an entertainment center. Despite the small form factor there is ample room, especially with a micro-ATX motherboard. Anti-vibration grommets for mounting HDDs. Looks like a piece of AV equipment.

Cons: One of the screw holes for the power supply was slightly off. I managed to get a screw in but I was rather difficult to do without cross threading.

Other Thoughts: If you want a quality HTPC case without spending a lot of money this is your best bet.

4 out of 5 eggsAttractive case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Fits well on an entertainment center amongst HT gear
Good looking design
Fairly sturdy

Cons: If you have large hands like me, woe to you. Not much room to work in it
The lid has perforation to allow for the CPU fan to vent, but frustratingly has no perforations over the PSU area.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful case- belongs in my A/V rack!

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Beautiful low-profile case, exactly the same width as all my other A/V stuff- fits in the 19" rack perfectly.

Well laid out- enough room for my 2.5"SATA SSD, 3.5" SATA HDD, standard DVD/CD burner (SATA), Digital PCIe CableCard tuner, MicroATX Mobo (Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H), and my Rosewill ATX power supply. I didn't have any problems with cable routing or fan placement. Strong case- nice and solid construction.

Includes a nice (perhaps a bit too long) USB3 header cable AND a USB 2 header adapter (I didn't need the adapter, though).

Includes all the hardware, cable ties and thingies you'll need for a clean, solid build.

Cons: No included fan? Really? This case has (on the right side) 4 side by side mounts for 80mm fans.

Using the old-style PATA cable might be...a bit rough...I used all SATA.

Other Thoughts: More fans running slowly= good cooling with no noise. The entire right side is perforated. Keeps everything nice and cool.

Power supply fan draws air from bottom and exhausts out back.

Interesting plastic mount for additional 2.5" or 3.5" drive...or perhaps more...if you get creative.

Rubbber shock mounts for 3.5" drive bay. 2 Fan filters included.

I can't say enough good things about this case. It's pretty. It's well-built. If you're looking for an awesome HTPC case- THIS is it. I don't particularly like the "newer" replacement. Ya can't improve on perfection.

4 out of 5 eggsGood HTPC case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: It looks great and matches my other Theater Equipment. Its very roomy for an HTPC case.

Cons: The USB 3.0 cord is absurdly long. If you install a ATX power supply a CD-Rom may not fit depending on how big the power supply is. If you buy the Silverstone SPX power supply like I did you will need an ATX power extender to reach most ITX motherboard power connectors.

4 out of 5 eggsMakes for a good HTPC

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Stylish, roomy, and fairly easy to work with.
Takes a standard size ATX PSU
Front USB3 ports.

Cons: There's a 3.5"HDD mount under the 5.25" mounting bracket but you have to remove the bracket to really have access to it and its 6 screws to take out that mount. Do this first thing and save yourself some time. LoL

80mm fan mounts don't quite line up with the fan's screw holes but I managed to get 3 fans in with a little force.

Case is shinier than a black optical drive. I'm going to polish and wax my BDR drives face plate to try and get it to match better.

Other Thoughts: There's no front to back airflow, which you know if you look into this before you buy, but the side to rear works for me for this install. I just worry about the SSD & HDD since there is little airflow in that area. Since this is an HTPC and those won't be under heavy use this is probably ok but I would like to see a fan mount on that side of the case too; right next to the HDD mount would be perfect. :-)

4 out of 5 eggsQuality Case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Everything fit, including an Antec Earthwats 380W PSU.

It looks really nice in a media center with audio hardware, DVD players, DVR, and things like that.

This is a really small case, which is great for an HTPC. It's well-built, though. It just feels like a sturdy, quality case.

Cons: It's pretty cramped in there. We started to put things in at random and soon learned that things need to be installed in a particular order if you want to be able to reach. Just plan it out, though, and it will work out fine.

It was a few years ago now that we put this together. I definitely remember it being one of the more difficult machines I've ever had to assemble because the case was somewhat unpleasant, but we got it all worked out.

My only aesthetic complaint is that the large vent on the right side for the four little fans looks a bit tacky, but that's pretty minor.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you are aware that any expansion cards need to be half-height. Several wireless cards and cable cards come that way anyway (or have optional plates to switch between half-height and full-height), but most high-powered video cards aren't going to fit.

There's a front panel for an LCD screen, but you've got to buy it separately. We didn't do that. It doesn't look strange from the front without it, though.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Decent Case!!!

This review is from: SILVERSTONE Black Aluminum skin reinforced plastic front panel, 0.8mm SECC body MILO Series ML03B Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Pros: Pretty decent case, notable ventilation, decent quality. low profile form factor.

Cons: Maybe the finish on the front, it's hard to get a DVD/Blu Ray drive that matches, a brushed or semi gloss black would have been a better finish on the front panel.

Other Thoughts: Cooling could be a little bit better but, i modified mine, in such a way, that is sucks fresh form under neath and feeds it to the video card. I' also used some pretty crazy and un heard of wire management techniques to route quite few of the wires.

I used a stock phenom II cooler on a 65watt regor and lapped them both, temps are acceptable. (overclocked to 3.6) [GT640 2gb LP]

Ill be upgrading to a quad or 6 core in future with an AXP Muscle 200 CPU cooler.
