To push the thermal performance envelop of the Precision series to a new level, SilverStone engineers implemented the award-winning 180mm Air Penetrator fan (AP181) into the PS06 tower chassis. With the AP181 and an included silent 120mm fan, the PS06 is capable of top-level cooling performance usually reserved for chassis with twice the cost. Two additional 120mm fan slots lets users further improve cooling performance if necessary. To help keep the dust out while providing great performance, all intake fan slots are also equipped with easily removable fan filters to work effectively with the default positive pressure airflow scheme.

Ergonomic features from previous Precision series have also been retained with tool-less mechanisms for all drive bays along with a newly added external accessible 3.5"/2.5" combo hot-swappable bay on the front panel for convenient hard drive storage. Rounding up this superb package are all black interior, cable routing holes, anti-vibration hard drive brackets, dual USB 3.0 ports, and a daring new high-tech exterior styling. For enthusiasts looking for the most advanced mid-tower chassis available at a great price, the Precision PS06 is a great choice.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance One top mounted 180mm Air Penetrator fan (an industry leading air channeling fan with wide fan blades) and one 120mm front intake fan keep your chassis cool and unleash your system potential. 1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy drive mounting, good airflow with included fans. The metal parts feel solid. Has removable air filters.

Cons: Barely survived shipping; several standoffs and clips for the front panel were broken upon arrival (3 of 6 clips and two standoffs on the front panel were broken, 1 standoff on the top panel was broken that I had to partially disassemble the case to fix).

Air filters are a nice touch, though the plastic feels so flimsy I'm afraid to handle them. This goes for all the other plastic bits on the case, as well. I'm glad I'm not planning to move this case around a lot.

Other Thoughts: 20 years of building computers and this is the flimsiest case I've run into. Wish I would have gone with Cooler Master.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. It appears your PS06 has gone through overly-rough handling during its shipment. Please contact our US office directly and they will be able to help replace the case for you:

2 out of 5 eggsBad Airflow w/ Watercooled Loop

Pros: Looks amazing! It definitely stands out aesthetically. Nice little tray up top to sit my iPhone or wireless controller. 2.5 adapters are a nice perk.

Cons: Bad airflow if you're using a water loop utilizing the rear fan placement for your radiator.
USB ports way up top.
Limited 3rd party case fans for 180mm Silverstone slots.

Other Thoughts: I honestly love the look of this case. Matched the theme I was going for. The top fan is a 180mm 700rpm fan set to pull in air. Doesn't make sense since heat rises. My setup has always been bottom, front and rear fans intake and two 140/200mm fans pull air out from the top. It got so hot in this case that the adhesive on my green cathodes liquified and dropped th to the bottom of my case. I opted at first to get a bay adapter that would give me one more 120mm fan slot since I'm now using the top and front fans to pull air out. Not good for Ivy Bridge setup. So unless you plan on watercooling EVERYTHING, CPU, GPU, southbridge, etc, I would look for another case. I'm goung back to the NZXT Phantom series.

5 out of 5 eggsSilverStone

Pros: Large case to fit any and all motherboards with ease.
Hot swap-able hard drive bays are a dream come true.
180mm fan on the top with an On-Off switch at the top back.
Thumbscrews Everywhere! Extremely handy when putting in new parts or opening the case.

Cons: Has no side fan on the acrylic. Not the big of a con to take an Egg off though.

Other Thoughts: All around, this case is wonderful. The top back fan slot doesn't use screws, the case just holds it in place which i think is AWESOME! For the price, it is a huge and wonderful mid-tower case and I would suggest it to anyone looking for a new case. One of the best I've ever owned and had the pleasure of working on.

3 out of 5 eggsNot The Best Case But It Works

Pros: It looks nice and CD drives fit in very nicely and are easy to take out!

Cons: Well where do I start! The case only hold a maximum of 3 fans, unless you want to have have 2 fans sucking air from the bottom of the case. Next the hard drive tray that came with the computer did not come with rails, I don't know if that is just for mine or if anyone else has had this problem, I had to mount my hard drive in the hot swap bay and hope it doesn't come out. Also the power supply is a bottom mount, so it just barely reaches over the graphics card!

5 out of 5 eggsI'm happy.

Pros: Solid material.
Lots of openings for good cable management.
Removable drive rack.
Hotswap drive bay.
Perfect side window size.

Cons: The front panel is a pain to remove when your swapping out fans.
Nothing else really.

Other Thoughts: I really love the window. It's big!! So if you're building and wanna show off those high end parts, cooling system, this is the case for you. There's also easily removable dust filters on front and bottom. The front panel is a pain to remove. You can't just simply pull it out by squeezing the tension nubs shut. You have to get a really small but long screwdriver to remove them and then screw them back on before you pop on the front panel. A small hassle but building always requires some work. Not worth losing an egg over. Great price. Great job from Silverstone.

3 out of 5 eggsSome Issues but overall OK

Pros: Lots of room, great design, tool-less system USB 3.0. Overall this case was rather good but not great. I went with this case over a Corsair Case because it was under 100 and fit my budget.

Cons: The biggest flaw is the lack of cable management. The HD audio line is way too short that it couldn't connect my ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard. Other times there was way too much cabling that I had to fold it over just to shorten it enough. Then plugging in the fans was also another hassle. The Directions need a massive overhaul and maybe adding a template in the case would have solved some headaches. The fan system works rather well and is very quiet.

Other Thoughts: Overall its a good case, don't get me wrong. Is it worth the price probably not if I had to value the case at best its in the 65-75 dollar range. Now if they fix the problems (a more detailed guide, longer cables. I like the design but I think there could have been more room. Positive airflow does keep my system rather cool and I'm glad with that.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case, some issues

Pros: Sharp-looking case, side-window, no side vents (positive pressure construction, room for cable management, lots of room, big fan on top, fan filters

Cons: I put Corsair HX850 in it, the bracket is well-made, but takes up too much room - it blocked the screw holes for an additional bottom vent (which would work well for positive pressure scheme);

Top I/O panel is cheaply made. After plugging a cable in once or twice, the tiny, cheap screws that held the top panel attached to the top of the case from the inside broke off and the I/O panel just fell into the space in the top of the case; I had to find appropriate screws at Lowe's and use a drill to bolt the panel to the roof of the case. Looks good now, but it was a hassle.

Other Thoughts: I couldn't figure out how to use the hard drive bays for SSD, so I stuck it into the hot-swappable port and now it is sticking out, but the description says it is compatible, so I will write that off to my inexperience.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the money

Pros: Looks great
sturdy build
tool-less assembly
plenty of space for a larger graphics card, PSU and extra case fans
can't argue with the price

Cons: not a huge deal for me but the mounting screws that came with my Coolermaster 120mm aftermarket case fans cause the front dust filter to get stuck (I switched the default front fan for an LED fan for visual effect). the filters work fine with the default arrangement

motherboard tray is not removable, but this again is not an issue for me

Other Thoughts: the rebate process was a bit of a pain in the rear but I won't complain because I'm getting 20% of my money back

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Cooling is Amazing!!! Blwon away with the cooling.
Plenty of room.
Great wire managment.
Air Filters a Plus++ with cats!!! Easy remvoal too!
Looks hot!!! The blue is darker than the pic.
Love the quick install drive slots, the rear fan snaps into place with no screws and the optical drive slid in like in 2 seconds.
Great finish, small amonts of plastic for accent and the side window is awesome. Plus no tacky lights minus the bright front led power button.

Cons: The audio wire is short.
Purchased "APEVIA 11" Audio Extension cable for a standard " from this site and it fit to my 990-ud3 board nicely.
Not enough standoffs.
No speaker included!! Weak-Sauce sir!

Other Thoughts: No regrets, would be nice if silverstone sent me a speaker for my board.. cheapskates :p

Oh and 3 board stansoffs... Plus an extra for my troubles.
