SilverStone Sugo Series Mini-ITX Desktop Computer Case

Designed for use with Mini-DTX and Mini-ITX motherboards, the SG06-450, like the SG05 is the smallest Sugo yet. Compared with Micro-ATX iterations similar in volume, the SG06-450 is less than half the size! In keeping with the spirit of its Sugo name, the case is capable of accommodating many standard components while keeping everything cooled. The SG06-450 is equipped with a low speed 120mm fan that utilizes golf blades for exceptional quietness to airflow. As in the SG05, the fan is mounted in the front drawing air into the case to create positive air pressure cooling. Other notable features that are shared with the SG05 include the ability to accept 10-inch long graphics card, room for thicker 2.5-inch hard drives such as Western Digital's VelociRaptor™, full-height for retail boxed CPU coolers, and an 80 PLUS Bronze certified SFX 450W power supply tuned by SilverStone for improved quietness and performance. For building a fast PC in the smallest possible form factor and with great styling, there is nothing better than the SG06-450.

4 out of 5 eggsOne of the most well-rounded ITX cases.

Pros: + Good build quality.
+ Small compact size, a "true" ITX case.
+ Removable drive cage.
+ Accepts VGA cards up to 10" length.

Cons: - Odd reset switch placement.

Other Thoughts: I've been a big fan of ITX builds and tried a Lian Li PC-Q08B and the EVGA Hadron Air before coming back to this Silverstone case. This is an ITX case that is truly compact but offers enough space to install all but the biggest VGA cards (The 450W power supply will likely be a bigger obstacle than the actual size of the card). Included PSU is pretty quiet, and the removable drive cage and power supply brace makes accessing components a snap.

I put a Xeon E1240v3 in this case and had an ASUS Maximus Impact VI force all cores to run at the same speed, so all the cores ramps up to 3.8 GHz under load. Thermal performance is quite good for its size, as the case is well ventilated and 4+ hours of gaming (Skyrim, NFS Rivals, Civilization V) keeps the CPU and GPU right at 70C.

Not really a complaint, but more of suggestion for Silverstone: why not make a 2.5" drive mount right next to the PSU (Right above the video card)? There is a generous amount of space in this area and being able to mount a SSD here would mean the entire drive cage can be removed to make room for a nice 120mm watercooling AIO kit for those that do not use optical drives or have any 3.5" drives.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Case

Pros: Well designed sturdy case, just be careful to install the HD before your slim drive. Case fans are very quiet.

Cons: Silverstone could have thought to put in a mini sata power connector in the box since their case requires a slim drive. There is none on the power supply so you will need a slimline adapter to go from the Molex connectors to the tiny SATA power connection. After 3 days of waiting for the parts and putting it together I can't install windows or do anything because the drive has no power. Gotta wait another 3 days for a power connector. Lame with a dash of anger!

Don't do what I did if you buy this case. For the price you pay for it you would expect everything to be there. You will need to buy some more power connectors for your slim line sata drive.

Other Thoughts: The only reason I give the case 3 stars is for the lack of foresight on Silverstone's part. With the price on the case being as high as it is they should have done this for you already.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing case, I love it!

Pros: Perfect size for all of the components I have inside. It's a little cramped, but hey it's a mini-ITX case. Awesome build quality. Love the black brushed metal exterior - really sleek. The front audio and USB 3.0 ports work great. The case is very quiet, practically whisper silent if you only use the on-board video. Highly recommended board!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned, be sure to get the following for your 2.5" SATA HDD:

Here are my build components:

- ASRock Z77E-ITX LGA 1155 Intel Z77
- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
- SAMSUNG 8X Slim Internal DVD Burner
- Crucial M4 CT256M4SSD2 2.5" 256GB SATA III
- Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (MSI)

5 out of 5 eggsBest Mini-ITX on the market

Pros: Great PSU with enough amps on the 12V rail to power a good GPU
USB 3.0
Great design
Great build quality
Great looks

Cons: Slim optical drive mounting sucks with the small screws but I don't know how they could have done better so I won't deduct. I've also seen much worse so wtfe

Other Thoughts: But one last year that only had USB 2.0 and bought another because I liked it so much. I love everything about this case and will be buying a few more for workstations. You get what you pay for.
