SilverStone Mini ITX Media Center / HTPC Case

Measuring only 1.4L in size, the Petit PT13 is one of the smallest computer chasses on the market. It easily accommodates a thin Mini-ITX motherboard and a 2.5in. HDD or SSD. For ease of installation in an otherwise cramped interior, the PT13's aluminum top cover doubles as a flip-up door to allow unrestricted access to the motherboard and other components. Complementing this impressively small case are the included vertical stand and the VESA mounting bracket, to help the PT13 fit into just about any environment.

  • Thin Mini-ITX compatible
  • Super small at 1.4L
  • Include vertical stand holder
  • VESA mounting interface
  • Easy installation with flip-up top cover

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent case if you actually know what you're doing.

Pros: Thin mITX compatibility, solid construction, good finish, good ventilation, VESA mount.

Cons: Hinge and thumbscrews were unbelievably tight upon arrival.

Other Thoughts: Do your research. many other reviewers didn't know what they were doing and ordered incompatible parts. TmITX boards only, and a short list of compatible HSF solutions. I used an AR04.

3 out of 5 eggsNeed Better Options

Pros: It is small and appears light weight and probably is OK.

Cons: No real Expansion Options. i.e. hard drive and optical drive.

Other Thoughts: I could see one about twice as thick or an external drive kit about the same size like an expansion kit Kind of like a component Stereo system.

4 out of 5 eggs1/8" too slim

Pros: Well made - Nice design and accessories for VESA mounting.

Cons: To slim for all but the one cooling fan listed by another customer.

Other Thoughts: I would not go over 35 watt CPU in this case - the fan will be working too hard for it to be anything but noisy with a 55-65 watt CPU. This leaves you with the Intel Core i3-4130T - fortunately it a fine CPU. (I build mine with a 2120T)

The case is ideal for all in one boards - note that you will not miss CPU power for media use if you add an mpg decoder board - however I think they usually are full length mini PCI express.

The included SATA power cable was to big and long so I cut one end of one I had on hand.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but needs a couple of improvements

Pros: Nice high-end finish, extremely small size

Cons: Extremely low profile: probably could have been designed with an 1/8-1/4" height. I found it did not accomodate the 29mm Rosewill fan--I had to find a purchase a 26mm height fan (Akasa AK-CC7122EP01 @ to be able to shut the case. The 3mm made all the difference.

As another reviewer complained, the provided SATA power cable has too many connectors and is very difficult to "pack" into the case. As it is now, I am worried that over time the m-board I am using will be damaged

Other Thoughts: Overall a very nice thin ITX case that could be better with a couple of tweaks

2 out of 5 eggsBuy BEFORE the cooler comes out

Pros: Best and first ultra thin-itx case even. quality material with fine finish, stylish and elegant looking

Cons: I own this case about 2 month and I found out there is no cooler fit in this case, EXCEPT the Silverstone SST-AR04. But it only shows on their website, and NO ONE is selling.

So, if you want to own this case, you better wait the cooler comes out before you buy it

Other Thoughts: Silverstone, HURRY UP!

4 out of 5 eggsAvoid wrong heatsink/fan

Pros: This case is awesome and much cheaper than any other Thin mini-itx case I have found. Highly recommended for a super thin HTPC or Desktop.

Cons: Be careful which fan you pick. The Silverstone NT07 1156 was called "low profile" and I didn't read the dimensions before I bought it. Pick something that is under 30mm in height, based on what the Silverstone page says for maximum size.

The power cable for the SATA drive that comes packaged with this is way too long and has connection for 4 drives. They should think about giving you a cable that is just long enough and only has one connection on each end.

Other Thoughts: Since the Silverstone fan and heatsink were still too big, I am going to try Rosewill RCX-Z775-LP or Titan DC-155A915Z/RPW

I was lucky enough to have a spare SATA power connector from a different case that was just the right size. I would have given a full 5 eggs if the sata power cable was shorter and they had a recommendation for a compatible CPU Heatsink/Fan.
