5 out of 5 eggsGreat for HTPC

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Brushed aluminum front panel complements AV components
USB ports on front/side
Plenty of ventilation
HDD bay hold four 2.5" drives

Cons: Internal USB connection cable is too long for most mini-itx motherboards. Creative routing is necessary.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these cases for HTPCs. I do not use a SFX power suppy for either, instead utilizing 19V notebook power bricks. The first one was built 6 months ago with a ASRock AM1H-ITX motherboard, which has a DC input jack, and a 25w AM1 5350 quad-core APU. It has 120gb SSD running Win7 with Media Center and a 1TB WD AV-25 recording drive.
The second build is more creative: the PSU is a HDPlex 160W mini PSU mounted to the ventilated side of the case. It also needs an external 19V power brick for DC input. The motherboard is an AsRock FM2A88X-itx with an A8-7600 APU. It runs Win 8.1 Pro with Media Center on a 240gb SSD and a 4TB 3.5" WD AV-GP recording drive mounted where the SFX power supply would have been. The Silverstone ML06B case accommodates this high efficiency/high performance HTPC build perfectly!

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Compact and sturdy. Enough room for 3 drives if creative with power supply choices.

Cons: Power and reset buttons do not work, they fall out of place when depressed. They came broken out of the box and use a sloppy amount of glue to hold try and them in place. I think this is a design defect and I will have to get creative to fix them.

Other Thoughts: Normally happy with Silverstone products but I'm not sure what they were thinking when they engineered the power and reset buttons.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Extremely beautiful, elegant. Plenty of room inside. Love the downward facing LEDs. Comes with a filter for the top 120mm fan and other niceties. Typical Silverstone quality. My third Silverstone case, definitely not my last. May buy only Silverstone from now on. Non-modular SFX PS fit perfectly, no cabling issues. Running the Noctua low-pro cooler, could easily fit a 120mm top fan, 3.5" disk, etc in the "option bay" on the top. Very sturdy. Two 80mm fan slots are a huge bonus and are most welcome.

Cons: Rubber feet are too tall (1/2" or more). No USB2.0 option. No ventilation for the HDD bays (Silverstone you should have drilled some vent holes in the bottom or on the side). Honestly I am nit-picking, this case in fantastic, most will probably use SSDs anyway.

Other Thoughts: Wish there was a USB2.0 option. No issues with power button (first day of ownership, but its a server so the power button will be seldom used). I actually may buy a second to use as for my primary desktop and try to fit a 120mm radiator/fan in it. Drill vent holes on the side for the HDDs, put the rubber feet on that side, and run it as a tiny slim tower beside my desk. More room inside than I thought I'd have. i7-2600K with Noctua low-pro cooler and plenty of room to spare, 32C under load with two SilenX 80mm yellow fans for exhaust. FSP Group SFX PS. Very quiet. Upgraded from an M350/PicoPSU, couldn't be happier.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Power Button

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Good low profile case.

Cons: Need to carefully buy components to fit. Power supply cables are a challenge. A flat cable option would work better in this case.

Second case I bought and after a little over a month of usage the power button no longer works.

2 out of 5 eggsButton issue

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Nice looking. Compact to fit everything just fine. Very good to sit in the living room. The layout is O.K. for its size. I installed one SSD and one 2.5" 250GB disk.

Cons: Quality Control issue. This is the second one. I bought my first one from other vendor and its power button was dead after 5 days. After talking to support of Silverstone and failed to fix it, I returned to the vendor that is out of stock for exchange. Then I bought the second one from Newegg. The button is dead from the beginning (using reset cable I can boot the system but it is designed to be hard to push). I am so disappointed and lost my faith to Silverstone. Decide to return it and might not try any Silverstone soon.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Good looking, unobtrusive, compact, great airflow and solid construction.
The blue LED power light shines DOWN instead of trying to blind you.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this as a HTPC with a ASRock AM1H-ITX motherboard. Plenty of room for cable management in my configuration. I'm using a 19V DC external power supply, so I can't comment on PSU and harness room.
At first I was up in the air about the USB3 ports being on the side, but it does keep the front looking sleek and clean.
The Silverstone box refers to this as an "entry level" HTPC case. Don't let that fool you. It's entry level priced, but that's it. I've owned more expensive cases that I wasn't nearly as happy with.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this case

This review is from: SILVERSTONE MILO Series ML06B Steel Body Mini-ITX Media Center/ HTPC Computer Case with Aluminum Front Panel

Pros: Small, about the size of a Satellite DVR receiver, pairs great with Silverstone ST45SF-G 450W SFX12V modular power supply, the only crowding problem I had was betwwen the power supply cables and the HDD cage. Installed AsRock H87M-ITX board into this and Hauppage 2250 TV Tuner and 8GB G.Skill ECO RAM. Its running as Windows 8.1 Pro Media Center PC in our living room.

Cons: Tight space between back of power supply and HDD cage.

Other Thoughts: Would buy this again for another media center build or a small desktop PC.
