3 out of 5 eggsCould have been, should have been, wasn't.

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: Price, final build outcome.

Cons: Build quality, lack of quality control.

Other Thoughts: I'm writing this review on the behalf of my significant other, this case was to be used in her first build. I supervised and helped when things got rough.

Now, if you're on a tight budget, it is a great case for the price. But here's my main issue with it: It was purchased for use in my girlfriends first build... THE ATX STANDOFF HOLES DO NOT LINE UP! The top two holes were of by a few millimeters. Now that is a huge letdown for me as it seemed like such a nice case for the price. Also seemed like it was a simple case for a first time builder like my girlfriend, absolutely not. She's a girl, and the fact that she couldn't get the motherboard to line up with the standoffs literally had her in tears from the frustration. So I gave it a go, and yes, the standoff holes were not really close at all. So I had to improvise to make it happen for her. Upon finally getting the motherboard to line up, I was then faced with the fact that the top left standoff hole was already STRIPPED! Before we ever even got a chance to put the standoff into it! In my opinion, this is unacceptable.

Secondly, it is very rattly. Makes a tinny noise with the cause having nothing to do with anything but a cheaply made case. The case feet have no rubber on them, so it slides everywhere easily... which is bad but we knew it before buying it, so no fault there. The side panels are rubbish. They do not line up with the top grooves properly, so it is a hassle to get them slid in while still locking in the top and bottom, which is required to prevent the case from having gaps and bulges.

Overall, just a terrible case to build in. But I will give it some credit, once it is built, it is a great case for the money. Still, I do not recommend this for novice builders.

4 out of 5 eggsNice but flawed

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: This is a good case for the money. It has features above what one would expect at this price point. Tooless bays and HDD trays are done well. Tasteful design and quiet (though I really don't know if the two big patches of foam are helping or not). Despite the issues cited bellow, I reccommend this case and would purchase again. Love the dust filters, all very nice.

Cons: The motherboard tray was not lined up with te rest of the chassis before the pop rivets were put in. This cause the rivets to push the tray and bow it out blocking the installation of the IO shield. I drilled out the two offending rivets, put the tray back in place, and put in some replacement rivets. I mod cases and tearing down a chassis entirely is something I used to. If I were a first-time builder this may have left a more negative impression with me. Further, the steel is very thin and flexible. This is most notable with removing and replacing side panels, plugging in the 24 pin PSU cable, and working in any way with the rear panel. Only one fan included, though there are five or so options available.

Other Thoughts: Botom line, I was probably the right guy to have received the likely rare but defective but fixable case. Silverstone's OEM provider created a mix of extra features and cut corners in such a way as to win over my recommendation in the end. Its is an attractive case for someone who is looking for an adult oriented vibe, just don't move it around or mess with it too much. I took off one star for the motherboard tray build quality mishap and the below standard back panel.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: Lots of room, tool-less design, great cable management spaces.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg shipped the box to me very quickly, but there was a huge gash in the top of the box that had me a bit worried. I was building a computer for my [impatient] nephew and he was not thrilled when we opened the box to find the case smashed in on the front face-plate and right side vent. He decided to live with the case broken rather than try the RMA process and worry about all of the shipping. It was still usable, just some broken plastic and bent metal.

5 out of 5 eggsTruly great

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: I grabbed this for a build hoping it would be quiet. It is. Fantastically so. The quality us nicer than you get with most cases at this price point although the drilling tolerances are a bit sloppy. It's fairly lightweight for a steel case and fits high-profile cards with a centimeter or two to spare.
It's easy to work in, effortlessly fits water cooling, and has plenty of space for cable management. There is a single red drive activity light on the front that cleanly separates the power and reset buttons, which themselves are part of the front cover, rather than floating.

Cons: The "magnetic dust guard" is some mesh with magnets that sits on top of the case and makes the fan ports look nicer but not much else. The psu mounts intake fan down, and though the case's feet are a good inch or so, I wouldn't sit it on a rug. The psu "air filter" is a plastic mesh of cheap quality I accident broke and abandoned. Really, though, I'm just picking nits.

Other Thoughts: A fantastic case for anyone who doesn't want a flashy rig. Absolutely perfect for most budget applications and not out of place containing a high-end rig. Good airflow.

4 out of 5 eggsBad Front Panel/Great Otherwise

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: This is the best case for it's size, Very well designed and very well laid out and now I can run my 2 EVGA GTX 275's in SLI as my other case was not deep enough. I love everything about this case except the front panel so please read cons.

Cons: Horrible Power and Reset Buttons. The cabling was pinched and I have to hold in the power button to get my computer to boot. The Buttons are beyond cheap and for such a great case they don't belong being designed like this. This really is a fantastic case otherwise and all the drive bays are tool-less.

Other Thoughts: I do highly recommend this case even with the cheap power and reset buttons, just check for damage to the cabling of the front switches before installing mother board (the face is press fit and pulls off/the cabling is to close to the middle retainer and may be damaged from the factory).
Mistakes happen but I only gave it 4 eggs because the of the CHEAP design of the Power and Reset Buttons and not for the factory defect.

5 out of 5 eggsA++

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: i've built 3 pc's with this case
this case is great for space saving/ and some sound dampening.

cable management,
HHD mounting trays,
motherboard tray with cpu cutout for Aftermarket
cooler installed,
usb 3.0 and SLEEVED audio cables for the front jacks,
sound damping foam on side panels
2 front 2 top 1 rear fan placements.
**** EXTERNALLY accessable intake filters.******

Cons: if i was to say.
5 HHD is small if you really have a storage array.
but for most users its fine
or you could say alternate ssd mounting places

Other Thoughts: if i had to list something is missing. i could say a bottom fan. but i don't care for those personally

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect "Business" style case

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: Price, features, quality, filters & # of 5 1/2" slots.

I bought this case to replace the case my pre-built HP Pavilion came in. It was given to me about 1 1/2 yrs ago after getting hit by lightning. I replaced the power supply and restored the OS to factory and it works just fine. I added an extra ODD and HDD, as well as a video card (All from Newegg, of course!). It is pretty much maxed out, now. It will handle the few games I play on it: Diablo II, Civilization (3, 4 & 5), and XCOM Enemy Unknown.
After all the upgrades, it was getting quite hot according to Speedfan, so I wanted more fans. The HP case was one of their micro towers and only had one 80mm fan in the rear. I also didn't want lights and a side window. I have nothing in it to show off. I added the 4 extra fans this case can support and it dropped my CPU temps by about 10 degrees centigrade. I am quite happy with this case at this point and will buy another one for my future build.

Cons: There was only one minor flaw in the case, and it wasn't worth deducting an egg for: one of the rivets holding the inside panel for the tool-free HDD mounts didn't hit the hole. I left it alone for a few weeks to make sure everything worked, in case I had to send it back. I didn't have to. I got a USB 3.0 card from a local store (the day I built it, so couldn't order from Newegg) to connect the front USB ports, and they work just fine. Once I found out it was all going to be fine, I cut out the rivet and used a screw to fix the case.

Other Thoughts: Since I only have 4 SATA connectors on my mobo, and am using all of them for 2 DVD burners and 2 HDD, I didn't need the bottom 3 HDD slots so the rivet was not an issue. I fixed it just so I could put the mounts back in the case for storage.

Overall, this is a fantastic case for the price if you are looking for a case that doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary 'extras'.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: For a relatively cheap case this was amazing to work with.
Pros:
psu dust filter
magnetic(!!!) top vent dust filters
nice feeling cables (not cheap feeling with all kind of colors)
Hard drive trays are effective, simple, nothing gimmicky
plenty of room for cable management

Cons: not exactly a con, but the pci-e covers are rather flimsy yet hard to take off, remember to do an estimate of which you need so you won't need to take the covers off while your motherboard is in, they were quite elastic and didn't want to come off, but since this is usually a one time thing (most people won't need to add too many slots after initial build), no star taken off

Other Thoughts: another reviewer has stated that other than the side panels, the whole case felt flimsy in general. other than the pci-e cards cover i mentioned above, nothing felt flimsy to me, this was a great case to work with and for the price this was very much worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

This review is from: SilverStone Precision Series PS10B Black High-strength plastic front panel, steel body ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with Foam Padded Side Panel - Retail

Pros: Great case to work with. Both sides come off to make easy work. Painted inside and no sharp edges! Nicely laid out, great cable management and love the dust filters for easy cleaning. Also like the fact that it has a power and reset switch with USB 3.0 on front of case.

Cons: None other than box had a hole in it from shipping but product was fine inside.
