SILVERSTONE Grandia Series GD10B Computer Case

The Grandia GD10, along with GD09, is a culmination of SilverStone's decade-long experience in HTPC case design and manufacturing, crafted into a product that every PC enthusiast can enjoy. The incredible efficiency in which it utilizes all available space results in a case that is close in size externally to the Micro-ATX-based GD04 and GD05, yet capable of fitting the most important, full-size standard components - including wider ATX motherboards (SSI-CEB) such as ROG or other gaming-centric models.

All drive cages have been designed similarly to those from the popular ML03 case to provide maximum flexibility in drive configuration without the need for additional adapters. For cooling, all positive pressure and smooth airflow designs were retained from previous Grandia models while improvements were made to filter access for even easier maintenance. With the addition of a lockable front door, the GD10 offers an attractively-sized case that's user-friendly for those interested in building a system with extra security and applications that exceed typical PC or HTPC environments.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC case

Pros: - Turned my 2009 ATX gaming PC into my new HTPC
- Can fit a Hyper TX3 cpu cooler as long as you don't install a DVD/BR drive.

Cons: - Can't fit a CM Hyper TX3 with a DVD drive installed. Had to switch to an AMD Stock cooler

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsVery glad I chose this case

Pros: easily fits all my components, with room for SLI if I choose. I had to install an aftermarket cpu heatsink, and the silverstone NT01-PRO fit perfectly with 2 80mm fans attached to it, and also had room for 2 more 80mm fans to help exhaust hot air.

Cons: ONLY thing I wish I realized was the width of my tv stand only left about a half inch on each side of the case for intake fans to bring in air.

3 out of 5 eggswell made case

Pros: This is a sturdy well built case with some useful features 3 nice quiet fans plus 2 rear 80mm fan options

Cons: I have worked with 5 HTPC cases from other companies , how ever, this one has been the worst case I have ever used.
First if you plan to use an aftermarket cooler with a decent 4 core cpu, look elsewhere, this case will only allow stock cooling! unless you don't mind NOT using the 5.25" drive bay. As for mounting HDD or SSD this is also poorly designed with vert. mounting for HDD under optical drive cage which also gets in the way of ram access .
There is much wasted space that have could have been used for proper hardware mounting. Once more I have worked with many SMALLER cases that have made better use in limited areas
I will be transferring the components to an older HTPC case that still serves me well.

Other Thoughts: While this quality enclosure is simple non PC like on the exterior lending well for living room purposes and blending in well with other components in av systems, that is about all good I could see of it.
If Silverstone added a mere half inch depth, then this would have been a worthwhile case .

5 out of 5 eggsLooks good

Pros: Looks good among my other sound/video equipment. Plenty of room to work in. Fans are quiet.

Cons: Even if not locked, it's not so easy to open the front: when I read that it had a magnetic catch, I assumed that it was one of those push-to-close, push-again-to-open catches, but it isn't: I either have to use the key as a handle or get a finger nail between the edge of the cover and the body of the case.

The LEDs are a little too bright

Other Thoughts: I wonder why they chose to have the mounted-vertically-on-edge drive oriented so that the electronics are facing inward rather than the cover.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice Case. Seems well built. 3 nice fans that are very quiet. The front door seems solid and has a magnetic catch in the front to hold it closed. Only took about 30 min to set up. Micro ATX fits well.

Cons: Maybe not a con but I wish it had more drive space. I have a blue-ray drive and one 3.5 hard drive and that fills it up even though there is more space in the drive area.

5 out of 5 eggscase

Pros: Very well built case. The quality is very high and much better than the normal gamer case. The disk mounting area under the optical drive has an almost infinite number of possibilities to mount a 3.5 or dual 2.5 disks. An ATX MB with 650W PSU, with a large Zalman CNPS9500 heatsink fit but only just. Also using 2x4G of ram with head sinks attached and a 10.6x4.5" video card.

Cons: The front door sticks a little. But expect that from a new case. No eggs removed.

Other Thoughts: Final thoughts are I am satisfied with this case and would recommend it to others.

4 out of 5 eggsNice case but..

Pros: Awesome case, full length graphic card support, ATX, and still decent size

Cons: Ordered this with the Noctua 92MM cooler, and don't even think of getting a DVD drive in there w/a tower cooler.. Also had to grind (major) down the cd drive cage to even fit the cooler.. eliminating one of the HDD bays. Other than this, I love the case.. Oh, make sure you've got a blower videocard, this case doesn't have good airflow around that area.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have mine for over a year and fans are still quite as ever. At times I forget that it's on.

Cons: I wish the screws were of better quality.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I got this for my new Steam Machine build so I can play games and have a smaller sized PC with big parts and wow did this get the job done :)

* The case can fit in my TV cabinet perfectly
* This case can fit huge graphics cards and my 270X is 12 inches
* Fits ATX motherboards and ITX (I have a MincoATX)
* Fits pretty big CPU coolers
* Has a wonderful and sleek look
* You can't see inside of it so no one will see your cables or components and only the PC
* Has a lock mechanism so others can't turn on your computer and such
* GPU Vent for great GPU cooling (Idle at 27-29C and gaming 40-50C)
* So much room to fit HDDs and other components
* Door is metal and the whole build is strong

Cons: * My only con and this is not much of one since you can't see inside of it, but the cable management is hard to do and maybe impossible for people like me with non-modular PSUs. if you have a modular to full modular you should be 100% fine and ready to go. But again it doesnt matter since you can't see the inside and the temps are amazing :)

Other Thoughts: If you get this for gaming, HTPC media use, or anything I say GET THIS NOW. It is the coolest case I have purchased in a long time and the build quality is amazing :)
