Will this support a mini-ITX board?

It will support up to an e atx board. So the holes are there for all smaller boards as each sequential increase in size will use the smaller boards holes plus aditional holes to support the larger board.

Question 2

Can someone explain what the additional little bracket pieces are for?   I can see where you might clip them in to the fan mount bar, but still no clue why..

Are they for cable management, or holding cards in place?

Well, that makes me feel better.  I am really thinking they are for holding cards in place... but in a horizontal layout for the motherboard, there isn't really much need for something like that, not like they are sagging with gravity.

Not too familiar with rack hardware, figured maybe it was something more common to that industry that I just wasn't aware of.

What HDD cage did you use to convert the 3x5.25 to 5x3.5? I do not see one listed on the iStarUSA site. Almost all other are expensive hotswappable.

I am currently using four of the Startech SATSASBAY425 5.25 to 4x2.5 bays.

I am currently running an optical drive, a 3.5 hot swap bay, and 16 10k 2.5" sas drives in the four above mentioned drive bays.

This configuration has worked well for me.

Question 4

Does this case support 120mm fans? The pictures look like it only takes the old 80mm noise makers.

Not directly: the two rear cutouts are 60mm; and there are internal mounts for 3 80mm.

Not a particularly good choice if you are running something hot. I purchased for a NAS build; and used two Icy Dock MB074SP-B drive cages(each with 120mm fan) in the front 5.25in bays; which keeps the drives cool and, along with the PSU fan, is enough for a low power NAS board.

The 6 front 5.25in bays give you plenty of flexibility(assuming you don't actually need 6 optical drives or something); but unless you add the fans there the internal options are pretty anemic.

I'm happy with it as a NAS box, good build quality for the price, no major issues; but I wouldn't recommend it for something thermally demanding; dual socket motherboard/bunch of GPUs/etc.

Hi,
I didn't realize I had bought the OEM version of this product, and it did not come with a hard drive cage, or a brace to hold the power supply or any fans.

This is for a simple home server setup, can you recommend the necessary accessories?

The power supply does not need any bracket, just the 4 screws in the back, if I recall correctly.

Assuming you have the two 5.25" drive holders, you could buy a bracket to convert from a 5.25 drive to a 3.5 drive.  If you don't have the 5.25 drive holders, I don't know what you will do.

What are the dimensions of the case?  I have a 19x19 server rack and need to know if it will fit..  I assume the 21.7" includes the handles?

What's the largest cpu cooler that will fit in this case with a standard ATX motherboard?

There is an internal 1 1/2" wide bar that is used to mount fans. The back of this bar is 7 1/2" from the back edge of the M/B. Clearance under this bar is 5 1/4" to the top of the M/B's PCB. The bar can be easily removed. If removed, there is a 12" x 13" x 6 1/2" empty volume for M/B and components, assuming that the drives are no more than 5 3/4" deep. The depth of the drive cages is 5 3/4". With an ATX M/B, drives can be up to 8 3/4" deep.
