5 out of 5 eggsMGE Black Dragon

Pros: Great design, ease of assembly if you are building your first computer. The modular design also helps with system upgrades. The sturdy handle on the top is a most welcome design for times when you need to move this. The top front panel has jacks for headphones, a mic, usb and a 1394 port. This is a very well designed case and I am proud to have one.

Cons: The only cons I have is how it may have been assembled at the manufacturing plant. I received mine with a door hinge loose. All it took was for me to disassemble the door plate and tighten the tiny hinge screw. Also there was a small wire in the front of the frame (MB face up) that was getting pinched by the door panel. This was corrected by simply securing the wire out of the way.

Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned, the lock down brackets for the tool free option were a mixed blessing. The lockdown for the card slots was firm, but it would easily unlock. As for the locks for the drives, they were also firm and they still hold securely. Aside from all of the above, it's unfortunate that this case is discontinued. As such I am keeping mine as long as technology is compatible with it. I suggest that if anyone is interested in getting one, check E-bay. This case is well worth the time it takes to get it if you can.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks great the 5th time

Pros: Excellent looking case

Cons: Only looks great after having it delivered the 5th time. 1st time door was bent and area where hinges attach was splintered. 2-4 time bad splintering. 5th time carrier had to pay for the case and they got it there with minimal splintering.

Other Thoughts: NEWEGG.COM is always great but I am very disappointed in XG the durability of this case. What good is a great looking case if its broke apon delivery. I don't blame this all on the carrier, a large ppart is the construction.
Otherwise great case just dont touch it, it might shatter.

1 out of 5 eggsthis case is all looks not quality

Pros: Well only good thing i can say about this case is that it LOOKS cool.

Cons: off the bat i open the box, and the front door is bent by about 1 inch. easily bent back but then i notice the whole case is made of a very soft and weak aluminum, which all have sharp jagged edges and burrs.

Other Thoughts: the reset button is also not secured well and was pushed into an un-reachable area. the case is also lightweight due to the soft aluminum.

5 out of 5 eggsREALLY FREAT

Pros: I thought this case is very durable, well designed and easy to manage. I really liked the mo-bo tray being removable, easy acess. I also liked the fact that the power supply pannel is removable too, so instead of wriggling it into the case you can just undo the pannel and slide it out.

Cons: What i didn't like was the clip system. I don't know about anyone else here, but mine were really loose.

Other Thoughts: I found this case to be durable by testing it on accident. I was pulling out left onto a road in my town. what I didnt realize is I didn't close the tailgate. So my computer went flying out into the road and made a horrible crash. So i pulled over and got it out of the road, mind you there was on comming traffic. I hooked it up that night and it worked fine. All I have is a few plastic peices missing and its a little bent up but otherwise fine. It protected my guts, and thats what counts right?

4 out of 5 eggsNice case

Pros: Plenty of room, nice looking case, pretty lights, removable MB tray, decent PS included, aluminum material

Cons: As metnioned in previous reviews, the tool less aspect needs some work. I didn't trust just sticking my x1900xtx into the back without some screws to hold it in place. I also did not feel comfortable with the hard drive in the cage without some screws. I added some screws to these places and all is fine. The LCD is suppoised to control fan speed, but I do not see any information on how to control it, only how to monitor it.

Other Thoughts: When the case arrived, one of the door hinges was slightly bent but straightened right out. There were no other problems out of the box and that's a pretty big deal because it is shipped US Mail overseas to Germany via the Air Force.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks great! I used this case to build a new computer for my son. Cant beat the looks. The quality of the case is above average as well.

Cons: I had to replace the power supply. The 12v amps did not meet the recommended minimum for the 7900 GT video card I put in it.I also had to remove the tool less PCI locking device.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am very pleased with this case. Great buy and great service from newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsBright review for this Black Dragon

Pros: Obviously, no one can rave enough about the removable motherboard tray. No one seems to mention the fact that the power supply is also removable from the rear, a major plus for someone such as myself using a modular PSU. The temperature probe is pretty accurate within a few degrees. The grating over the PCI slots is excellent for installing a fan for air flow directly to the video cards (SLI 7900 GTX). The roominess in the case allows for continuous modding. Despite the fact that the case only has room for 80mm fans, the airflow is quite adequate. I, myself, am not using the included PSU, at least not in this tower (not enough juice for the dual 7900s), but I did pass it on to a friend using a single gpu high end system and it runs like a champ. Last, but certainly not least, the lighting, the beautiful beautiful lighting. The combination of the huge dragon symbol and name on the door, the LCD, and the backlit chrome grating, all make for a fabulous display.

Cons: As was expected from prior reviews, the case arrived with several broken pieces, however they turned out to be inconsequential (i.e.: the plastic thumbholes for the side panels, the plastic "cable management?" piece that attaches to the back ((the wierd X shaped thing)), the hinges for the front lighted panel were bent with the plastic mounting cracked ((I simply bent them back in place and have had no further problems)), and one of the two support rivets for the panel of the motherboard tray was missing altogether). There is a support bracket directly in front of the power supply that is entirely in the way of all cables coming from your PSU. However, simply removing this and mounting your uppermost DVD drive with screws instead of the tool-less solution will provide all the needed structural support. The tool-less sollution itself is rather weak. The pegs that stand in for screws are either too small and allow for quite a bit of movement or they were too big and would not fit.

Other Thoughts: At the time that I bought it, the price was a bit high, but this IS electronics and prices drop like rocks. Despite the cons I still gave this case a 5 for the ease of use, the display, and the overall quality of the case itself.

As a side note, there was mention of possible static discharge through the aluminum door in a previous review, this had worried me and I checked it out. I tried to zap the door a couple times but I could not pick up a reading with my multimeter on the other end anywhere. The reason for this is the door hinges are mounted to the plastic of the front of the case. This insulates the hinges to where they can carry the current for the door lighting and not worry about a short. A+ on design.

4 out of 5 eggsWell satisfied

Pros: This case looks GREAT! As someone else stated, I am a huge fantasy fan, and the dragon is what appealed to me most. I've gotten ooh's and aah's everywhere I've taken it; and I have taken it many places thanks to it's light weight and the handle. The LCD seems to work, but I haven't tested it's output.

Cons: The power supply was DOA. This was not of much concern to me as I had intended to replace it, but it would be nice to have a back-up. It's made from very soft alluminum, and bends easily. The door hinges were slightly bent, but gentle pressure moved them back into place perfectly. The tooless card holder is completely useless. Would have been better to include a handfull of those large-headed screws that you can loosen with your fingers. The tooless mounts for the drives are not too tight and I opted to use screws for those as well.

Other Thoughts: I had no cracks or problems getting the front sticker off as was reported by others. If the looks of the case is what attracts you, then you will not be disappointed. If the tooless design and 500W PSU are important, I would say keep looking.
