5 out of 5 eggsGreat server case

Pros: Lots of drive bays, good mounting positions for case fans, rack mountable, accommodates massive 1000 watt power supply, various vibration reducing hardware

Cons: Although this *will* fit in a standard depth rack it's very tight.

Other Thoughts: This houses our high end DVR system and does a great job with it. The biggest complaint is that it's very tight in our TrippLite SRW18US rack. I had to mount it at the very front and remove the handles to get the door to close. Cables in the back do fit but if not careful you could easily block the vent fans with cables.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -fans are quite
-solid case, not flimsy at all
-lots of screws/fasteners

Cons: -does not include rails
-does not include any documentation, even a priintout with directions to a website/pdf would be nice
-only one case fan on the back, two slots

Other Thoughts: good case for custom servers, recommended purchase. i have three in operation.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent rack case

Pros: Lots of room, decent air flow, solid

Cons: Big and Bulky, bu you knew that if your buying a 4U rack case. Fans it comes with are Molex connector.

Other Thoughts: For a Budget rack case, can't beat it. Easily holds my full ATX board with Opteron 12 core and 5 HDD's.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderfull!

Pros: Solid
Simple
Musician's dream. Rack it up with the rest of the gear.

Cons: Not so sure about the front fan
Zero documentation; ordinary for a case.

Other Thoughts: To qualify this review, I am using this case to rack mount a PC in a amp/mixer rack used for music performances. The PC works directly with the digital mixer for control and recording.

A joy to to build. All mounts lined up perfectly. Love the internal racks for mounting drives, HDD and DVD. No contortionist activities to get the screws in place. The beast is solid! Very roadworthy. Appearance is utilitarian. Perfect to impress the nerd fan who just has to snoop at the equipment rack. The tin bezel at the back of the MB for I/O connections didn't fit, but that's half the cases out there, tower or rack. The front fan has yet to come on but I can find no info on the MB to indicate if it is temp controlled or not. In the instance of this build it is not an issue. The PC is running very cool without the front fan. For cost point this case fits the bill perfectly.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent product, TERRIBLE/NON-EXISTENT customer service

Pros: Solid, roomy, holds a BUNCH of drives, locking mechanism works as a latch even without the key

Cons: Not all parts were included (rackmount ears were missing) and ABYSMAL customer support means you can't get them after the fact! No response whatsoever to my last 3 emails!

Other Thoughts: No way I'll buy another Ark Tech case!

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems yet

Pros: Fits what it needs to. Accepted an old Dell P4 mobo with ease. Sturdy construction, solid and stable. Haven't noticed any burrs, although a few edges were rather sharp.

Cons: Screws are soft. The 5.25 drive bay is rather strange, to remove the empty drive cages, you must remove the modular bay and unscrew (These are very soft), which it isnt a clean fit to pull out, especially with the PSU in there already. The case must be pushed in order to get the tabs to clear the edges.

Other Thoughts: I probably wouldnt recommend this for professional use, but on the home side its not a bad deal as long as you dont intend on modifying it often. I'm using this in a relay rack with my watchguard xtm 550 as a surveillance camera server. Its a cheap setup but once its in production it will never be touched.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Nice Basic Server Case. Will hold 7 hard drive.

Cons: None. Description of the product was accurate so I knew exactly what I was getting.

Other Thoughts: I have not bought any cases of this brand in the past, but I would not hesitate to buy this brand in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsAdequate

Pros: It's not elegant, but it works. Sturdy, functional, versatile, and cheap. Not unattractive. Easy to work with, mostly. Easy to modify if desired.

Cons: Metal burrs requried filing (and vacuuming!) before the I/O shield would fit properly. Oddly truncated motherboard platform leaves no support for one corner of the board -- be very careful to not flex the board there when installing memory or other components.

Other Thoughts: Cramped, due to short depth. Can hold 7 drives, but only 4 will get airflow. A large CPU cooler can be a challenge: a Hyper N520 does fit, but hard drive cables can easily interfere with the intake fan if you're not very careful. I also had to remove the case stiffener rail to clear the cooler, but this case is small enough that it isn't really needed for structural integrity.

3 out of 5 eggsVertical Tower

Pros: Lots of space, made to be placed vertically. Heavy duty. Has carrying handles.

Cons: This beast is heavy duty. Taking that into consideration it's a mystery how this case could have been damaged so severely during shipping that the front door wouldn't swing open because it had been dropped on the corner. It has half inch thick metal handles that are very durable yet one was bent and had paint chipped from the poor shipping companies that handled it. (OnTrac) or whoever shipped it to NewEgg.

Other Thoughts: I built my computer but it won't turn on and I'm not sure if the power switch was damaged during shipping or because this is only my 2nd build I messed up hooking the power supply to the MB. MB has power when pressing the PSU power button but nothing happens when pressing the front case power button even after double checking the connections going to the case.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality in the details

Pros: Solid build, good spacing, great power switch

Cons: Loud fans, drive cage broken on build, terrible customer service

Other Thoughts: My drive cage (the 5.25") is badly constructed. Cheap, and 1/2 the screws are stripped. I called and was told that "wesley" was on vacation and to call back but he'd charge me for a swap - even though the case was 1 day old at that point.

I emailed Wesley this week (about 8 days later) no response.

I got Wesley on the phone and he said he was busy and would call me in an hour.

Very fly-by-night company with very poor customer service. Will pay more money for a decent case and not a lack of attention to details, and random people named "Wesley" who charge for warranty work and ignore calls for help.
