4 out of 5 eggsgood case

Pros: easy access to all of the parts to install all of the internals.

Cons: Cheaply manufactured, but i knew that when i ordered it. It is hard having a champagne appetite on a beer budget!

Other Thoughts: gentle to build, runs well, fans keep it cool. no real problems, just cheap metal. I would order it again, as i did not have supermicro or sans digital expectations. it was 100.00 bucks......get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsgood with the bad

Pros: it has cool fan system and it has filters on the front air intakes
it has locking doors,, dosn't sound like much until you have someone wanting to push buttons to see what they do.
and I do like the extra space VS. a 19x14 or someing more shallow makeing you have to install the motherboard "under" the drives..

Cons: well heres the bad.
Keep the bandades close at hand. every 3rd edge is razer sharp and to get hard drives installed you have to grab some sharp metal and PULL...

the face is alittle unapealing for a system makers eye.

to gain access to the sytem inside you must undo 4 screws,, I know big deal.. BUT the are small and on each corner of the top panel, ON THE SIDES not easy access.. easy if you never put it in a rack mount..

Other Thoughts: cool product for the price since the price would barely get you a descent home pc chassis let alone come with a power supply.. and no I don't trust any good equipment to a PSU that comes with such a cheap case,, I just keep it around as a desperate and temp. spare

2 out of 5 eggsPoorly excecuted

Pros: "free" power supply... good airflow quiet if fans are rplaced and panel closed.

Cons: poorly made:
fans especially the 120mm (very whirry sounding)
and poor fan power connectors.
annoying to get at cd rom bays or any other swap maintanance

Other Thoughts: NO MANUAL!!
all these unique looking slider pieces and no sheet to tell you what they do!

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate - You'll question your sanity if you purchase this!

Pros: None at this point. This is a follow up to my last review on this case.

Warning: Your sanity will be severely put to the test if you purchase this case!!

Cons: The power supply died within 4 hours of use. It was intermittently shutting off. When I would power it back up it would usually turn off within 5 minutes again. Two of the included fans started making noise.

Other Thoughts: New Antec 550 Watt power supply - $80. New fans - $50. Total cost of ownership so far for this case - $220. You would be better off to buy a really good case to start with. The fans included with this case are cheap sleeve bearing. Two of them started to hum soon after powering up. I replaced all three fans with double ball bearing type, expensive, but guaranteed to last a long time. I replaced the power supply with an Antec 550 Watt.

What gets me is I KNOW BETTER than to buy a case of this type for so cheap. I guess I was just hoping it would be better. You always do get what you pay for when it comes to computer components and peripherals.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't tear this case apart! You'll be sorry!

Pros: Budget price, plenty of room inside, pretty good power supply at 480 Watts (although it's a generic that shouldn't be trusted for critical server use, home theater use should be fine).

Cons: Where do I begin? The quality assurance dept did not do their job! I noticed that some of the screws behind the front panel were loose. In order to tighten them I had to take the entire front of the case apart. BIG MISTAKE. Many, if not all, of the screw holes DO NOT line up on this case. So instead of correcting the problem the assemblers simply dug the screws in at angles, stripping them out. When I took the case apart there was no way I could get the screw holes to line up. Even if I could, the screws I pulled out were destroyed. Most screws on this case were either loose, bored in at an angle, or overtightened stripping them out. Very, very bad quality and workmanship overall.

Other Thoughts: I had to completely rebuild the case. I purchased machine screws, nuts and lock washers, got my handy drill out and drilled out all the holes so they would line up. I drilled and tapped out all screws holes that were overtightened at the factory as well. This was a 3 to 4 hour step I did not anticipate. Also, the drive cages are flimsy bent metal that is VERY SHARP. This is a very cheap case that I would suggest YOU AVOID. If you are not into modding a case or have no experience with cases then pass this one by. The only reason I didn't return it was because I need the case now for a project, otherwise this thing would have been heading back to Newegg. ** On a bright note .. Newegg's shipping was fast as usual. Thanks! **

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Buy

Pros: cheap, roomy, quiet (relatively) fans (2x80 and 1x120), locking mechanism can close and open without key (if unlocked).

Cons: cut and exposed front cable connectors, striped screws, small vibration

Other Thoughts: My first review didn't seem to make it to print. So I kept this short. I thought is was important to discuss the striped holes and smashed cables. This is not NewEggs fault since the case is build like a tank so the problems must have occured at the factory. NewEgg shipped double boxed so exterior was fine.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap Buy

Pros: Comes with 480W Power Supply, 2x80 Fans, 1x120 Fan, Locking front, rack mount handles. Reasonably Quiet. Roomy. Low Cost. Can remove key and still close and open locking mechanism without key. Dust filters

Cons: One front connector has its wires smooched and left copper exposed - fixed with electrical tape. MB mounting holes slightly off near CPU - still fit, just tight. Some scew holes holding HD mounting cage and External 5.25" cage were striped. Never seen so many screws holding a case together. Cages have SOME rubber cushion but still vibrate slightly when DVD spins.

Other Thoughts: If the power supply and fans hold out, this is a good buy! Very cheap for what it has. If you need a serious case I would look elsewhere, but if you want a cheap rack mount and willing to risk the power supply, this is it.

2 out of 5 eggsSturdy case, questionable build quality

Pros: The case is built like a tank. Very good cross bracing, secure locking front panels, good modular assembly to install large components.

Cons: Like another reviewer mentioned some of the screw holes are misaligned for the motherboard mounting. With me ATX-sized motherboard the top right screwhole is about 1-2mm off. The others were almost not going to fit and it took some careful placement to get it all secure.

Power supply worked for about 2 hours before randomly turning on and off. I pulled the plug after it kept turning on for 5 seconds only to quickly turn off again. Core 2 Duo motherboard with three hard drives and an SSD drawing about 100 watts from the wall as indicated by my Kill-a-Watt.

Other areas of concern were one or two screw holes stripped in the case and one of the center 80mm fans had the wire entirely torn off. I guess you get what you pay for, at least shipping was free.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Case

Pros: Comes with 120mm fan at front of case and 2 x 80mm fans on a bar that hangs across the center of the case. There's room for 5 x 3½in drives internally and 3 x 5¼in external. There are filters in the 2 doors that filter incoming air.

The PSU seems OK, it's an ATX-480W P4-12V that puts out 24A at 12V, 22/24A on 5V, and 14A at 3.3V but it seems to be running my MSI 785GM-E65 mobo with 4 x 2Gig Geil RAM, 4 x 320Gig HDD, and an Athlon II x4 620 Propus CPU overclocked by 15% with no problems.

The whole system is pleasantly quiet.

Cons: The mobo mounting post nearest the front right of the case is in the wrong place by about 5mm making it unusable; I put a nylon support under it; no biggie.

Other Thoughts: It's a nice looking (not cheap) sturdy case and if you have low power consumption components, it's a steal for such a nice case with a power supply.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Case, Good Value

Pros: Sturdy construction, extremely roomy, good airflow with very quiet fans. Numerous drive bays and hard drive mounting locations. The front panel doors give the case a very clean look.

Cons: One of the holes for the motherboard standoffs was slightly mis-aligned. I was unable to secure a screw in this location. It was at one corner of the board though, so there were no issues with the standoff hitting anything on the backside of the MB.

Other Thoughts: There is some dis-assembly required to mount the hard drives and optical drives. The MB standoff holes are not labeled for the different MB board configurations. I did not receive a manual for the case, but there may be one online. It's a great case, but may not be the right choice for a beginner.
