HTPC 6000

The HTPC 6000 series was designed for one purpose: allowing users to build their dream HTPC system in a truly CE-looking chassis with all standard components. At first glance, the daring appearance of its exterior design looks and matches your other AV devices. On the other hand, the interior design of the HTPC 6000 is able to accommodate all standard HTPC components; and more importantly, it supports up to six hard drives to meet extended data storage needs. The HTPC 6000 series is one of the best-selling HTPC chassis in North America.

Combining silence, style, easy media access, and an affordable price, the HTPC 6000 series is a state-of-the-art media center. If that wasn't enough, the HTPC 6000 includes all the options for a 20 x 2 LCD Media Center Display. Combine that with our new HTPCKB-100 wireless Keyboard and IR Universal TV Remote set, and the complete build will no doubt provide the ultimate digital home solution.

  • Excellent air flow and quiet fans keep the noise and heat low
  • Presently maintains the compact size of previous chassis. Especially the depth (no need to dig a hole in the back of your rack!). 17in. wide is the standard AV box size, but it is an amazing thing to support all standard PC components in a 6.3in. (H) x 15.4in. (D) chassis
  • Easy Installation. Move the PSU back to the normal position. Intelligently designed architecture simplifies your installation - it's easy as 1-2-3.
Fully-Functional Front Media Input Module

  • High Definition Audio Ports: Mic and Earphone (also AC 97 compliance)
  • All-in-One USB 2.0 Card Reader: Supports all high capacity and speed memory card (SDHC 2.0 compliance)

Offering an Affordable, Stylish AV Case
Again, we achieve the best balance in size, functions, cost and simple design. It looks like an AV device, definitely not a PC - not even close.

3 out of 5 eggsA fair priced solution to HTPC

Pros: Not a bad case for a HTPC build, Fits well in my entertainment centre , Full size ATX micro ATX format solid build, pleasing to the eye

Cons: Before you start your build ... make sure you have a good supply of band aids. Inside panels extremely sharp. Removable dvd hdd sub frame twisted. You can not use a fan / heat sink assay any larger than 92mm or it will foul on the ATX power supply. I have a 1/2" gap between the heat sink and the bottom fan of the PS. I found the rosewill 92 mm unit a good fit on a micro ATX socket 775

Other Thoughts: Comes with 2 x 80mm rear fans and 1 x 120mm side fan but theres an option / mounting point to fit another 120 mm fan at your expense should you wish ( i thought that was a bit cheap ) charge another couple of bucks and stick another fan in the box, But for what you pay its worth it

5 out of 5 eggsOver 1 Year, Still Great!

Pros: Durable Construction

Cons: HDD Light port blocked by paint

Other Thoughts: This system has worked well, the power button can be easily activated with my foot so it's easy to turn on if you are by the TV. The case has great airflow when I am using it as a HTPC or gaming on it.

After 1 year, I am very pleased with this product.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: It looks beautiful, it fits any and all components perfectly, it's got a ton of ventilation options, and if you're looking to fit PC components into a home theater environment, you can't do much better.

Cons: Not many, really. The front panel only has the one USB connection that's NOT USB3. Basically, it has a USB3 and a USB2 connection on front, and if you don't have one of those 20-pin USB3 headers on the board you use, you're out of luck without an adapter.

Other Thoughts: The less-than-popular USB3 connector seems...out of place. But beyond that, it's amazing.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: As advertised, great case decent amount of room inside to hold all your gear, pay attention to CPU cooler size and upgrade the rear 80mm case fans so you don't have to deal with the molex connectors.

Cons: cable management is a pain when using all the hard drive bays. and the aluminum door is a bit jankie.

Other Thoughts: this case appears to have been used prior to me receiving it, some of the screens on the drive bay are stripped and the back of the cover was bent and scratched. that is why it only get 2 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsVery roomy.

Pros: The pros for me are that this thing has tons of room for more drives. It looks almost exactly like my Sony surround sound receiver, so it fits right into our entertainment center.

Cons: There aren't really any cons for me except that my case arrived with a decent sized scratch along the power knob. It's not really noticeable if you squint your eyes, so it's not a huge deal, but I was not expecting that. That's why I gave it 4 eggs intead of the five I think this could easily get.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC case

Pros: ATX motherboard and power supply (main reason for purchase). Clean appearance looks like AV equipment, not computer. Rock solid with room to grow. Space for six HDD's. 1 USB 3 port. Well ventilated, 3 fans are quiet and move a lot of air. NO SHARP EDGES. More screws than could ever be used.

Cons: Very deep at 16.5”, add 2-3” for cables at the back. Power “light” is a display that says “Welcome to AV Center”. HDD led is invisible. Mounting Blu-Ray drive not easy. Break away slot covers cannot be reinstalled.

Other Thoughts: I waited a year to buy a HTPC case, and then waited five months to review this case. I needed a case that would take an ATX MB & PS from a retired gaming computer. This case fit my primary needs so well that the cons don't really matter. This is why I gave it 5 stars.

The case is large, and the depth requirements of 18 or 19 inches meant hacking a hole in the back of my AV stand. The 6 HDD slots allowed me to combine a backup server and tv frontend/backend into one device. I am running three HDD's and have room for expansion. If you can use a uATX MB, you might want to consider one of the many smaller and attractive cases available.

The power light looks okay but made me a little uncomfortable so I left it disconnected. My HTPC is not an “AV Center”. The wording is a little weird and seems like poorly translated Chinese. This is meant to be replaced with display option from nMEDIAPC that is expensive for what you get and probably should have been included with the case in the first place.

The HDD led is red and located on the front below the power button. nMEDIAPC's website says something about the led is painted black to reduce annoying blinking. I am not sure this can be reversed. No light from the led can be seen on the front of the case.

Getting the Blu-Ray drive set up so the eject button worked and the tray pushed the door open can be tricky. I had to remove the tray cover from the drive, slide drive forward and back while pressing eject button. Yes the cover was off with the power on(!)

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good HTPC Case

Pros: Very roomy, heavy
Looks really nice, no one notice there is a computer

easy to work with and can fit big cards with ease

Cons: I do not like the bluray tray, took me a while to adjust my driver with the door

No front panel options, very limited. Which I was already aware of

3 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: Has a good amount of space. Able to fit a full size ATX motherboard, Nvidia 770 graphics card, an SSD plus a 2TB 3.5 Hard drive with no problems. The only space issue I ran into was the after-market Coolmaster CPU cooler was too tall (my fault for not checking ahead of time).

Cons: Side case fans have to be slid into place, I had one fan that was too wide to slide into the mounting bracket for the fan. Also if your using a full size ATX motherboard you will have to remove it to replace or upgrade the side case fan on the left side. The power supply gets in the way for the case fan on the right side if you need to switch that one out.

After a few months the latch for the front panel that flips down broke. Now the panel doesn't close all the way. Also front facing seems to be stuck on with adhesive. Not a huge deal, I had to take it off and re-apply adhesive to get it to stay in place.

Other Thoughts: Overall the case is decent. If I had to do it over again I would probably go with something different. The latch for the front panel breaking after a very limited amount of use is very irritating. It does have a good amount of space to it, so I'll give it credit for that.

5 out of 5 eggsas versatile as it gets

Pros: this case has work as intended for me and got wifey off my back for having a comp case behind speaker.
put together from left over part at the beginning and now added a SSD, been using more and more as time past .
I like the pull out cage, you can pivit it on the case to work on it, everything fit and lined up

Cons: NONE, I wish it was a liitle bit smaller but I knew that before buying.
the description says its 16.4 but its more like 16 3/4in. long
there's not that many htpc cases to choose from that will take a full ATX MB.

Other Thoughts: the case has serve me will, not going to find a smaller case with a full power supply in ATX format at this price,
the good thing about it is that it looks good and its looks like a Av component .
