5 out of 5 eggsXION Predator Gaming Case

Pros: I have been repairing computers for years but never built one, so being said i was unsure what case to get for my first build. Antec is a fav of many but i have to say this case is amazing! It is very roomy (Dells, HP's and such are really compact). so what joy it was to be able to work inside with ease. I like the ability to add fans. Here is something you don't see in the brochure. It comes with a front and rear fan but you can add 2 120mm to the top of the case and 2 120mm or 1 200mm to the side. The hot swap draws are great if you like swapping vs. external HD's. the instructions show you to put the rails that come in the box onto the harddrive (what i did first) but very hard to remove the HD. Instead screw mount them in the tray but here is the tricky part. The HD will not connect until you close the secure bar. It will set the HD for you so warning, do not force it, just close the securing bar and it will go in solid!. Also for a new builder i found that the case fans are connected to the board for the hot swap so even if you do not plan to use this feature please remember to add power or the fans will not activate (unless you reroute the fan plugs to the motherboard). Overall an awesome and solid case. BTW both sides come off and the side with the Motherboard has room for tucking excess wires.

Cons: The only one, more a hiderance easily rectified was the wire for the rear fan goes across the case and makes mounting a motherboard slightly difficult. again you can take the plug and reroute to the motherboard but i wanted all the fans i can get so i left it.

Other Thoughts: from someone who spent all my years buying name brand PC's i highly suggest building your own. It is easy nowadays and DIY's are the saving grace. Cost is another matter, for a little over $800.00 i now have a gaming PC that runs all my games at Ultra (Skyrim, World Of Tanks, RIFT,Etc.). I had a few OOPS moments (important to remember there are 2 power plug locations on the motherboard and really pay atention to the way the hookups for LED, Power button and such go as there is a (+) and (-) that if not correct will not allow the cpu to start. Hope this helps

3 out of 5 eggsIt's okay

Pros: I got it pretty cheap
Holds my hardware in place
Airflow is adequate

Cons: Microphone and headphone inputs on the front are not color coded or labeled

Why is there an eSata port on the front?

The covers for the PCI expansion slots are metal tabs that are difficult to remove without pliers. I installed a graphics card after I built my computer and I scratched my motherboard and almost damaged delicate components. Also, the covers can't be put back in placed after being removed. Removable inserts would have been a much better design choice, but stamping out the metal covers was probably much cheaper.

Side panels don't slide off and on very easily.

No handles or convenient method to carry.

Other Thoughts: This case is pretty basic. The build quality is solid, but it's missing some nice features that in retrospect I should have been willing to pay a little more for (i.e. handles, hinged side panels, side window instead of punched holes.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy to Configure

Pros: *you can remove all panels (including the top) to access innards for ease of installation
*very roomy interior for excellent airfow
*2 hot swap SATA drive bays

Cons: *hot swap SATA bays should have been a tool-less rail system instead of tiny screws to secure the drive, which IMHO makes it a chore to use effectively if you have more than a few drives queued ... great if you don't plan on swapping them out very often, meh

Other Thoughts: This is a very nice sturdy box with no sharp edges and it was a joy to build my 2013 future proof system in it. Cable management is decent behind the MOBO because of the camber on the panels. Could probably fit a 200 mm fan on the access panel if needed, right now I have a 120 mm fan installed on it

4 out of 5 eggsGreat case for the money

Pros: Big - Easily fits my tall CPU cooler and graphics card
Has a lot of options for cooling
Built-in power for included fans
Great design
Front hot-swap bays are very useful

Cons: Cable management area behind the motherboard tray is decent, but not really big enough to route all of your cables through it.

Other Thoughts: The front panel actually includes two USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port, not one eSATA port and USB 2.0 ports as indicated by Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsgood vase

Pros: good cooling, look good, has space to hold 5 ssd, 2 internal 3.25 2 hot swap bays has room to fit a 120 radiatior

Cons: no room to put the fans on top of the radiatot and still put the top on the case, and putting the fan below the radiator in a pull configuration no room with the motherboard in place, if the radiator in place you cat get to the back of the cdrom ib the top most 5.25

5 out of 5 eggsSleek Build

Pros: This case is well built, and plenty of room to fit even large MOBOS; I put in a BIOSTAR TPOWER X79 with ease. Plenty of ventilation and ports to put in fans. Great case for your money, I would recommend for anybody.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: If you put in a 200mm fan on the side-panel and the power cables are too close, you can fix that by tying them down with zip ties.

5 out of 5 eggsThey Got It Right

Pros: I bought this case in March of 2011 and I am still using it 2 years later. Everything has run fine within it, including the fans that came with it. For a mid-tower case, you’d be surprised at the amount of room inside. I have a pair of 7950s in it that fit perfectly and had a pair of the longer 6950s before that.

The hot-swappable bays in the front are an awesome feature I don’t see much in any case even remotely close to this one’s price. The stand-off casters on the bottom give it JUST the right amount of space to allow air movement. For a mid-tower case, I was surprised at the amount of available full-sized bays, and the fan placement options. You can create a perfect-storm scenario in this thing with the right push-pull combination of fans to get the air churning it this puppy. It is also relatively lightweight for such a sturdily built case. Some have commented on the metal’s pliability translating into inferior material in their opinion, but once the thing is put in its closed up mode, the thing feels like a tank.

Cons: I gave the rating 5 stars, but if I could it would have gotten 4 and a half. The reasons for that are few, but if those issues were addressed, it would have made this case perfect in my subjective POV. I would have preferred front USB 3.0 connectors-- which wasn’t as mainstream when I purchased this case-- so I don’t fault it for that; and the side panel 200mm fan placement. Prior to swapping out my motherboard to take advantage of the AM3+ chips I was just using the stock coolers supplied with the CPUs I used. That said, the 200mm fan was perfectly fine in its current orientation. After I upgraded I decided I wanted to use the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cooler for my FX chip. This does NOT play well with the 200mm fan on the side panel, so needless to say I removed that panel fan. I’m sure I could have modified the panel and adjusted the fan’s placement, but I didn’t want to drill wider holes into the panel that was riddled with them already; and if I really wanted to keep the air flowing, I could use a 120mm fan to fit beneath the EVO’s massive bulk.

The one and only other thing that annoyed me slightly was that I couldn’t reroute my cables under the adjacent panel (motherboard mounting plate) without some difficulty on trying to flatten out the PSUs tightly wound leads so they would fit sufficiently without crushing or tearing the insulation on them when the panel was slid back into place. It was finally accomplished, but it was a chore. All of this would have been a non-issue if I wasn't trying to make the case’s innards look clean and uncluttered; so again, it’s not something I’ll dock a star off because of personal preference and because some of the fault has to go to the PSU for using overly thick leads.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line is I believe you can’t find a better suited case for beauty and function for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs9 Month Update

Pros: Still really great. The blue LED power and frontal fan look awesome. Has ALOT of breathing room so you'll never have to worry about your parts heating up quick.

Cons: This is for myself:
After the first month the power light went out and I thought, but this wasn't the case. During the first month I was opening up the side to make sure everything wasn't getting dusty and when I was dusting it out I must of loosened the light cord. lol But everything is fixed now.

Other Thoughts: This is a really great Case to have because you can add more fans to this as you please. I'm getting more fans for mine so I can have a light show with my computer.

3 out of 5 eggsNice case but has a few issues

Pros: Indeed it has plenty of room unless you install the after-market COOL MASTER Hyper 212. It stands up so high that you cannot install a 120mm fan on the side panel without it running into it. Only room for one 120mm fan and it has to be placed on the lower section of the side panel. I originally purchased a 200mm fan for the side panel but the holes do not even come close to lining up. It would not have mattered anyway since it also would have not fit with the Hyper 212 installed. The hot swappable bays are a great feature.

Cons: 200mm fan holes on side panel do not line up for a 200mm fan. It would be nice if it was easy to replace the front blue 120mm fan. Documentation for this case is awful. It looks photocopied and does not explain very much about the case.
