Xion skimped on nothing when it made the XON-990-BK gaming case: all the options were included, all the requirements exceeded, and it's a knockout value. They started with the basics -- the fans. The designers went big for maximum airflow with a 120mm blue LED front fan and a 120mm rear fan. Not content with that though, extra fan mounts on side panel for 4x 120mm fans or 1x 220mm fan, on top for 1x 120mm fan and retention holes for watering cooling allow the possibility for enhanced thermal performance. Front-loading, hot-swap dock allows hassle-free access to your 2.5"/3.5" SATA HDD. With features such as black internal finish for sleek look, front panel USB 3.0 connectivity, removal HDD cage to fit extended performance graphic card and toolless installation for ODD/HDD, this case is a great choice when you build your dream system.

  • newegg Front-Loading HDD Dock The hot-swappable front-loading HDD dock can accommodate 2.5"/3.5" SATA hard drive for fast, hassle-free data transfer, without the fuss of opening case and groping inside.
  • newegg Exceptional Cooling The XION XON-990-BK case comes equipped with one 120mm front blue LED fan, one 120mm rear fan and large area meshes on side panel and front panel for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
  • newegg Easy Drive Installation The screwless rail design for 5.25" and 3.5" enables hassle-free setup and removal of optical drives and hard disk drives. The detachable HDD cage makes for the installation of high performance graphic card of up to 14.3".
  • newegg Water Cooling Support The retention holes provided at the rear of chassis allow easy water cooling setup and maintenance while a single radiator of liquid cooling can be mounted on the top inside the case.
  • newegg Bottom Mounted PSU The bottom mounted PSU design enables independent and optimized cooling.
  • newegg Easy-Access Front Panel Three USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, two audio ports located at the front panel allow easy access to a variety of peripherals.

4 out of 5 eggsXion Case

Pros: This will hold just about anything you own. Can do water cooling, comes with three fans, design has some good features. On sale, good value for the money. This is a good quality case for the most part. Fans are much quieter than I would have thought from reading other reviews. They do look cheaply made. I bought replacements, but they seem louder, so I'll wait to replace them if these fail or get loud. There are two fan controls built into the case.
Case came in a sturdy box with good foam cushioning. Not one issue with any breakage as noted by some reviewers. And it came arcross the coast from Calf.
I had no issues removing and replacing the case filters.

Cons: It is much bigger than it looks. Closer to a full tower. Screwless design for the 5 1/4 in slots is not very sturdy. drives move when you touch the eject button. I think I will just screw them in. Heck how ofter do you replace DVD drives??
The top is ready for a radiator, but if you don't use it, you have fins with 1/2 inch slots just waiting for you to drop some change, nuts/bolts or jewelery down them into you mother board. Suggest you place a filter or something under the top cover to protect your PC's guts. Or keep it fully under the desk. Cable management is hit or miss. The secondary motherboard power socket is right next to an opening in the case top side but it is covered in part by the case side panel guides so the power plug will not fit through through it. Lots of cable cut outs, but not always where you need them or that useful.

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale so I am happy. For more money, you get a better case. But $ for $ you get a lot of features not found on any case in this price range. Just don't expect a BMW for the price of a Chevy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal

Pros: Large case with lots of bays.
Sturdy construction.
Designed for cable management.
Bottom mount power supply.
HDD trays for easy replacement.
Two quiet 120mm fans included.
Front facing USB (1x3.0, 3x2.0).
SATA expansion port on TOP of unit.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I bought this case to use for a new NAS appliance I was building. I purchased this mainly because of the price ($55 after rebate) and I wasn't expecting much. But after receiving this case I can say that, for the money, it is the best case I have ever owned. It is perfect for a NAS appliance or any other system that generates large amounts of heat. Plus there are tons of very nice design features (some listed under "Pros") that I have never before seen combined into a sub $100 case.
As for the plastic drive trays noted in an earlier review, it's no big deal. I have worked with server chassis that incorporated plastic trays and have never experienced a meltdown. Besides, the front fan on this case keeps all 5 of my internal drives cool to the touch even when they're spinning at full speed for an extended period of time.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good solid case , great air flow , looks good

Cons: It says there is an option for a 220mm side fan but the measurement is incorrect possibly a 200mm fan would fit

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing.

Pros: Large case, plenty of room. The size and the steel mesh provide excellent airflow. It looks sweet. The fans it comes with are pretty quiet. 4 USB ports is a very nice feature, especially the 3.0.

Cons: None. I have no complaints at all.

Other Thoughts: It's larger than it appears in the picture. When I purchased it, I wasn't expecting it to be this big. It's not like it's a bad thing, though. Like I mentioned, the size helps with airflow.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat case!

Pros: A lot of space and very good air flow. I like that this case can be added on to in various ways. Add cooling, add tons of drives. The hot swap on top of the many really cool things about this case. This case is, so far, very quiet running just the fans that were included. Let's not forget how awesome this case looks too!

This case allows for good cable routing too.

Cons: I can't say the following are true cons, just things to be aware of.

I've had to watch out for the power switch. It's located right at the edge, in front, on top. And I've accidentally shut the computer down a couple of times now. I'll get used to it.

This case is big. If you've gotten used to the smaller form factor cases be aware that this case is big like the towers used to be back in the day.

Other Thoughts: We bought two of these cases. In the future with the custom builds we do I'll be looking for more from this manufacturer. They really seem to know what they're doing.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent case

Pros: USB Front Ports
USB 3.0 Front Port
Hot Swap HDD
Fan inputs covered by dust mesh
Lots of room

Cons: Minor install issues that i cant recall anymore

Other Thoughts: Bought this case as I wanted the front usb 3.0 port and the hot swap hard drive port. The drive on top (wd green) stay nice and cool at all times.
I added a fan (120mm N82E16835200050) to the top liquid cool spot and it fit and runs with no issues. components are very cool.

No issues with the Hard drive cage.
plenty of room for the long video cards and the sata connectors that point off the board. this was a major pain with my last case.

Very happy with this case and the rest of my build!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Case!

Pros: Great features, easy setup, dang near everything you could want. Looks much better in person than in these pics. Runs quiet with stock fans. Lots of cooling options.

Cons: I'm happy enough with the spot on top for a single width radiator like on a Corsair h80, BUT... Would be even better if it had room for a h100. Of course the price would likely be higher then.

Other Thoughts: The other reviewer... Not sure why anyone would think a hard drive gets hot enough to melt plastic. This case has a port on top for hot swapping HDDs. They barely even get warm.

1 out of 5 eggsDecent Exterior but Bad Interior

Pros: The exterior of the case is sturdy and decently built.

Cons: Unfortunately, the case's interior is bad because the HDD cage locks and PCI locks are made of plastic that makes it flimsy. As I was examining the case after I unpackaged it, the PCI locks on the case was stuck many times that it gets chipped easily. As for the HDD cages, it holds your HDD cage in a plastic container. Plastic, known for its low melting point, will create the probability of your hard drive dropping to the next level in the HDD cage. For example, if you put it on the top layer of this HDD cage in the plastic HDD container, there is a strong possibility that the plastic holding your Hard Drive will melt because of the high temperature emitted by your HDD when it is running at full load.

Other Thoughts: Decent and aesthetically exterior. But poorly built interior. Would not recommend.
