5 out of 5 eggsGreat case

Pros: Used this case for a Gigabyte GA-MA785GT motherboard with an AMD X4 965 BE, Corsair 750TX power supply, 4GB G-Skill memory, Sony Optiarc DVD, and WD 1TB green HD, running Windows 7 Pro.

Looks great and runs silent. Air flow and cooling are good.

Cons: No Hard drive light. Easily corrected with a LED from an old case mounted behind the mesh front panel.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very spacy Fits my Zalman 9900A CPU fan!

Cons: no Hard disk LED, Your stuck with just the big bright Power LED.

Other Thoughts: Looks sharp!, Rounded edges everywhere, Perfect Case! All it needs is a HD LED

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, not what I expected

Pros: All of these PROS have to be understood in the contect of "For this price..." It's a sturdy case without being overweight, lots of room for expansion, lots of modding options, both sides can be removed, the sides are secured with thumbscrews, and the power supply is on the bottom.

Cons: For any price, this series leaves some things to be desired: there is no hard drive activity light (LED), there is no case speaker, there were no MB mounting screws, there is no "Reset" button, the side panels fall off when the screws are removed, the bottom plane is mesh so you can suck in all kinds of dust-bunnies, the front panel ports are stiff and cheap, almost every edge is razor-sharp.

Other Thoughts: I'm a fan of the Gigabyte Triton series, having built three systems with them and wanted to stay with a manufacturer with whom I have experience.

This Luxo case is a bit smaller and less expensive than the Triton and both were important for this build, but I was surprised by what's missing from this case.

Added a front 120mm fan without any problem (except dodging the kinfe-edged sheetmetal), and I had a case speaker and lots of MB mounting screws around, so I'm not dissatisfied...

I should add that after adding the 120mm 63cfm Skype case fan, it is still a very quite case. Surprisingly quiet.

But come on Gigabyte! What were 8 screws going to cost you? And how expensive is a little LED light for HDD activity? And I know how little a case speaker costs.

These are pretty glaring omissions and defects in what would otherwise be a Very Good Case.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Price-to-quality ratio!

Pros: This case is solid. The front bezel is mesh, and is layered with anti-dust foam (no surprise - most cases are) which does a very nice job of keeping the case clean. The drive mounts, both optical and hdd, are extremely solid and well-dimensioned. Also, the PSU mount is on the bottom of the case which is a huge plus for hiding wires and upping airflow, reducing stress on the case, and reducing vibrations. The case easily fits an ATI 4870 (Asus DK), and has plenty of room to spare for supplying power to the card, as well as offering plenty of drive bays for those who spend much time building RAID configurations. As for the case doors and its overall rigidity - 5 of 5 eggs.

Cons: The case only comes with one 12cm fan in the rear, but is adaptable to a 12cm or 8cm in the front (by the hdd bays). The original fan is quiet, but doesn't pull as much air as most would prefer, though it is substantial for an AMD Athlon II Kuma system. The case DOES NOT come with tool-free optical and hdd mounts; however, it does offer a place for them. I don't truly believe this to be a con as I typically trust screws more, and the product specs show now mention of these mounts being included.

Other Thoughts: This is great bang for the buck! I'd say this is an even swap for the RC690, and at a far better price. It may be a new arrival, but it should soon rival the 5-egg numbers of the Centurion and other great low-cost cases.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not come with Tool-less hdd tools

Pros: Case looks good. Cheap.

Cons: BUYER BEWARE. I RMA'd the first one because it did not come with the tool-less hdd/cd-rom tools that it said it would come with. I received the 2nd unit and it still did not come with the tools. What am I supposed to secure it with, hopes and dreams? I have extra thumb screws from another case that I have which I'm planning on using. I'm not going to bother returning the unit as it's just going to cost as much as the case itself in terms of shipping. I would not recommend Gigabyte cases. Also the thumb screws that secure the sides of the case do not go well into the holes. It's like the holes were an afterthought.
