Nice case overall
- Pros: Very well put together case. Nice form factor and generally easy to get around. Good ventilation and well defined air flow. Display system is nice and the included documentation is decent.
- Cons: A little difficult to put 4 drives into the system. Takes some time and good cable management to get things organized. Case can get cluttered with 4 HD's and 1 Optical drive.
- Other Thoughts: Overall very impressed and happy with the case. Well constructed and the bell and whistles make it worth the investment.
Very nice case
- Pros: With the updated drivers from Zalman's site , I was able to get everything working fine under vista media center. However, I had to change a setting in the IRtrans GUI to get the remote to power on/off the computer.
- Cons: Removable motherboard standoffs would have been nice. Kind of hard to get everything lined up and the standoffs are pressed into the bottom of the chassis so you can't change them.
- Other Thoughts: Very tight lines. My components run very quiet and cool. Remember to set your motherboard's bios so the processor and case fan speeds are at their lowest.
Premium case - thumbs up...
- Pros: Sleek looking case - can hold 4 sata drives. I put 1TB in mine. With LCD Smartie and upgraded IRTran software the VCD is pretty cool. Tight lines on the case. Good ventilation. Nice packaging.
- Cons: Have to remove drive cage with extended screw driver. Make sure screw driver is magnetized or else you'll go fishing for screws next to the disk cage. Power cables are a tight fit if you add all drive possible. This can impact ventilation. Large vid cards like the ATI X1900 AIW have the power adapter smack up against the disk cage. Tight fit - I had to alter the molex connection to the power cord for the card.
- Other Thoughts: Looks more in line with stereo equipment than a PC so its nice in the living room.

Excellent Expandability The 5.25" and 3.5" exposed bays along with the four 3.5” internal bays provide plenty of expansion room - four or more hard disks can be installed on anti-vibration mounts. The push-open door style front I/O panel houses two USB ports, 1394 port, MIC and headphone jacks. Optimized Ventilation and Cooling: Multiple air inlets adjacent to all major heat-generating components facilitate optimized ventilation and cooling. Energy Conservation: The HD160 can be operated at minimum fan speed with Zalman's silent cooling solutions, consuming less power than regular systems. User Friendly Components: Remote control for enabling multimedia software operation and control. Convenient volume knob. Minimized Vibrations: Vibration can be prevented by attaching the vibration-preventing pads on the bottom part of the hard disk, and friction with the screws can be minimized by attaching the circular vibration-preventing pads on the top part of the hard disk. Power Supporter serves two purposes by preventing the breakaway of the power supplier when exposed to vibration or external impact, and by serving as the prevention for bending. Power must be attached after attaching the Power Guide, in order to provide the power supplier with fresh air. |
